Centripetal Chairs Am. Chair Co A pair of Cast Iron chairs by Thomas Warren for the American Chair company Troy New York circa 1849-52. These museum quality chairs maintain there original painted backs, the surface is original and unrestored. The chairs also maintain the original fringe & the fabric on the seat and back is recovered in a most similar fabric to the original in color and texture. Surprisingly, both chairs maintain the original ink stamp label of the American Chair Co, along with the rarer paper label. The chairs have been sold to two museums, The Brooklyn Museum & the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. A centripetal chair was exhibited in London at the Crystal Palace Exposition of 1851
