Nicely detailed carving in ivory of a man holding a cricket cage in one hand, and a fan or paddle in the other. Appears to be Japanese, inked detail to face, clothes and hair. Made in several parts, his right arm is a little further out from his body, leaving a seam between his shoulder and arm - this can easily be rectified. Otherwise, absolutely no damage at all. He measures 13.2 cm high (5.1/4 inches). Signed underneath. Postage is priced for International Courier - cheaper post can be arranged at your own risk.

Rare Antique Chinese Embroidered Silk Wedding Apron Skirt
THIS ELABORATELY EMBROIDERED ANTIQUE CHINESE PAIRED APRON WEDDING SKIRT IS NOTHING SHORT OF A WORK OF ART. I KNOW THAT PHRASE IS USED A LOT, BUT IN THIS CASE IT IS WELL DESERVED. THIS PIECE OF CIRCA 1900 - 1910'S HANDMADE NEEDLEWORK IS OVERWHELMING IN ITS COMPLEXITY AND BEAUTY. I BOUGHT THIS SKIRT AT A MAJOR AUCTION HOUSE IN NEW YORK CITY THIRTY YEARS AGO AND HAVE KEPT IT CAREFULLY STORED IN MY PRIVATE COLLECTION. I HAVE SEEN SEVERAL OF THESE KINDS OF SKIRTS, BUT I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING QUITE LIKE ITS COLOR SCHEME, A RAINBOW OF PASTEL PLEATS RANGING FROM CREAMY IVORY TO AQUA TO PINK TO SKY BLUE. NOT ONLY HAS THE FABRIC BEEN PRECISELY PLEATED BUT THEN IT HAS BEEN DELICATELY STITCHED INTO PLACE FORMING A BEAUTIFUL EFFECT SHOWN IN ONE OF THE CLOSE-UP PHOTOS. ADDITIONAL EMBROIDERED NEEDLEWORK HAS BEEN DONE ON TOP OF THE STITCHED PLEATS IN COLORFUL SILK THREADS TO COMPLEMENT THE FABRIC. IT POSITIVELY SHIMMERS! THE TWO MAIN PANELS, WHICH WOULD FALL IN FRONT AND BACK IF WORN, ARE OF SOFT TOMATO RED. THEY HAVE BEEN OVERLAID WITH METALLIC GOLD THREADS AND FEATURE A GROUPING OF MAGNIFICENT PHOENIX AND OTHER BIRDS. THIS ELEGANT GARMENT WAS MADE IN TWO SEPARATE PARTS WHICH FASTEN TOGETHER UNDER THE CENTER PANEL. THE OVERLAPPING STYLE ALLOWS FOR EASY ADJUSTMENT TO THE WEARER'S WAIST SIZE. IT IS NOT LINED. THIS EXTRAVAGANTLY ORNATE SKIRT IS IN AMAZING AND EXCELLENT CONDITION. IT HAS BEEN CAREFULLY STORED AND SHOWS ONLY A COUPLE OF VERY SMALL DARK SPOTS, BARELY NOTICEABLE. IN FACT I HAD NEVER NOTICED THEM UNTIL I MADE A VERY DETAILED INSPECTION FOR THIS DESCRIPTION. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS RARE PIECE OF ASIAN ART. IT IS A TEXTILE MASTERPIECE WHICH COULD BE WORN FOR THE MOST SPECIAL OCCASION OR DISPLAYED WITH PRIDE IN THE FINEST HOME OR MUSEUM.
A vintage covered pot. I believe it may be pewter with an amber and turquoise stone on the lid. The embossed decoration is well done, possibly a chrysanthemum?. Bottom stamped with oriental marks. Stands 3 in. tall and is 2.75 in. diameter at the shoulder. Not sure if this is from old China or Japan.
Japanese Carved Bone Tooth Style Pendant With Buddha.
Unusual Japanese carved bone Buddha pendant. The lower part of the pendant is like a tooth or dagger, and the top finial is a carved buddha in the lotus position. There is a copper or possibly antimony band separating top from bottom, which has embossed peonies. The buddha has a halo attached, and this forms the bale for the pendant. Item measures 84 mm long and 16 mm wide (3.1/4 inches by 5/8 inch). Excellent condition. Probably Meijii period.
This lovely ivory carved lady with bridge cards was the first place trophy for the 1964 Individual Championship South Pacific Bridge Club - Guam. The hand holding the cards has been repaired (see picture 7) and there is a crack on the face, I am not sure if it has been repaired and is hardly noticed. (Priced accordingly)

The outer cover is complete with no tears or missing lace. all the ivory tips are present. light brown spots are present on the cover and one tear is on the silk underlining, a 2'' check is at the area where the handle attaches but it is quite solid. ARTIST SIGNED JAPANESE KOI CARP HAND PAINTED BOWL. It i hand formed and it is signed on the left side as well as the bottom. Delicately hand painted Koi featured on white porcelain. The porcelain has like a rice paper texture on the inside of the bowl. The rim is trimmed with silver. The bowl is 8 across and stands 1.5 .
