Richard Mock Desert Visions 10 Linocut
Very interesting linocut by Richard (Basil) Mock. Born 1944, died July 26, 2006. Mock was a painter, sculptor and editorial cartoonist. His editorial illustrations appeared on the Op-Ed page of the New York Times from 1980 to 1996. His social and political commentary was reflected in his prints. His work is shown in the Smithsonnian American Art
Museum among other galleries. This black and white linocut is titled Desert Visions #10. It is number 11 of 35. Nicely framed in a black frame with white mat. |

Salvadore Dali Don Quixote Etching
Dali’s Don Quixote was part of his Spanish Immortals series. This etching is from the late 60’s, signed in the plate, not hand signed. There is a brief history of Dali on the back, and a certificate of authenticity reading: Societe de Verificaqtion de la Nouvelle Gravure Internationale of New York and Paris…..Nicely matted and framed.
In the early 1960s Dali was commissioned by Jean Schneider, a Swiss Publisher, to produce a print edition based on historically interesting Spanish figures, both real and fictious; five figures chosen were: Cervantes , Don Quixote, El Cid, El Greco and Velasquez.
In 1968, the Collectors Guild, published this edition of the Immortals, an unlimited and unsigned edition. To distinguish between the two editions, Dali scratched his name within the image on each of the five plates.

Vintage Butterscotch Bakelite Bangle Bracelet is 3/4 inches wide with a carved leaf like design on two sides.Nice rich golden color. There are a few small indentations in the bakelite on the surface which really doesnt detract from the piece. Looks like someone tested for bakelite on the inside of the bracelet with a hot pin as there are a few pin holes, but didnt have to do that because by rubbing and smelling the bracelet, it certainly indicates bakelite. Real attractive piece. |
