Small Royal Doulton China Toby Mug Character Jug Sairey Gamp

Lovely Royal Doulton china or pottery 'Sairey Gamp' Toby Mug or Character Jug in the small size, discontinued 1986. Measures 3 1/4 inches tall, 4 1/4 x 2 1/2 inches top dimensions. Manufacturer marking including the older "A" next to the insignia is there on underside base, but light in color. Overall very nice condition but mug does have a small chip (1/8th inch in width) on the underside base along the rim (but this is not noticeable when sitting on a shelf) and 2 other minor flakes on underside base. Image shows lighting reflection from camera lighting. Nice addition to any collection of these wonderful Toby Mugs or Character Jugs.

23453

Theodore Havilland Limoges China Bouillon Cup & Saucer Sets

8 handsome antique Havilland Limoges china double handled Bouillon Cup & Saucer sets sold separately. These are also sometimes called Creamed Soup cup and saucer sets, although we believe the creamed soup size would be a bit larger. White with intricate gold decoration including band with pink & light green floral and leaf design.

These vintage pieces all came out of the same older home and date to the 1904-mid 1920's period. All the cups & saucers are stamp marked on the underside with "Theodore Haviland, Limoges, France, Patent applied for" in red script (this is easier to read on some pieces versus others but it's there) and the pieces have an impressed "TH".

Saucer measures 5 1/2 in. diameter, cup measures 3 1/2 in. diameter to the top opening (5 1/8 in. wide including 2 handles), together the two pieces stand 2 1/4 in. tall.

The 8 cup & saucer sets are overall in lovely and very usable shape, but there are a few flaws. No major chips, cracks or crazing. There is some gold wear on some pieces (not bad at all but there if you look for it), some stray gold paint marks from the painting process, as well as some in-manufacture pin/pit dots and other slight wear. On two of the saucers on the topside there is a single dark tiny dot. On one saucer this is a round dot near the rim about 1/16 inch in diameter, and on the other saucer the black dot is in a white china area, a tad larger oval size about 1/8 inch (we don't know if one or both of these dots could be removed or scrubbed off and haven't tried, they are visible but likely wouldn't be noticed by most people when the china was in use on a table). On one cup we need to point out what looks to be several made-in-manufacture flaws. First, on this cup there appears to be a very small low flake near the interior rim but the gold rim line goes over/through this flake area which is why we believe the cup was made/sold with this flake on it. There is also a light line of wear near the flake perhaps from the production machine rubbing (and chipping/flaking) in this area. On the bottom interior base of this same cup, if you look closely there is a small "Y" hairline inside the china. This is not visible from the underside of the cup nor does it appear to be a hairline within the surface glazing, so we think this could be a stress flaw from when the cup was made. We don't think anyone would notice this in use, but you should know this is there on this one cup.

Priced for one cup & saucer set. If you wish to order multiple sets, please e-mail us before placing the order. The shipping information has been inputted for a purchase of just one cup & saucer set and will not calculate the savings you would get when purchasing multiple sets shipped together in the same package (we will need to handle this for you).

Pair Signed Hand Painted T&V Limoges China Bread & Butter Plates

Pair of Hand Painted china bread & butter plates using T&V Limoges (Tressermann & Vogt Limoges China) white bases and showing painters initials 'M.G.B.' on back. The T&V Limoges mark in green dates from ca. 1892-1907. These were likely painted during the period when hand painting china was a popular hobby for individuals in the early 1900s to 1920s period. People would purchase blank white pieces and then hand paint them, afterwards taking them to a store or location for firing in a kiln to "seal" the paint. Pretty pale flowers with yellow center & green leaves, 6 inches diameter, scalloped edge with worn gold paint on edge, otherwise very good condition. Priced and sold as a pair.

Geometric Design Vintage Glass Perfume Bottle, Light Orange Color

Excellent condition light orange glass perfume bottle with glass stopper, has a clear look. There are no manufacturer markings, but given style and coloring, it is possible this dates to the 1930s-1940s period and may be Czechoslovakian glass or Eastern European glass, but we can't guarantee that. It is clearly an interesting, different geometrically oriented piece. Oval base with geometric line design, 2 1/2 in. x 1 3/4 in. Stopper narrow rectangular shape with pointed top & sawtooth edges, 1 1/2 in. wide. Together stands 7 in. tall. This vintage piece is in lovely condition, no chips, cracks, or major evidence of wear/use. Would make a nice addition to any collection of perfume bottles or colored glass items.

23466

Victorian Large Pink Cased Glass Fluted Bowl for Basket

Beautiful condition piece of Victorian Glass, pink glass fluted bowl, with color flowing from light pink at center to dark at edges (image may make center portion seem whiteish but it is a light pink in person). The underside of this glass bowl is white and therefore appears to be what has been referred to as cased glass (two layers of differing colored glass). It is circular, about 10 1/4 inches diameter, with raised flutes giving bowl height of 3 inches. This appears to us to be the type of glass bowl used in/with Victorian Silver Plate Baskets (but we do not have such a holder for it). Topside there are several minor tiny dark dots/pin dots in the glass and some surface mars or small scratches. No rim chips. Underside base has some dark spots/surface wear as expected with age. We believe this piece was hand blown (perhaps into a mold as was often done) since there is a large rough pontil in the center of the underside base where the piece would have been separated from the blown apparatus.

Lovely Murano Glass Bowl or Italian Art Glass Bowl

Angular, flowing red glass Murano bowl (also referred to as Italian Art Glass Bowl), kind of oblong/diamond shaped, with upward curled indentation/handle on one side and downward curled/pointed on opposite side, having 4 half circle raised curled "handles" on underside, with underside slanting downwards towards a smaller round base on which the piece sits. The bowl is roughly 7 inches long from the point to curled top outer edge and 7 5/16 inches wide across the other dimension and sits about 3 inches in greatest height. There are bubbles throughout the glass. This piece dates from the 1950's and is very heavy in weight, as these pieces usually are. Nice shape overall but not mint, with some small chips/indentation chips in the glass on the underside base and underside base edges and a tiny bit of scratching on interior topside.

Jessie Willcox Smith Charles Dickens Framed Antique Print Old Frame

Beautiful framed antique print with printed signature of Jessie Willcox Smith and a copyright insignia with "C.S.S." in the lower left corner. The old print may be an original book illustration, we're not sure. We have not taken the piece out of the frame and glass so as not to disturb it. Through the glass we can see that the print/page sits on top of or is somehow attached to the beige matte board or back piece, onto which there is a brown line framing the print and the handwritten title or words beneath it in the lower right corner, 'Little Nell and Her Grandfather at Mrs. Farleys'.

From some research we believe these characters and the scene are from the Charles Dickens novel, The Old Curiosity Shop. From the overall aged look of the piece, and the style of the frame, we would guess this was framed in the 1920s-1930s period, using a book page print from that age or earlier, but we don't know this for certain as the date is not indicated (perhaps one might find this written on the backside of the print or matting board if the piece was dismantled but again, we have not done so and are selling this as is/as found). Adding to the belief of age is the tanning or browning of the matting board (it is an overall light brown color but of the type a board becomes with age, most likely it was white or ivory in color when first framed) and the coloring of the print itself. The print colors are mainly of the white/green/grayish type which was often used with book prints in older books from the late 1800's to 1930's period.

Vintage picture is under glass in a thin, old wood carved frame, measuring a total size of 11 3/4 x 15 1/2 inches and about 1/2 inch frame depth. We have put new hanging wire on the backside. Excellent condition overall with expected age wear to frame including frame nicks.

A neat antique piece to hang in a study, library room or child's room. Would make a great gift for anyone interested in The Old Curiosity Shop by Charles Dickens or collecting items related to the author and his novels or works, or interested in general in great literary works, children's literature, etc.

Scheidts Beer Tray, Valley Forge Beer, Rams Head Ale, Norristown PA

Scheidts Beer Ale Tray, marked 'Scheidts, Valley Forge Beer, Rams Head Ale, Norristown PA.' with full color picture of Washington & his troops at Washington's Headquarters, Valley Forge. Round metal tray measuring 11 1/4 inches in diameter and sits 1 1/4 inches in height.

Overall good shape, but far from mint -- shows age/wear flaws from use and time. Please note that we try to describe everything we see to be fair, but most of this won't be visible in the images due to being shot further away to show the whole tray (the white "hot spots" in the images are reflection from the camera lighting on the metal surfaces). Also, none of this is unexpected given the age and probable use of this tray. There are no major dents, cracks, bends, etc. Regardless still very presentable, collectable and usable.

If you look closely at an angle in bright light you'll see many flaws to the center decor, but otherwise they are not apparent, and most wouldn't see them. However, these flaws from use/age include many rubbed areas, scratches, lines, dots, etc. What is apparent on general viewing is some wear to the upper red tray rim, particularly one spot about 3/4 inch in width where you see silver from the red paint being worn away. Elsewhere on the rim you can see silver lines, dots, etc. The most wear is visible on the blue bottom of the tray, as to be expected. There are scratch lines, dots, rubbed wear, etc. On the outer blue side to the tray there is some evidence of wear but not bad, but on close looking you will see some scratches, rubbed spots, dots, etc.
