Herand Openwork Plate - Rothschild Bird
Since 1826, Herend has produced one of the most outstanding and distinctive porcelains in a small village near Budapest, Hungary. Each piece is handpainted by the Herend artists. This piece was obtained by me around 1979. Rothschild Bird (RO) by Herend is a handpainted bird, floral, insect design on porcelain. This exquisite round reticulated open work plate measures 9-3/8" in diameter. The Rothschild Bird design is featured in the center and surrounded by a pierced openwork floral border in lovely pastel colors. The slightly flaired plate has a scalloped edge trimmed in gold.The underside of base is marked in blue: Herend Handpainted Hungary #8434/RO. There are no chips or cracks--the condition is absolutely perfect as it has been the pride of my Herend collection!

This piece was obtained by me around 1979. Rothschild Bird (RO) by Herend is a handpainted bird, floral, insect design on porcelain. This lovely round open work basket measures 4-1/4" in diameter and stands 2" high. It is slightly flaired with soft green handles on either side. The Rothschild Bird design is featured in the center and inside open weave is white trimmed in gold. The scalloped edge on top is also trimmed with gold as is the base. Outside weave of bowl is white trimmed with pink. The underside of base is marked in blue: Herend Handpainted Hungary #7413/RO. There are no chips or cracks - MINT!

This lovely oval open work basket measures 8-1/4" long, 6-1/4" wide and stands 2-1/4" high. The center features the Rothschild Bird design with four butterflys and gold trims the openwork both inside and out. The slightly flaired scalloped edge on top is trimmed in gold as well as the base. The underside of base is marked in blue: Herend Handpainted Hungary #7403/RO. There are no chips or cracks - MINT! |

Hummel Annual Plate by Goebel- 1972
"Hear Ye, Hear Ye" is the second in a series of Hummel Annual Plates made by W. Goebel Porzellanfabrik in W. Germany. This plate features a boy blowing on a horn as a night watchman with M.I. Hummel impressed on front. The stoneware plate is 7-1/2" in diameter and handpainted in bas-relief. The underside is marked HUM 265 above V with bee. In original box with pamphlet from Goebel, plate has no chips or cracks, although there is a small amount of wear on left lower edge from sitting on a plate stand...box shows some age. |

In 1989 the Schmid Disney Characters Four Star Collection introduced the "Pinocchio 50th Anniversary" collector plate by ANRI. It is a handcarved wooden collector plate measuring 4-3/4" diameter and limited to an edition of 5,000. This plate is numbered 341/5000. The plates were made in Italy for The Walt Disney Company and come in original box with certificate of authenticity. MINT |

This is a vintage round white wooden plate frame for your collectible plate measuring 9.5" in diameter. There are specks of black in the white paint. The frame is trimmed with gold on the inside opening 6.75". The width of the frame is just over 1.25". From Bard's Products, Inc., ILL., this frame was item #139 and comes in original platic bag~never used. |

"PARTNERS" by Walter M. Baumhofer - 1956
Walter Martin Baumhofer (1904-1987) lived in New York (USA) all his life, studied at the PRATT Institute and began his career doing pen and ink story illustrations in 1925. He soon became known as the "King of Pulp" for his cover paintings on such magazines as Adventure, Danger Trail, Argosy, and 41 Doc Savage covers for Liberty. During the 1930s and 1940s he sold freelance illustrations to many women’s magazines such as Cosmopolitan, Redbook, American Weekly and Woman’s Day. By the 1950s he switched to illustrating men’s adventure magazines such as True, Outdoor Life and others.
"PARTNERS" is oil on board, was painted in 1956 and I have been told it was used for a calendar and may have appeared on the November 1956 cover of Outdoor Life. The painting is a lovely Fall scene featuring rolling hills, a field with trees in background with two hunting dogs, a setter and pointer flushing out a covey of quail. The inside measurements are 29.75" x 21.25", signed in the lower right corner Walter M. Baumhofer , the mat measures 1" surrounded by a 3" wooden frame.
The backside is marked: "Partners" by Walter M. Baumhofer on the top left side corner, Walter M. Baumhofer, 56 School Street, Northport, N.Y. 11768 on lower left corner, "Partners" 1956 in center, and statement: All reproduction rights remain the property of the artist. Permission for reproduction must be secured from the artist". I currently have all rights to this painting and will transfer to new owner. MINT CONDITION and PAINTING COMES FROM A NON-SMOKING HOME.
