German Porcelain Lusterware Plate - Pink Flowers In Vase
Vintage, German porcelain lusterware plate with pierced handles. Pretty design featuring a bouquet of pink flowers in a vase, with a single flower resting at its base. The design is a combination of print and hand decorated stenciling. The pink flowers are in print, while the vase, leaves, four-petal flowers, beading and edge are stenciled in golden tan luster. The plate is also accented with pretty embossed designs fanning out at the handles. The back of the plate is stamped Germany 239. Size: 9 3/8 inches by 8 3/4 inches. Circa: Early to mid 20th century. Condition: Light scratches, and a small chip at the rim.
My Grandma had a collection of figural ceramic shoes - she put little plants or artificial flowers in some of them - I often found coins or old inside others when I played with them. These four delicate porcelain ladies' shoe or slipper figurines from the 1930s to 1950s. The two pink shoes are marked Germany and are just under 3 inches long by 2 inches high. They have applied white roses, blue forget-me-nots, and green leaves at the front and flower decals at the sides. One show looks like it's missing a tiny blue flower. The other pair of shoes are singles. The white with gold trim and blue flowers shoe is 4-1/4 long by 2 inches high. It's marked on the bottom Osborne Hand Painted . The large luster finish she isn't marked. It's 5-1/4 long by 2-3/4 inches high. Both are in excellent condition. Price is for the set of four.
Rorstrand Hand Painted Stromsholms Stott Palace Scenic Plate
This Rorstrand hand painted porcelain scenic wall plate depicts Stromsholm Palace in Sweden and may be an early 20th Century souvenir. It's not modern but I'm not sure of the age. It measures 8-5/8 inches diameter and is in excellent condition with no damage. The back foot is pierced for hanging, and there's a looped hanging wire attached. The plate is marked Stromsholms Slott (Swedish translation for Stromsholm Palace). The brown script Rorstrand logo with three stars is also present. There's also an incised underglaze Rorstrand 3-crown mark with a number that appears to be 141.
Here are 4 classic square salad plates made by Bavaria China in Germany in the late 19th early 20th century. The floral cartouches are bright and beautiful. Note that 2 center cartouches are the same, the other 2 share a different bouguet. There is some wear on the gold trim. No chips, cracks or crazing. 8 1/8 across. In very good antique condition.
Germany Flowered Shoe Figurine Or Vase And Canoe Ashtray
Both of these delicate porcelain figurines were made in Germany in the 1930s or earlier and have applied porcelain flowers. The shoe vase is 2-1/4 high by about 4-1/4 inches long. It has four lacing holes and is decorated with a big pink porcelain rose surrounded by green leaves and tiny purple and blue forget-me-not type flowers. There was probably a thin silk ribbon or bow in the lacing holes at one time. There is a very minor manufacturing flaw above the top right lacing hole, a thin line where the porcelain was separated at firing, less than 1/8 long. The small canoe shape ashtray has a pearl luster finish and measures 4 inches long by 2-1/4 inches wide. The top rim is decorated with pink and yellow applied porcelain roses, green leaves, and blue flowers. Although the yellow rose looks like it's chipped in the photo, I don't think it is - it's glazed over and smooth to the touch. Both pieces are marked Germany on the bottoms.
This Bavarian Porcelain Plate Displays the King Farouk's Crown Insignia. The F I MONOGRAM is followed by the numeral, I. The I is included, assuming the Egyptian thrown would pass down eventually to a Farouk descendent, his progeny. (Farouk was the fourth in his family to ascend to the Egyptian thrown. The 1st was his great-grandfather, Pasha (king Isliam); then his grandfather,King Fuad I; and last, his father, King Fuad II). But King Farouk was the last of his line. He was overthrown and sent into Exile in 1952. Farouk was a passionate collector of fine antiques. The victorious military coup, in need of money, commissioned Southeby's to sell thousands of Farouk's treasures. That is how this very beautiful plate came into the possession of an avid American collector. * Signature Marks on back of plate are BAVARIA in gold. Below 'BAVARIA' are the numerals, 18 and to the side is the Hallmark, which we do not recognize. Beneath those mars are two more numerals in gold: 51. The present owner has asked us to list his Farouk antiques and act as manager/broker in his behalf. We are authorized to offer 6 months lay-away. PLATE IS 11 1/4 DIAMETER. CONDITION: PERFECT. MINT
