VINTAGE McCoy ORANGE ON GREEN LEAF FRUIT PLANTER
planter 5 in x 4 in This McCoy Orange form planter is among the harder to find of the fruit planters made by McCoy in the 1950's. The base is marked with the McCoy USA mark. DIFFICULT TO FIND!
In good condition, with some crazing; as with the majority of these Oranges, this one has lost its original cold paint and is now compeletly yellow except for a few flakes of orange color; there are two tight hairlines to the rim, and one chip to a leaf tip. |

HANDMADE PERUVIAN CHULUCANA ART POTTERY VASE - SIGNED J. SOSA
11 ins diameter x 9 ins high This stunning large art pottery vase was made at the Chulucanas pottery located on the north coast of Peru. The base color is a very dark brown to black and is decorated in reverse with deep orange dots.
The Chulucanas pottery has been creating unique clay items for centuries. The inhabitants of the town of Chulucana descend from the Tallanes, the ancient pre-Columbian people that inhabited this region. They developed the negative, or reverse technique, ceramics displayed today in some museums under the name of Vicús pottery.
The vase is signed and dated on the base by José Sosa. He began working with pottery in 1975 and continues working today with his wife Rosita. The vase is in very good condition, with one minor rim chip, no cracks.

5 ins high x 7 ins diameter Early Roseville spittoon or cuspidor with embossed pea pod, flower & bow garland with a ribbed rim; the blended glaze shades from forest green at rim to a purplish-brown. Unmarked and dates from early years of Roseville production, 1898 to early years of 20th c. Would make a great planter for fresh or dried arrangements!
Condition: Excellent; no cracks or chips; some overall glaze crazing under magnification; normal age/use wear to footrim; a few minor factory pin holes in glaze;some irridescence to glaze. |

Unmarked except for mould number 740; dates from 1930 +/-

ANTIQUE VICTORIAN FOLK ART PAINTED WOOD WORK SEWING BOX
13.75 x 11 x 3 This large lovely antique Victorian rectangular work or sewing box is hand decorated in the Folk Art style, the veneered lid having an oval cartouche encircling hand painted flowers on a black ground. The stepped hinged lid is further decorated with gesso (plaster) C-scrolls at each corner enclosing a grain painted ground (painted to simulate burl wood). The sides are also similarily grain painted. The interior is lined in rose pink silk. Dating from the 3rd quarter of the 19th c., this box was not supplied with tools & therefore has no interior fittings {the lose interior fittings shown in image are not original to this box but are a later 20th c. addition}. CONDITION: very good condition, some chipping and age cracks to gesso decoration, a few very minor age cracks to veneered top, hand painted floral decoration in very good condition.

3 1/2 x 2 x 3/4 inches A nice masculine Victorian era/19th c. inlaid black paper mache trinket box; top with piano hinge and wood inlaid cartouche. Small boxes like this were usually used to hold ladies hair pins or men's shirt studs; this one was found with shirt studs inside.
Condition: some minor overall crazing to lacquer, very minor abrasions to corners; under magnification & strong light there is a man's name (Bud Rea) and an undecipherable word lightly scratched on top inside cartouche |

tureen: 6 ins x 4 ins (w/o lid); stand is 8.5 ins in length Antique Wedgwood Creamware, two-handled Neoclassical sauce or gravy tureen and stand. From a Creamware dinner service, the tureen is decorated with handpainted brown Grape and Ivy leaf border design on a pale yellow ground. The underside of the stand is stamped WEDGWOOD with a stamped decorators mark; this tureen dates to ca 1780 - 1810.
Condition: excellent, one small flake to underside of lid rim, no hairlines, no loss to decoration |

11 ins high x 5 ins diameter This is an outstanding 18th c. style helmet form Minton porcelain pedestal coffee pot made for the Foster Stevens Co.; the pouring spout and high arch handle having gilded relief molded acanthus leaves; the lid with gilded foliate ring handle and molded acanthus leaf medallion; the top rim with gilt bead bands; the body with handpainted floral and laurel leaf garlands above scattered floral bouquets. The base bears Mintons globe and crown mark and Foster Stevens designation, impressed year and decorators marks on footrim. Condition: no loss to handpainted decoration,very minor rubbing to gilt on base, 2 tight hairlines at rim; no chips; dates to ca 1911. |

Engine turned decoration below rim and on handle; further embellished with wide gold bands with black detailing on handle. This jug is possibly an Exhibition Piece (Great Exhibition of 1851) owing to its embellishment with gold bands, which were also used on Pratt's potlids. Incised mark of FR Pratt & Co., Fenton,Staffs, and the number 9 (usually indicates size or style). |

COPELAND SPODE CHELSEA BIRD SQUARE BOWL
9 ins. x 2 3/4 ins high Stunning Copeland Spode bowl of square form with canted or chamfered corners in the Chelsea pattern, also known as the Rock Bird pattern; the interior with peonies and the famous dishevelled bird motif; the pattern outline is printed in black with the design being filled in by hand in overglaze enamels; the rim decorated with flower sprays and trimmed in dark royal blue and orche enamels. Marked on reverse with printed Copeland Spode mark, impressed Copeland crown mark and size mark.
Condition: excellent, two small areas of chipped green enamel to center design, note: chips are in overglaze enamel only and not into paste; no cracks or chips to body, no wear to design |
