Black Americana Stereoview Color Photo Black Memorabili Black Americana stereo card 7 inches long 3 1/2 inches wide. Stereo cards were all viewed in a stero scope. Colorful card of two small girls ne with her back to the viewer the second faces the viewer and the child is eating watermelon. Small frinkles on the corners, there is no color loss to the photo. Below the right photo is the number 7. "Did you say watermelon was no good?" On the cards backNo. & ttle repeated then "Give me liverty and watermelon! Let the pampered epicure rave over a French ragout, a Chinee bird's nest soup or lobster a la Newburg, we ....... etc. then at the end the card number A8523. I've read the age is generally known by the color of the back of the card. This was white not aged tan. White, creamy, glossy were the earliest made from 1854 - 1860. The corners are rounded, however i believe the corners were first rounded in 1870 to prevent card damage, the corners are round on this Black Americana card. (E 258) i have 47 other stereocards if you are searching for a particular category. Oliver Wendel Holmes invented the viewer. Stereoview Stereocard

68
Vintage women's jeweled 'undersleeves' Vintage be-jeweled undersleeves, were to be pinned under my lady's dress and removed to preserve the extremely decorative design. The overall length is approximately 20" long, half being the plain undersleeve, the other half lace and jewels! The "fancy outtersleeve is 7" of lace, followed by 3" of crochet designs. There are some areas where the sleeves had not been completed, lacking some of the small white beads, these have not fallen off as you can see where the flower has not been sewn through to attach the beads., aside from that these are nearly MINT condition, appear to have never been worn. The lace is ecru and MAGNIFICEN T. I am not a lace expert am unable to verify but it may be hand made. The crochet also appears hand done. Small white beads surround each crocheted flower petal, there are approximately 40 very large, bright rhinestones sewn into each sleeve. There are 5 2x2" flowers on each arm, each containing 4 rhinestones apiece. The decorative sleeves range in width from approximately 16" to 12". I have NEVER seen another set.

672
Advertising Art Primitive Cartoon Bar Sign Advertising Folk art or Advertising, it's a hard call. This wood framed cartoon is 15" across, 10 3/4" tall.. At the top it says" Bar-X- Ranch". Under that it says " We serve Brown-Forman famous Kentucky whiskies. On the mirror is printed "Bottoms up" "Early TImes" "OLD FORESTER" There are 5 people sketched, the little man on the left has an arrow leading to his head that says "Little Sammy" the bartender "Jim" next "Bert" then "His Royal Highness President Morris" and lastly "Hook". The bottles on the bar are marked "Old Forester, Bottom Up" The register says "No Sale" the title below the men says "Waiting for a Live ONe" and under that "If Ed McGettigan would only pay his dollar." By the dog in the lower rights it says "mascot". The picture to the left is a boxer, below it says "Skip McSorley" and on the right under the woman on the calender "Floor show". From the frame and the masonite backboard that may have been added later, I am guessing this is from the 40s, or early 50s and likely hung in a bar where the patrons Jim, Morris, Hook, Bert & Ed hung out. Thre is some yellowing or browning around the edges of the picture, from age? smoke? or possibly just dirt that could be removed, it doesn't look out of place tho on the type of paper, we've enjoyed its humor in our home "as is". on the back is a typed paper that states "103rd headquarters Troop Club Newton Square Penn. Edwin Blair joined in 1939" cartoon art primitive folk art barware
