50's grey lamp with red shade Here is a great 50's grey ceremic base lamp about 8 inches high and 4 inches wide at base. I can't find makers mark on it but still has the felt piece glued to the bottom. Lamp shade is 10 inches high and 4 inches wide at top & 9 inches wide at bottom. The cardboard type shade has a red brick pattern. Both in good condition. The lamp base has a small pinhole - my guess is it was in the mold. e-mail me with any questions

Motion Picture Production Code 1956 This is an amazing piece of film history! "The Motion Picture Production Code" produced by the Motion Picture Association of America, Inc. in December 1956 contains the rules governing what movies could and could not contain at the time. My how things have changed! In addition to the rules, this pamphlet outlines the reasons underlying those rules. It is truly fascinating reading and a must have for any true movie lover. This item is in good condition, with a small bend on the bottom right of the front cover, a small rust stain on the bottm back cover and a faint impression at the top from being paper clipped for a long time. It measures 5 and 3/8 inches by 8 and 3/8 inches, and is 12 pages long.

tcl007
Pictorial New Zealand Ahh, beautiful New Zealand. This "photgraphic study" of the country in all its black and white splendor is undated, but I would guess that it dates from the late 1940s. Filled with lovely photos and sidebars that read like old Movie News reels, "Pictorial New Zealand" was produced by New Zealand's own Whitcombe and Tombs, Ltd. It measures 9 and 5/8 inches by 9 and 3/8 inches and is 60 pages long. It's not in pristine condition; the spine is crackled as if it's been subjected to a bit too much twisting, the cover is lightly scuffed, and the pages are naturally yellowed with age. All in all, still a lovely volume to page through and admire.

tcl008
Every Man a King or Might-In-Mind-Mastery Orison Swett Marden has some ideas about how you can become the king of your own castle. Author of many, many self help books in the early portion of the 20th Century, this volume takes the cake. "Every Man a King," copyright 1906, published September 1906 by Thomas Y. Crowell Company Publishers, contains such chapters as "Killing Emotions," "Gain Beauty by Holding the Beauty Thought," and "The Coming Man Will Realize His Divinity." Measuring 5 and 1/4 inches by 7 and 1/2 inches, with 240 pages plus adverts, this volume is in quite good condition. The front and back covers maintain their vibrant red. Unfortunately, the spine has faded somewhat. Still, I believe that this volume makes an absolutely wonderful gift for the right person.

tcl009
NBC Broadcasting in the Public Interest In the time of radio, NBC had a number of guidelines for what certain types of radio shows could and could not contain. This volume "Broadcasting in the Public Interest" outlines those rules. Although it is not dated, it contains multiple references to being the year 1939. It's an amazing piece of National Broadcasting Company history. It's in pretty good condition, with the right top and bottom corners slightly thumbworn, a former owners name written in pencil on the top right of the front cover, and two library stamps, one faint on the front cover and one stronger on the first page. It is 6 by 9 inches and is 80 pages long. This is a fascinating piece. Highly recommended.

tcl011
Boy on Trapeze, Rubber Circus Toy You're looking at an amazing flip toy called Boy on Trapeze still in the original box! This little fellow flips over the bar when you turn a knob. He was manufactured in Japan, patent no. 30-23220. I have no idea when exactly he dates to, but my guess is the late 1930's. Toy buffs out there feel free to correct me. The box is brightly colored and has a number of circus scenes and the original carrying string still at the top of the box and functional. The boy has seen some better days. At some point he lost his right leg which was made of a balloon type rubber. It also appears that the left post came loose at some point in the past and was reglued to the base. This toy is made out of some type of hard green rubber, or rubber like plastic, I'm not precisely certain what type. The box is in good condition, but has some scars and rips, but remains very visually appealing. Despite its flaws this unusual little toy makes a fantastic gift for the toy lover or child at heart in your life.

lih01
1920's Novelty Plaster Lamp Amber Glass Shade plaster 13 inches high by 6 inches wide This is the most unusual 1920's novelty lamp I've seen. It looks like a boy leaning on a wishing well that has a fireplace in the well and a dog laying in front of the fire. The lamp works great. It is all original including the wiring.
The lamp stands 13 inches high and is 6 inches wide. The predominent color is green with gold undertones. The frosted amber glass shade is 4-tiered and in very good shape. The lamp itself is made out of plaster and does have a few nicks. It also has 4 light green paint splashes on it. Some of the original label is still on the bottom of the lamp but it doesn't give any information about the lamp itself.
The piece is a great conversation starter. If you need more photos, please email us.

Bright Floral Psychadelic Skirt This is a rockin' skirt, if I do say so myself. Bright blue, black, and white flowers with green stems sweep through this skirt, which is ready made for twirling in.

The waist is 25" around and the skirt is 38" long. There is a zipper in the back. Lovely condition, I don't see any flaws.

(While the colors are quite vivid, the camera flash makes them seem brighter than they actually are. The blues are actually somewhat darker (like Crayola cerulean).)
