Click for more detail...
FUR09-3
19TH CENTURY SHENANDOAH VALLY WOVEN BACK ROCKING CHAIR This is a great old porch rocker from the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. It dates back to the mid-19th century and retains its original splint seat and back. It stands 42 inches at its back and is in good solid condition. There are a couple of broken splints in the seat, but the seat remains firm. I bought this chair from a Valley dealer who told me it was a classic "Yoder" rocking chair, especially due to the unique weaving of the chairs back and the back post turnings. Other Valley chair makers are known to have used this same weaving technique.

This rocker is too large to be shipped through the normal channels, so it will require freight, which the Buyer must arrange and pay for. Local pickup is a good option (and its free). Delivery throughout most of Virginia and much of North Carolina can br arranged for a nominal fee (this would include a delay because it would be within the range of our normal travels - ask).

Virginia buyer pays 5% sales tax
