Great Expectations Antiques

Circa: MID 1900's
Condition: Good+
Manufacturer: CRAFTSMAN
This is a nice clean hand brace, and it has a 10" sweep. It is marked "CRAFTSMAN-10  MADE IN U.S.A." on the arm leading to the head handle. The ratchet system works great. The chuck is in good condition with a spring loaded double jaw inserts. The head is ball bearing drive, capped with a nice rosewood head handle, and a fluted aluminum crank handle with cast lettering "CRAFTSMAN" marked on it in 2 places. The condition is good+, with some wear, some minor scratches, small dings and missing nickel plating on the arms particularly.  The head handle had a very thick varnish on it, some has worn off in places making the surface feel a bit rough, but looks pretty good. Most of the nickel plating is worn off, about 15% remains intact, no damage, or cracks in the handles or metal parts. In really good working condition, a very good user tool also.  A quality made brace, still in great shape, nice looking too!
