Neat original book illustrations from 1885 edition of Picturesque Tours in America, the Junior United Tourist Club, edited by the Rev. Edward T. Bromfield, published by R. Worthington, NY. The date does not appear on-page but was present on the book's title page from which these came. Measure about 7 1/2 x 9 1/2 inches. We have listed here 6 of the two-sided prints or pages from the book, some having a second separate full page print on the other side, others having book copy. Use of a '&' in the listing below will indicate that there are two full page prints back-to-back.
Excellent condition for age. Pages have likely darkened over time, with some browning at outer edges. Varying by page, there also can be some minor small spotting in the margin areas and margin or corner creasing, tiny margin edge tears and at least one page edge has been trimmed where it was removed from the book. We've shown one of the prints as an example. Please use the 'question' button to e-mail for photos and specifics on the other prints. Priced each.
Available prints: Pacific Ocean at Santa Clara; Seal Rocks; The Three Brothers (Mountains); Big Trees of Mariposa; Emigrant Wagon Train (Colorado), Wapiti (Elk/Deer).

Marty Allen Autograph, Steve Rossi Autograph, a black & white autographed photo of the two performers together, 8 1/8 x 9 1/8 inches, clearly autographed by each separately near their images, 'Best regards - Steve Rossi' and 'To Lew Best always Marty Allen' in blue ball-point pen. Photo was glued onto cardboard and is still attached (although glue appears to have been placed primarily in corners). While in overall good condition, the edges have been trimmed in the margin areas (which along the bottom margin has left a very thin white margin), there are some creases on photo (from handling) and some dirt or spotting. Marty Allen autographed photo; Steve Rossi autographed photo.

Barbara Rush Autograph, a black & white 8 x 10 1/8 inches autographed photo, clearly autographed 'To Lou - With Love, Babs Rush' in blue ball-point ink in bottom left (this is too light to be seen well in image but it is there). Photo was glued onto cardboard and is still attached (although glue appears to have been placed primarily in corners). While in overall good condition, the edges have been trimmed in the margin areas (with some a bit jagged), there is light dirt on the photo at the back of her neck, and there are some creases or wrinkling on photo (from handling).

Andre Kostelanetz Autograph, a black & white 8 x 10 1/8 inches autographed photo, clearly autographed 'For Louis Atella with best wishes - Andre Kostelanetz' (the individual letters in his name can be hard to make out but it looks like this overall). Photo was glued onto cardboard and is still attached (although glue appears to have been placed primarily in corners). Unfortunately, the photo has a big vertical crease which goes down his face (does not effect signed words which are on bottom left). There is some other handling creasing on photo and a little dirt (not bad), and the edges have been trimmed in the margin areas. Still a good signature of this famous musician.

Neat souvenir or commemorative ceramic or pottery pitcher made by Royal Winton, with view from Fundy National Park, Canada shown on one side (the back side is blank white). Measures about 4 inches tall, 5 inches wide from tip of spout to outer edge of handle, with top opening 3 1/2 inches wide and bottom round base 3 inches in diameter. Has gold line trim on top rim, around base and on handle. Marked on underside base 'Royal Winton, Grimwades, Made in England, A' with also the impressed word 'Globe'. Excellent condition, clean inside & out, no chips, cracks, crazing. There is a touch of wear to the gold trim in spots (minor, not bad), a touch of irregularity to the rim in one spot (not chipped, you can just feel a tiny bit of roughness rather than smoothness), some occassional dark pin or pit dots, and some expected wear to the underside base on which the piece sits. A nice piece. We've shown 5 images including a close-up of the color transfer decoration from the park (please note the white 'hot spots' are lighting reflection from the camera).
From the wonderful The Hardy Boys book series written by Franklin W. Dixon and published by Grosset & Dunlap. This is book #12, 'Footprints Under the Window'. It has the desirable 'blue binding' (turquoise blue), and is a hardcover edition without dust jacket (as sold). We believe this to be a 1960s/1970s edition of this book, and has a copyright date of 1965 and white with black line pictorial inner cover pages. Book measures 5 1/8 x 7 5/8 inches. We have a second copy of this book with a slightly different cover heading which we are listing as "B".
We actually are listing many others of these hard cover "blue binding" Hardy Boys books (including multiple copies of some books). The books appear to come from different editions of this set, based on slight differences in their covers. The books are all being sold separately; you can buy the one you need to complete your collection, or several to start one!
The condition of this #12 book is very good. It has been read or used and is not mint, but still in good shape. There is edge wear and corner bumping or wear on the outside covers, and other small dirt, wear spots or rubbing including slight dirt/darkening on the outer edge pages, but nothing bad or unexpected. The inside is nice and clean. A highly usable, nice reading copy.
Please note: If you are interested in more than one of the Hardy Boys books we have available for sale, please contact us before placing the order. The shipping information has been inputted for a purchase of just one and will not calculate the savings you would get when purchasing more than one shipped together in the same package (we will need to handle this for you).
Attractive pottery vase in interesting 'V' shape with molded ridges and mottled green & blue earthy or natural coloring. Has no identification markings which we could find. Stands about 6 inches tall, roughly oval top opening, greatest width 5 1/2 inches, depth 3 1/4 inches, with roughly round base about 2 1/2 inches diameter.
The green & blue colors mix in varying shades among the ridges, similar to seeing the variation in color in a lake as the water ripples. It has a very natural reminiscent look which we find very impressive and tried to capture as best we could in the 3 images. Please note that the white 'hot spots or dots' in the images are the reflection of the lighting on this highly glazed piece. We don't know how old the piece is, it came out of a home.
Wonderful condition overall. We do see one flake or small chip on one side near the bottom which shows as a small white circle among the green about 1/8 inch in diameter, some other minor scratches or lines on the ridges and feel some roughness on some of the ridges and the top edge, which we believe traces to how the final glaze layer settled or was applied. There also are some areas within the ridges under the top glaze in which the colors may not have fully melded into one another during manufacture (this particularly seems to have occurred in the more aqua-colored areas), leaving a speckled 'dotted line' look within the deeper points of some of the ridges. But while pointing out all we see to fairly represent this piece, it is the striking effect of this vase which catches the eye. An interesting addition for any pottery collection.
This is an antique or vintage Hummel 'Little Hiker', marked on the underside base 16 2/0, with the Stamped Full Bee TMK-2 mark and 'Germany'. As with all original Hummel figurines, this was manufactured by The Goebel Company (W. Goebel Company), although their name does not appear on the piece. A cute little boy in German dress with a big staff/tree branch in his hand who looks like he is calling out or singing while taking a hike in somewhat oversized shoes (perhaps they are snow shoes?). This old piece measures about 4 1/4 inches tall and 1 7/8 inches wide, which is also the diameter of the round base that has the incised 'M J Hummel' on the back rim (this is hard to read but it is there).
Very nice overall condition, no chips, cracks, crazing that we can see. He does look dirty to us, like he could use a good cleaning, but we are selling him as found since we don't know the proper way to clean him. The only other thing we notice is one or two very tiny dots of white on the head of his brown staff. We don't know if some paint has worn off here or whether he was made this way, it feels the tiniest bit rough in this spot, so perhaps it is wear, but it is definitely nothing major and probably something most people wouldn't notice. There is another tiny, tiny white dot on the back of his red hat but this can't be felt at all. Please note that in the 3 images there are lots of 'white hot spots', but these are reflections from the camera lighting (which also lightens the coloring of the piece). We just try to inspect very carefully and tell all we see to fairly represent our items. Others, however, would just see a lovely piece in great shape that would make a nice addition to any collection.
Lovely art glass vase with swirled colored design, hand-blown with small bubbles in the glass and a ground base showing a rough pontil. Vase height 4 3/4 inches with greatest width of 3 inches. Colors swirled into a slightly dark clear glass are orange, yellow and a pale, not solid tan or beige (this shows up as a bright white in the images due to the lighting). Surface of vase is slightly raised or bumpy in spots in line with the design, but it doesn't feel like the colors were solely applied to the outside of the glass (perhaps the swirling effect 'raised' some areas of the glass over others, we don't know). Excellent condition, no chips or cracks. Some slight pit dots or raised dots on the surface. We are not certain of the age, but believe the vase to date from the 1920's-30's.
Collectible antique toy soldier type of toy of a male worker or laborer of some type, but we don't know what type. His hands are very curved in a manner that makes us believe that he was meant to 'carry' something, such as pushing a wheel barrow in front of him or carrying some sort of rods or stick type objects. We expect that he originally came with something to carry but when we got him from an older home they only had the figure and not anything he would have carried. On the underside are raised letters which, while some are very worn, say 'Britains Ltd, Proprietors, Made in England, Copyright', so he is a Britains figure.
We don't know if he was originally sold as a figure to be used with a train set or a village display (such as a Christmas village or Christmas scene display) or as part of some other old toy set or scene. He is definitely an old, antique or vintage piece, although we don't know his exact age (we are not toy dealers and just describe what we see). He is definitely made of a cast metal which we believe could be lead from similar pieces we've handled and seen. As such, we will only sell this piece to adult collectors, it should be handled with care and should not be given to children to play with due to concerns with lead exposure.
The man stands about 2 1/4 inches tall, 1 inch wide and 7/8 inches in depth at the base. There is a pin hole on the top of his head, which we believe was made in manufacture, from separating him from the mold in which he was made. We have provided 7 images to try and show from all sides and details for condition purposes, with the figure also shown with a quarter for size comparison. Please note that the white "hot spots" are reflections from the camera lighting. This lighting makes his coloring seem a little bit lighter & brighter than it is in person. You will see in the images from the sides that he, as made, is not standing straight but is leaning slightly forward (as one might expect if you were wheeling or pushing something).
While a fun piece, he clearly has been used and played with and shows his age, so he is not mint. There are no chips or breaks that we see. There is much paint wear, paint chipping/flaking including some paint near/under both of his arms which looks to be peeling upwards so it may flake off. There is paint wear on his face, hands and arms, and clothing with the gray base metal showing through. The bright camera lighting "blands out" some of the paint wear making some of it hard to see, but please understand it is there (a "rough" guess would be that 70%+ of his paint is still there). The paint looks original to us, he does not appear to have been repainted. There is also wear to the underside base on which the piece stands. We are selling this as is/as found. None of this is unexpected for an antique piece like this and supports its age.
A nifty addition for a collectors group of small vintage toy figures. Could be incorporated into an older train set or diorama or other display dealing with workers or working figures or American life in general.
Please note that we have many other lead toys listed separately for sale. If you wish to purchase more than one, please e-mail us before placing the order since the shipping information has been inputted for a purchase of just one and will not calculate the savings you would get when purchasing more than one shipped together in the same package (we will need to handle this for you).
Single beautiful signed Lenox wine or champagne glass in what we believe is called 'smoke blue' color, it is not cobalt blue (although color is off in images causing it to sometimes appear a bit like that), but rather medium blue color that may have a mixture of gray in it. Please note that glass is much bluer than appears in images (versus the images, it has more 'dark turquoise blue' to it). While a round glass, bottom of bowl has been formed in six-sided or hexagon shape with side ridges & molded curves above the hexagon.
Total height 5 1/8 inches, bowl top diameter 3 7/8 inches, bowl depth about 2 1/2 inches, on stem ending in circular base about 3 inches in diameter. Very nice condition, no chips or cracks, but does have a few stray light scratches & two rubbed or wear lines or light discoloration lines (each about 1 inch long, they follow curved design above hexagon on one side of glass in kind of a 'curved v', they don't jump out at you & wouldn't be noticed sitting on table, but if you go looking, you'll find them).
Nifty antique or vintage milk glass rose bowl whose top has four 'points' giving it a squarish shape, with raised scalloped design. Height 5 inches, width or diameter at the top 4 1/2 inches, round base diameter 2 1/2 inches. Piece has 3 visible side seams on glass and raised 'IG' Imperial Glass mark on underside base. Excellent condition, no chips or cracks. There are a few minor scratches, but these are only visible when looked at at an angle in bright light. Beautiful piece.
Lovely small Wedgwood china blue Jasperware or Queensware trinket dish or ash tray (ashtray) with traditional raised white leafy design around the edge and two 'indentations' for cigarettes. Round, measuring 3 5/8 inches in diameter, marked on the bottom side with impressed 'Wedgwood' (hard to see, but there), 'Made in England'. Excellent conditon, no chips, cracks, crazing, scratches, we see nothing wrong with it. A nice piece.
Attractive vintage china porcelain bird plate with center decor of a Mountain Quail (name appears under picture of bird). Multi-color transfer bird picture on white center with nice wide pink outer edging and gold circular inner edging. As labelled on backside, made by 'Sterling China, Designed by Carl Otto, Made in U.S.A.', it also states 'Decorated by Barnhart Pottery, Chester, W. Va.' (West Virginia).
This round antique plate measures about 7 3/4 inches in diameter and sits 3/4 inch in height. Terrific condition, no chips, cracks, crazing. There is some expected age wear on the plate in terms of some wear to the gold trim and some surface scratching or pitting (but these last are only visible when looked at very closely in bright light), nothing bad.
While this is a listing of a single plate, we actually have a companion or matching plate in this series. The other listed separately is of the game bird California Quail. If you are interested in purchasing both plates please e-mail us prior to inputting the order. The shipping cost has been inputted for each plate individually and will not calculate the savings you would get in shipping weight and postage by shipping these both packed in one box. We will need to calculate that for you.
Please note: While each plate says that they were designed by Carl Otto on the backside, we believe the individual bird pictures were actually designed by A. Singer, or the famous bird artist, Arthur Singer. Incorporated into the bird picture on the front of each plate is a small signature, which looks to be A. Singer (this signature is clearly visible or readable on the Pheasant plate; on each of the other plates you can see a similar signature or letters are there but they are not readable on these plates). We believe this indicates that A. Singer did the actual bird art, but Carl Otto incorporated it into an overall design for the plates.
A wonderful addition to any collection of bird plates or quail pieces, or a nice gift for any bird lover.

There are a couple of minor marks or colored marks on the backside of the plate, and expected wear on the bottom edge on which the plate sits.
