Lovely vintage Elgin America pocket watch, or could be worn on a victorian chain around the neck. The back of the watch is engraved with scrolled initials (don't know what they are) and the watch is gold filled. It keeps superb and accurate time, I have just had it overhauled. It is 1 1/4 inches around, and it a lovely thing.

Engined turned yellow rolled gold case, both inside back cover and inside curvette are marked Victoria and the export Sun. One of the few pieces made by an American watch company focusing on the Latin American market. Case and curvette marked 14k, however, tests for a very thick roll gold (40 microns) over brass. Still, a lot of gold for a not solid gold case.
