Superb C1915 Sterling Basse Taille Enamel Orchid Pin A glistening surface of basse taille enamel brings a lifelike appearance to this circa 1915 sterling pin. It measures 1 5/8" wide and 1 3/8". The orchid has white petals accented with cobalt and amethyst enamel; the concave center is an aqua-green. The open sterling frame supports the flower without overwhelming it. The pin is stamped "Sterling" on the flower and twice on the frame and closes with safety clasp. This Edwardian botanical beauty is in excellent condition!

Antique C1900 Sterling & Sodalite Edwardian Transitional Pin This circa 1900 cast sterling silver pin is set with three half-domes of sodalite or similar hard gemstone in a airy, scroll-work motif that reflects a transition from the more naturalistic Art Nouveau to the increasingly elaborate Edwardian influences in design. The pin is 2 5/8" wide and 1 ¼" high. Bead-edge curves and applied bosses (balls) enhance the lacy effect of the filigree. The pin shaft (which may not be sterling) secures with a C clasp. There are no markings and the pin tests as at least .925 sterling in silver purity though it could be higher. It is in wonderful condition and has a pleasing patina which highlights the fine detail

Superb EDWARDIAN Sterling Guilloche Enamel Sash Pin in Lilac & White This exquisitely detailed Edwardian sterling guilloche’ sash buckle brooch is crisply enameled in soft lilac and white. The 3" wide oval displays several patterns on the engine-turned base: floating ovals, fan-shaped palmettes, and parallel ribs. The clever design even includes the clasp tongue, in silver, which is soldered on the left end only to allow your garment’s fabric to show directly beneath. The back of the sash brooch is gilt gold on "Sterling" as marked. (I polished it lightly so as not to disturb the gilding.) The pin shaft secures with a C-clasp. This circa 1910 enameled beauty has impressive size, the quality is superb, the condition perfect.

1901 English Sterling Silver GRYPHON Lion-Eagle Ring, Adjustable Cigar Band The mythical gryphon (also spelled griffon or griffin) is a creature with the head, talons, and wings of an eagle and the body of a lion. Popular in British lore, this animal with the body of the King of Beasts and the wings of the King of Birds, is known as a guardian of treasure having divine powers. This cigar-band style ring is made of sterling silver and has an impressed image of the gryphon center front. The ring is ½" wide and currently a size 8 though you could close it a bit or open it quite a bit.
The hallmarks include "SD" in joined squares and, in linked octagons are an indistinct circular mark (leopard head?)/passant/A (serif style) which indicate the ring was made in Chester in 1901. The condition is very fine, with only slight surface scuffs. Whether you prefer fact or fiction, the actual history of the gryphon in lore is real and maybe the creature is too? Wear this ring and see what kind of story you’re inspired to tell!

Antique ARTS & CRAFTS Pierced Sterling & Sodalite Pendant Necklace This sleek and sensuous hand-cut and pierced Arts & Crafts sterling pendant is inset with an oval cabochon of opaque deep blue/cream gemstone, probably sodalite. This circa 1900 pendant is 2 1/8" long and has raised centers in the scrolls above and below the gemstone, hand-hammered from the back. "Sterling" is stamped on the reverse.
I added a 26" twisted, interwoven link sterling chain with spring-hook clasp. The tab is stamped marked "Milor, B&B, Made in Italy" on the two sides. The pendant and chain are in excellent condition; I have left the finish of the pedant as found as collectors often prefer this. The piece is distinctive and speaks very strongly to the time when hand-crafted silver jewelry featuring the bounty of nature’s more unusual gemstones was prized, as it still is, a century later.
The scarab is hand0carved carved of what appears to be lapis lazuli and is set in a beaded bezel mounting. The rosebuds are all hand-formed as are the sterling leaves and soldered to an oval frame. This frame is not marked but tests as sterling. The pin shank is secured with a C-clasp. I would date the piece to about 1910 and it is in wonderful condition and merges the exoticism of Egypt with the eternal beauty and romance of roses. This lovely pin can also be worn as a pendant when hung vertically on a ribbon or chain with a bit of thickness to offset the width of the clasp and add some importance worthy of the handcrafted bijoux.

Vintage .800 Silver HORSE Heads, Horseshoes, and Stallion Bracelet This vintage .800 purity silver bracelet has an unusual array of horse-themed links: horseshoes encompassing a trio of horse or stallion’s heads; a standing steed; and end links of buckled bridles. The entire length of the bracelet is 7 ¾" and just under 1" high at the center, upright, horseshoe.
The bracelet has very sharp detail and patina which enhances it thus you can discern the facial details and even bridles of the portraits as well as the joints and muscles of the standing horse. The bracelet secures with a toggle clasp. It is not signed and it tests as .800 silver fineness. The construction method could have been done any time from about 1890 to 1950, and the beloved subject matter will always be in style.

VICTORIAN Sterling Engraved BOW with Cobalt Enamel BUCKLE Pin This darling Victorian engraved sterling bow pin is clasped with a separate buckle enameled in cobalt blue. The dimensional looped design is 1 ¾" wide by 7/8" high by 3/8" deep. The engravings on the ribbon are done by hand with plumes or scrolls on the loops and a woven look on the tail.
The buckle is domed and enameled in a rich cobalt blue, wonderful condition. It actually slides a little up and down on the ribbon. The pin shaft extends a bit beyond the bow as was the style in the second half of the 19th century and has a T-bar hinge; the clasp is the C style. The silver tests as sterling purity.
This circa 1880 bow pin is a special variation on a favorite theme and is just the right size to wear at a collar or on a lapel, even suitable for lighter weight fabrics.

C1915 EDWARDIAN Sterling Bracelet with Blue Crystals & Bead Drops This circa 1915 sterling silver bracelet has fancy, pierced links set with faceted blue pastes and finished with a pair of dangling chain fringes with blue crystal bead drops. The bracelet is 7 3/8" long and 9/16" wide. Three rose-cut round blue crystals are bezel-set in the centers of the squared links. The lacy oblong links alternate around the squares. The clasp is a spring-ring style stamped "Sterling."
The fringes are 2 ½" long and end with faceted oblongs of blue crystal. These drops simulate the sliders on Victorian bracelets which served as a closure; here, the drops add counterweights to the back of the bracelet so the jeweled links stay on top of your wrist. Clever and stylish!
The bracelet is in wonderful condition and adds a note of Belle Epoque romance to your ensemble.

C1920 Edwardian / DECO Sterling Color-Change Faux ALEXANDRITE Crystal Pendant This beautiful circa 1920 late Edwardian – Art Deco sterling silver pendant necklace has a secret that reveals itself as you move through different types of light: the cut-crystal stone is a synthetic alexandrite that changes color!
The strongly Cubist style of the frame around the crystal measures ¾" by 5/8" and the total height of the pendant including the elaborate pierced filigree ornament above is 1 7/8".
I photographed the pendant on black so you could see the fine, lacy detail of the rhodium-plated filigree and the white beads. These photos were done in the equivalent of full-spectrum (sunlight) light and show the blue topaz color of the crystal. Under fluorescent lighting, the crystal, which has a faceted back as well, has a lavender hue as seen on the white background.
Each 8 1/4" chain on the necklace is accented with three milky glass beads. They meet at a spring-ring clasp stamped "Sterling" and the necklace has a total inner measurement of 17 ¼". This eternally feminine necklace is in wonderful condition and is not only elegant, but entertaining!

Antique Sterling & Carnelian HORSE HEAD Watch Fob with Seal This antique, cast sterling silver horse head watch fob has strong character and is augmented with a carnelian base which is both ornamental and practical as it can be engraved to use as a wax seal. The 3-D fob is 1" high and 1" from nose to mane. The casting is very fine and shows the details in the mane, eyes, and nostrils. The inside of the ears have a light coral color enamel inlay.
A hand-made chain of rounded and flattened links, 2" in length, leads to a very clever hook clasp. The screw base of the hook can be twisted out to allow you to open the hook; when twisted in, the whole head of the closed hook swivels 360 degrees in both directions.
The carnelian tablet at the base has a white underlayer; the face is smooth and free of engraving and scratches. This circa 1900 fob is not marked but tests as sterling silver. For the watch collector or lover of horse-themed jewelry, this is a very special find.

C1915 EDWARDIAN Blue Glass Pendant Necklace in Crystal-Set Floral Frame This circa 1915 Edwardian era pendant boasts a large blue molded glass faceted jewel capped by cast flowers set with sparkling paste rose-cut crystals—ornament upon ornament! The pendant is 1 7/8" high and about 1 ½" wide. The patinated flowers are deeply stamped for realism and three have rosette foiled crystals in their center. The blue glass oval is 1 1/4" high—quite sizable--and is bezel-set in a serrated mounting. It does have some light surface wear and two tiny surface nicks.
Above the pendant are two individual flowers, each with a rosette, that meet the silver-plated chain to form a continuous necklace of about 32 ½" in length. The women of the Belle Epoque period wore their pendants long and swinging low! The style is elegant and timeless—try it with the naturally matching denim in a casual style or go more formal in the Edwardian manner.

ART NOUVEAU Victorian Sash Pin Brooch with LG Topaz Glass Jewel This Victorian period sash pin or brooch has a simple Art Nouveau style with four flowers joined by leafy garlands within a modified oval frame which holds a very intensely colored topaz glass jewel.
The brooch measures 3 ¼" wide by 2 ¼" high. The faceted, molded glass jewel is 1 ¼" wide and held by prongs that are part of the stamped body. The color of the stone is rich and the glass is free of bubbles, scratches, and cracks.
The brooch has the C-clasp style closure on the pin, common before 1900. The finish on the front is a soft and lustrous silver plate and the back shows more of the natural oxidation of time. Such larger pieces were once worn on wide sashes at the waist and today are very suitable for jacket or coat collars, sweaters, hats, heavier cloth shirts, or even on ribbons as chokers for the truly fashion forward lady with a taste for styles of bygone days.

C1920 Carved Coral Floral Glass & Gilt Brass Filigree Long Drop Earrings It’s always a treat to find period pendant earrings in pristine condition—unaltered and lovingly cared for—and these circa 1920 faux coral and gilt brass drop style earrings are "just the ticket" for the woman who likes lacy Edwardian or fancy early Deco styles. Each earring is 2 3/8" long by 11/16 wide. The carved-look coral flower plaques are molded glass, most likely Bohemian / Czechoslovakian. They are finely detailed—you can even see the veins on the tiny leaves.
The gilt brass pierced settings have mille-grain "beaded" finishes. The adjustable screw-top findings are slim and comfortable. The pair is in superb, unworn condition.

The bracelet measures 6 ¾" in length across the patinated links. Open oval links with whiplash-style curves (particularly evident in the center links) alternate with four-lobed coin-form links. The bracelet is 1/2" at the side links and 1" wide at the center link. Each of these three center links is set with an opaque red glass cabochon (like from Czechoslovakia); the two side stones are a tiny bit darker in hue than the center.
The rare clasp is self-adjusting. When at its widest, the full length of the bracelet is about 8 ¾" long. Once you slide the bracelet on, the two oval glass beads on the ends of the chain fall downward through the law of gravity and cinch the bracelet to suit the wearer! It’s never too tight or too loose and can be worn over a sleeve as well.
Condition is wonderful with no damage and brilliant color on those beads—and both the front and back of this intriguing style bask in their red glow!

The color of the, collet-set, pear-shaped gem is the favored purple-red of the Almandine variety of garnet, no brown or orange undertones here. The claw-set natural pearl above is quite baroque in shape. The one below is nearly perfectly round with gorgeous luster. The pendant is not marked but tests positive as 10K gold. I have supplied it with an old stock, never worn, 18" long gold-filled chain with spring-ring clasp (tab is stamped "CA Co. 1/20 12K GF"). The necklace is in wonderful condition and has the quintessential look of Edwardian period pendants worn during the Belle Époque.
