Rare set of five Edwin Knowles large egg cups. Pink and white exterior with gold leaf ring, and interior with two pink roses. Egg cups are unmarked. We also have the matching set of double-handled soup bowls for sale, which have the Edwin Knowles mark. See item number 739a. Made in USA. Circa: 1900-1948. Size: 4 1/4 inches tall; 3 1/2 inches diameter. Condition: 3 egg cups with crazing, along with 1 having a chip on foot. (See last photo). 2 egg cups in very good vintage condition.

Two bowls have the roses facing down; three bowls with the roses facing up. Made in USA. Circa: 1900-1948. Size: 2 inches tall; 5 1/8 inches diameter. Condition: Some paint peeling near handles. (See last photo) Picture shown is the one with the worst peeling; the rest are very minor. One bowl has crazing with minor discoloration; one with tight crack, which has discolored; one with 1/8 inch chip at rim. This is a very old and hard-to-find pattern. I also have the matching egg cups to this set, which are very rare. (See item number 739b)

Gravy pitcher has pretty, embossed designs, an embossed scroll handle, a nice, shapely rim, and a scalloped foot. An array of blue flowers is also displayed on the inside of the pitcher. Made in USA. Circa: 1900-1948. Size: 2 3/4 inches tall to rim, or 4 inches to spout; 8 1/4 inches long x 3 3/4 inches wide. Condition: Very good; some fading of gold trim and some discoloration on handle.

Green backstamp with Mayflower symbol: The Edwin M. Knowles China Co., Made in USA, 35-3, ('35' is likely the actual year of manufacture). The larger platter is 11 long x 8.5 wide; small platter is 8.25 long x 5.75 wide. This is really gorgeous china. Would work well in a shabby chic or cottage setting; or just to use on special occasions like Victorian luncheons! Or, give as a hostess or housewarming gift! This pattern was discontinued in 1935.

Great to use, display or give as a gift! Pattern name unknown, but is compatible w/most vintage china.

There is crazing and one dark spot, and one small chip under the rim which doesn't show from the front. Marked with the Knowles trademark, Semi Vitreous, Edwin M. Knowles China Co., Made in U.S.A., and a number that is unreadable except that it appears to end in a 5.

The '39' is likely the year mark. The platter is 13 x 10 inches; and the vegetable bowl is 9.5 x 7.5, and no chips or cracks. Edwin Knowles was in business from 1900-1963. Pattern name is unknown.

Measure 8-1/4 diameter and about 1-1/2 high. 1940s. Ivory with gold pattern and gold on the outer edge, also there is a red 1/4 stripe around the inside of the bowl. Normal wear to the gold for the age of the bowl and crazing-no chips. Two of these bowls have the Knowles backstamp which reads SEMI-VITREOUS EDWIN M. KNOWLES CHINA CO. MADE IN U.S.A. 42-1 and also a gold backstamp from Harlem Crockery Co. which is a circle and the words HARLEM CROCKERY CO. WARRANTED 22 KT.GOLD.
