RARE Red Goose Shoes Antique String Game!

Straight from my personal collection exclusively to the internet comes this fabulous advertising game. Dating back to the 1930s or 30s, this rare piece measures approximately 3 1/2" by 1 7/8" Most probably given out when you purchased a pair of Red Goose Shoes, this rare treasure has amazingly survived the years in incredible condition. The graphics, which repeat on either side are vibrant and classic, with the traditional goose and slogans. Laced through the cardboard is a thin cord with a small metal ring on the end. The slogan is as follows: "ALL LEATHER " "HALF THE FUN OF HAVING FEET" "REMOVE STRING FROM CARD WITHOUT UNTYING" "for BOYS for GIRLS" This treasure is a real score...all original and in used, NOT abused condition. The paper is a little soiled, but the graphics are still vibrant and sharp. Surely a welcomed rare addition to the most advanced of collections, why not add this one to yours today?. Feel free to contact me with questions or concerns regarding this piece, and please check out my other auctions for great stuff: I am constantly listing items including signed costume, Bakelite, Victorian, Nouveau, and Deco pieces, and other collectibles!

ELEGANT Cut Crystal Powder Jar Trinket Box NR

Purchased this year on the streets of Paris comes this lovely cut crystal round vanity piece that can be used for pwder or trinkets. It measures about 4 7/8" in diameter and is -nearly 2" tall. I'm unsure of its exact date or origin, but the lovely cut design looks like it is art deco period. The jar has a starburst or sunburst type design in the top and bottom with splendid cutting on the sides and top that match. It is in excellent condition with the desired wear on the bottom to show it was a well loved piece that is NOT a reproduction. A superb example of European or French glass, this is offered for less than my price while in France. I couldn't find a maker's mark on it, but it is as nice as many signed pieces.

Rare Vintage ANTIQUE European Judaic Copper Bed Warmer

I purchased this from a prominent Jewish family in Atlanta many years ago, and because of my own roots, I kept it in my collection. Now, exclusively for your consideration comes this very special antique copper and wooden bed warmer. I am not an expert, so please bear with me. I was told that thisis an authentic late Georgian to early Victorian era piece dating back to the early 1800s. It came from Europe. It is made of copper that has been pierced with cut out shapes of stars, crecents, hearts, diamonds, and circles. It is very irregular and obviously done individually and by hand. The long wooden handle, I'm told is a later addition, the original one evidently needed replacing over the years. However, the handle has some alligator crazing on it and is turned on the end, making me believe it is still over a hundred years old. It's attached to the copper section with a wonderfully aged iron fitting. The bedwarmer itself is hinged and crudely constructed, obviously hand made. The handle is about 38" long and the copper warmer itself is about 10" in diameter and 5 1/2" thick. What makes this piece of exceptional historical value is that in the center, very faintly, is the subtle etching of a Jewish star or Star of David (Mogen David). It was very difficult to capture it with my camera, but it is most definitely there. When I purchased it, the owner told me that the star was a way for a Jewish person in Europe to remain loyal to their beliefs without exposing the fact that they were Jews. Not being an expert on the history of anti Semitism, I cannot say for sure exactly where this was occuring. I really am more knowledgeable of the Holocaust during this century and of Hitler, but according to my source, it was necessary to hide your Jewish heritage long before Hitler's Germany.

One of my pictures is an attempt to show you some of the faint etching of the star...please feel free to email me directly if you'd like me to attempt a clearer view of it; also, if you are familiar with more history of this, I welcome any resources or information. Given that this is a very old, perhaps nearly 200 years old, this piece is exceptional. It boasts a rich patina on the copper and appears to be original. The copper does have splits on the edges and the hinge is cracked a bit and loose, but it is better than expected and rich with character and charm. I would not do a thing to it...it's wonderful just as it is and would make an incredible decorative piece, complimenting primitive and folk art decor as well as more modern tastes. I welcome any further information about both bedwarmers in general and the Jewish significance of the star being so faintly etched. It is a fabulous piece, and any museum or personal collection would be enriched with an item of this calibre.

Deco Elgin Money Sovereign Compact Purse!

Straight from a local collection exclusively to the internet comes this fabulous little rare woman's money sovereign (necessary neccessaire). Measuring approximately 3 3/8" by 2 1/4", the miniature silver purse dates back to the 1920s or 30s. Elegantly detailed, I have heard this type of accessory called by different names. It is definitely a compact, but it serves much more of a purpose than the typical compacts of its era. I prefer to call it a ladies' money sovereign or a money purse, but I welcome any additional titles you may care to offer as a suggestion. The piece is marked as follows:"ELGIN AM.MFG.CO. STERLING SILVER MADE IN U.S.A." the top left section of the piece are the initials "B.E.L." in lovely cursive script. It is not too deeply engraved, and though I wouldn't recommend buffing them off, it could be done by a competant jeweler if desired. An accessory like this piece was all the rage in the flapper era of the Roaring Twenties. Women could go out and "Charleston" the night away without having to carry a big clunky purse. instead they would take a little mini-purse like this one. Fitted on the inside, there is a place for some coins (spring loaded), a clip to hold bills, and a hinged door to put a picture in, behind which could be for powder (I think). The attention to detail is superb! From the gold washed damaskeened (terrific machine work) interior, to the intricate deco design etched into the front, it is quite evident that this purse was definitely as aesthetic as it was functional. It even has a nice silver link chain to hang from measuring about 11 inches (5 1/2" on each side when held). This classic piece is in excellent and original condition. The clasp opens and closes tightly and easily, and the piece appears to have been taken very good care of. Used, but not abused, the piece has some wear expected for its age. There are some minor surface scratches in the silver as well as a few small dings...nothing that detracts, however, as the imperfections barely show unless held at a certain angle under a light. The interior is immaculate and complete, and the spring loaded clips are as good as the day it was made! An authentic piece of deco memorabilia!

EXQUISITE OLD PINK MINIATURE ENAMEL COMPACT!

This is a beautiful Pill Box or Mini Powder Compact that looks to date to the early to mid 1900s. It's a splendid and old enamel piece with a detailed and pretty country scene of lovers in a Renaissance Revival style. It's pink with minimal wear on the back to the pink, but the miniature scenic enamel is perfect. What makes this so different and wonderful is the hand painted three dimensional effect of the design. I'd bet that this center piece is actually enamel on copper, but I cannot be 100% sure. With a definite Victorian style, I believe this would date to the art deco or Edwardian era. In very good condition with a great clasp, it measures 1 1/2" in diameter...splendid!

ELEGANT ANTIQUE VICTORIAN ENGLISH STERLING SILVER OVAL BROOCH

This is a splendid Victorian sash pin or brooch that looks to date to the late 1800s to early 1900s. It is heavy and large, weighing about 24 grams, nearly an ounce, and measuring about 2 7/8" by 1 3/4". Well hallmarked, it is signed on the back "STERLING" silver, plus it has the numbers "ES 06052" as well as British hallmarks of a Crown, a shield and a rampant lion. The brooch has horizontal lines that look art deco, though it precedes the art deco era, I believe. Well made, the brooch is an excellent piece in great condition, all original with a "T" and "C" clasp and minimal wear.

This is a sweet little brooch in the open figural shape of a heart or possible a SPADE. It appears to be either gold filled or brass with a gold wash, and it measures approximately 1 3/8" by 1 1/8". It has lovely lines and would make a nice brooch or lapel pin. In the center is a hand set red paste stone that looks like a synthetic ruby or garnet. Dating to the late 1800s to early 1900s, the pin is free of damage or repair and has its original finish and "C" clasp. A sweet deal for a sweet piece!

RARE Nouveau Limoges Vanity Tinket Box w Tray

Direct from my own collection, exclusively to the internet comes this wonderful antique Limoges set. Each piece measuring approximately 4 1/4" across, this authentic art nouveau treasure dates back quite a few years...it is NOT A REPRODUCTION!. I'm not sure, but they were probably made to go on a vanity or dresser...perhaps even as part of a larger vanity set. There's a lovely long oval trinket box or dish and a curvey matching pin tray both made by this most desireable French company. Both pieces are a rich creamy porcelain with the inside of the box a swirly almost pyschedelic lustre ware type finish. It was difficult to catch the purples and other iridescent colors, but they are there and are a nice touch. The two pieces are just screaming of the Art Nouveau period with a total of four hand painted pastel butterflies on them.

The back of the little tray is marked with the Limoges mark as well as the artist's signature. They are as follows"SEYNE" "LIMOGES FRANCE" "E.Glade" The oval piece is marked as follows"D. & C.", "FRANCE". This unique period piece is in excellent condition and without damage or repair. I seldom see such appealing artist signed Limoges...especially authentic Nouveau period items. Perfect to go with your Alfonse Mucha artwork, this is a vanity set sure to appeal to the pickiest of collectors!

STRIKING Deco Carved Celluloid? Necklace

This stunning necklace measures about 15.5" long and probably dates to the early to mid 1900s...1920s to the 40s. It's a delightful choker necklace and has a smart art deco carved design. I'm not sure of the material, and while some people call this bakelite, It's NOT bakelite. It may be celluloid, or another old plastic material, and some have thought that maybe it was a type of ivory or nut. I believe they may be GALALITH, often used in the French designs of LOUIS ROUSSELET. Regardless, this graduated choker necklace is simply awesome! The center beads are an ivory color with black on top. They've been either hand carved or machine carved, and they have the most amazing art deco look. White and black beads, also with carving or machine work, make up the rest of the piece. In excellent condition, they are strung on a metal cord and are secure and free of damage or repair. A fabulous piece for the lover of authentic antique art deco jewelry!

OLD ANTIQUE CARVED IVORY GERMAN? ANDEKEN BROOCH

Size: 2 3/8" by 1" This is a very cool late 19th century to early 20th century souvenir brooch from somewhere in Europe. Probably Germany, I believe, as the word "ANDENKEN" is most likely German.

It is heavily carved and appears to be ivory...I may be wrong and it's bone...either way, it is skillfully carved and very old. It is a carved flower, a rose, I think, and it has lovely openwork that looks like lace or filigree.

The brooch is in fair condition, due to some damage to the end of the word. It still wears nicely, and it is all original with brass findings and an old "C" clasp. I've reduced the price to account for its damage, but it is still a fine piece of Victoriana.

50s-60s Westinghouse Playing Cards Adv NR

Straight from a local estate comes these fun playing cards. I'm not sure, but they appear to date to the 1950s or 60s. They are legal sized and in their original box. All 54 cards are present and in good condition...this includes the two jokers.

The cards are identical to the box which has a picture of some sort of Westinhouse tool...a generator perhaps? Not sure...it says "Westinghouse Life-Line" at the top, and on the flip side of the gold box, it has the phrase, "YOU CAN BE SURE...IF IT'S Westinhouse" The jokers have fun images of a jester falling on his rump with the name "Redslip" below, and the Ace of Spades has the name "Brown & Bigelow" and "ST. PAUL, MINN." on it.

In great condition, the cards show little wear but they do show ageing around the edges, expected for their age. The box is intact with minor wear, less than expected for it's age. Surely a welcomed addition to the most advanced of collections, why not add this one to YOURS today?

A terrific memento from the depression era, this metal plate depicts two school boys in knickers holding their books. Written (backwords, of course) across the bottom is the following:

MRS. JANE HOPKINS BOYDROOP (sp?) CLOTHING for SCHOOL BOYS.

It also has a small round company logo on the top corner as well. Priced quite reasonably, this would surely make a welcomed addition to the most advanced of collections, why not add this one to yours today?

Saleman Sample? Miniature Carton REAL COKES!!

Size: 3 1/4" tall and 3 1/8" by 2" deep and wide Straight from my private collection of coca cola memorabilia comes this vintage carton of miniature Cokes from around the world. The bright little collectible measures about 3 1/4" tall and 3 1/8" by 2" deep and wide. I bought it nearly 15 years ago from a dealer at the Atlanta Lakewood Antique show, and I believe it dates back to the 1950s or 60s. I'm not exactly sure as I have never seen another one.

Carton is made of hard plastic and has the Coca-Cola (Coca Cola) decal on two sides...one in English and the other in a foreign language, perhaps Hebrew. It's divided and inside are 6 little glass bottles, each with actual liquid or Coke syrup inside. Each bottle has Coca Cola decals on them; one in English and on the flip side in the international languages...Chinese, Arabic, Japanese, Hebrew...I'm guessing here...but only one is truly all American.

I believe this is a salesman sample (salesmen sample, salesman's sample) as it is just too realistic to be a toy. The bottles are each realistically made and are capped with aluminum caps (each cap also has the Coca Cola logo on the metal), and the scale appears to be exactly like the big bottles we buy at the store (or used to...remember the 16oz tall ones?? I grew up on those!)

In excellent condition, this is a rare chance to own a terrific piece of Coke memorabilia. It's free of damage or repairs and appears complete and original. The caps have some discoloration and some of the levels of the syrup in the bottles have gone down over the years (evaporated?), but it only serves to authenticate the age and authenticity. My spring cleaning is your good luck!! Bid now on this splendid piece!

ANTIQUE CAST IRON KETTLE by STOVE WORKS HOME

Size: Approximately 12" b y 7" Please let me precede this with a disclaimer that this is NOT my forte...I welcome any information on this piece if you care to share.

This is an antique kettle or tea kettle that is cast iron. It was purchased in Atlanta Georgia and says "HOME STOVE WORKS" on the top, which is a lid that is permanently attached and swivels open.

The kettle appears to be from the early to mid 1900s. It looks as if it was painted a bronze or brass color at one time. It is free of damage or repair and is in good condition. There is some surface soiling and rust, but nothing serious. A fine piece for display in any country kitchen!

ANTIQUE CARVED CORAL BAKELITE BUCKLE

Size: 4" by 2.25" This is an interesting two part art deco era flapper buckle made of either celluloid, bakelite, or another early plastic material. It's a pale orange or coral color and has a terrific classic deco shape.

The buckle appears to be hand carved, but I suppose it could be very nice molded plastic. It has a stylized florral motif with white base metal findings on the back to attach a sash or belt.

In fair condition, the piece shows some wear and staining as illustrated. I haven't done anything to refinish it, but I suppose it could be refinished like some of the bakelite bangles. Sure to clean up well, I am reducing this for a great deal to let you do the work! I have too many things, so thanks for taking on this piece!

Still in its nice original box, this Special Edition Barbie was a Hallmark issue in 1996 as part of the "Be My Valentine Collector Series". She is 2nd in the series.

Barbie is in a deep burgundy velvet dress and is wearing late Georgian early Victorian 1830s attire. A pearl headdress cascades over her forehead, and lace collars and cuffs complete the look.

In excellent condition, she is mint in her origianl box, which shows some shelf wear. She orignally cost $50. I didn't open the box to mke sure, but it promises a replica of an antique Valentine's card inside.

Size: 1 3/4" by 1 1/2" This is a superb piece dating to the early 1900s. It's silver in color, probably a plate, and it has incredible lines with influences of the Victorian era as well as the Arts and Crafts and Art Nouveau periods.

It has an openwork design with a curvy filigree appearance. On the back is a maker's hallmark of a sheild with "FNCC" or something like that.

In excellent condition, the pin is free of damage or repair and shows minimal wear, if any. All origina;, it has a "T" and "C" clasp and retains a nice unpolished patina.

ANTIQUE EDWARDIAN GOLD FILIGREE DIAMOND BROOCH 2 CARATS

Size: 2 7/8" across and 1/2" at it Straight from a local estate in Atlanta comes this incredible Art Deco (late Edwardian era) bar pin. Dating back to the early part of this century, this true period piece is the real thing!! Measuring approximately 2 7/8" across and 1/2" at it's widest point, this lovely piece is a rare treasure I usually only dream of finding.

The classic brooch is amazingly styled of 14K white gold in a openworked filligree design that just screams of the late 1920s to early 30s art deco era. In the center is a round, faceted European cut diamond which I estimate to be about 45 to 50 points...approx. half a carat. It's securely bezel set, and is a bright white stone of a very nice VS2 to S1 clarity. Above and below the center stone are 2 more diamonds of similar quality, which I estimate to be 5 to 7 points each. There is also a bezel set diamond on each end of the pin, each of similar quality of about 10 points each. Additionally, there are 58 more diamonds which I believe to be approximately 1 to 4 points each adorning the piece for a total of about 63 stones and nearly 2 carats of firery diamonds!!

The original clasp has the early type of closure and though the mark is worn, I guarantee it to be at least 14K white gold or better, though it feels like it has the weight of platinum. The actual pin shank is a yellow gold, indicating that it was probably replaced, though unnoticeable. The piece is quite amazing, though it's not 100% perfect. If you hold it at a side view, you can see it is very slightly bent on one side, and in the center on both sides of the center stone, there is a small break in the metal side. This in no way affects the way the piece looks when worn, and all the stones are secure and intact with no missing stones. I've included photos to try to illustrate the shortcomings, and as you can see, it is only evident when very closely scrutinized. That said, this piece is in excellent and wearable condition and would make quite the find for the pickiest of collectors or appreciators of authentic period jewelry!

Please bear in mind that I am NOT a gemologist and my assessment of the stones are my estimations based on my experience in the jewelry business for nearly 15 years. I am offering this at a reserve of far less than appraised value, and will guarantee it to your satisfaction or your money back...risk free!! I am confident that the buyer of this piece will realize what a rare and lovely treasure it is!

PICTURE TO COME SOON...MY HOST SERVER WNET OUT OF BUSINESS AND I WILL BE TAKING NEW PHOTOS SHORTLY!
