LEVI STRAUSS NEON SIGN
This eye-catching Levi's neon sign was used with the Levi's merchandise display in a family owned New Hampshire department store that recently went out of business. The sign is 16" in diameter with a not quite denim deep blue background. The blue disc is made of rigid glass-like plastic and is in perfect condition. The name Levi's lights up in a wonderful rich red glow (not the yellow/orange shown by the camera). It stands upright on a pair of sturdy metal legs or could be hung on the wall or from a shelf by a set of protective brackets at the top that have holes in them. The cord is like-new and has a three-prong grounded plug. The piece was made in the 80's. If you collect neon, Levis' advertising, want a great piece for a game or boy's room, or maybe a unique nite-light, this would be the item for you. Email us with any questions. |

ARIS DRIVING GLOVES DISPLAY
Look! Ma! No hands!! This is a really good looking Aris, "ISOTONER DRIVING GLOVES", counter display in nearly mint condition. The black hard plastic background has automotive graphics and is 13" high, 10" wide, and stands on a 6" long bent foot. The heavy metal "hands" extend out 1" to 2 1/2 ", sort-of 3D style, and are securely bolted to the rear. Dry your wet gloves, hang stuff from the "hands", or, just add it to your funky decor. The display came from a family-owned department store in Dover, N.H., that recently went out of business. |

THE BLESSED TELEPHONE~HARRIET SMITH~c1913
12 page illustrated booklet put out by the New England Telephone and Telegraph Co. "connected to the great Bell System" . It features a mini drama by Harriet Lummis Smith that essentially extolls the benefits of having a telephone, "A Study in Neighborliness" as it were. The back page has some interesting phone data and points to the social benefits of the phone and sort-of urges you to sign-up for the serice. Seems not much has changed! "Interesting, useful and valuable information" 34 page booklet published by Harry Ring of Portland Maine back in ??????Guessing late 1890's early 1900's based on the nature of the things covered and the fact that they also promoted Dr Miles Remedies..e.g. Nervine, Blood Purifer, Nerve Plasters...so I guess stress is not a new thing. Dotty, Bob and their dog, Trix on a world adventure is the subject of this series of collector card inserts from Hathaway Cream Bread..."The Best Loaf for Children"....These cards appeared on Wed and Fri each week and featured African and Australian images. This particular one shows the kids in Australia with two naughty Cockatoos. The bottom tabs formed an easel for displaying your collection of which there were 12 in all. |

PUBLIC BENEFIT BOOT TIN
Attractive and colorful advertising tin for the Public Benefit Boot Co.located in St. Pauls and St. Leeds, England. Hard to tell, but I think this was for boot or shoe polish. Tin measures 6 3/4” x 5 1/2” and 3 1/2 tall. It is very colorful and has lots of writing and is crammed with pictures. Interior is pretty clean, and just one small dent in the bottom left edge. Nice collector item. |

BAKELITE SILENT BUTLER
This very substantial, showy, Silent Butler measures 7 5/8" x 5 1/4" and has a 5 1/4" handle. The handle and 1/4" thick cover are made from Bakelite that has aged into a rich, deep, butterscotch color that beautifully matches the golden bronze finish on the metal parts. It has a distinctly Deco design, and looks like it dates from the 40's or 50's. It's in excellent condition and the impressive lid is perfect. |

CHARTREUSE ROSE BOWL WITH FLORALS
Victorian Rose bowl in an unusual chartreuse to pale, pale blue color, with hand painted florals. There are eight crimps in the top and the bowl has a nice soft satiny feel. The bottom has nice wear with a fully ground pontil. This is definitely not an Italian or English repro! The bowl is 5 1/2" x 4 1/2" and in great condition. There is just one tiny rough spot from what may be a burst bubble, that's it. |

CUT GLASS BASKET
Wonderful piece of cut glass..imagine it filled with fruit, flowers or Holiday decorations. This basket has unusual horizontal facets giving it an Art Moderne look. There is a scalloped rim and a starburst design on the base. The basket measures 9 1/2” long, 7 1/2” wide and 9” high. There is a tiny etched mark in one of the facets which could be the designers signature. However, we have been unable to decipher it. Basket is perfect, free from any nicks of chips. We guess it to be at least 70 years old, but the design is truly timeless. |

STAINED RUBY GLASS FOOTED COMPOTE
Beautiful Floral cuts of several types in this Victorian Ruby Stained compote. Looks like morning glories and lily of the valley, among others.
Even the edges are delicately scalloped. Ruby stain was and is as popular as regular ruby glass, and was more affordable than the cut-to-clear pieces. This pretty compote would be so festive at Holiday time with candies or tiny cookies. While there are no cracks or chips in this piece, it does look like one edge may have been ground smooth, either that, or it was made slightly uneven. Even though it does not detract from the item, we have considered this in the pricing. The dish is about 7" in diameter and stands about 4 1/2" high. |

SATIN GLASS VASE~HP WREN~OLD
Lovely old satin glass vase, probably English, with hand painted bird which appears to be a wren. The vase stands 5 1/8" high with a 2" diameter top. The picture of the rim is to show the wear to the gold trim, it is not chipped or nicked. We tried to find some artist's signature on the bird, but no luck. It is very well done. We generally ship to domestic customers by USPS Priority Mail, so buyer will add $ 3.95 plus applicable insurance. |
