This Goebel M.I.Hummel figurine Ein suBer Trost / A Sweet Offering, Mold #549 3/0, was released in 1993 / 1994. It is marked with the Hummel Mark (TMK-7) 1991-Present and on the bottom it has a Full Bee in a half circle / M.I.Hummel Club / Membership Year 1993 / 94. In 1934, Franz Goebel was searching for something new. Like his predecessors at the helm of W.Goebel Porzellanfabrik, Franz understood his market. He believed that in a world of political turmoil, customers would respond to a product depicting the gentle innocence of children. The artwork of a Franciscan Sister, Maria Innocentia Hummel, a gifted, academy-trained artist, came to Franz's attention. Her drawings of country children had been printed as art cards and were becoming quite popular. An enthusiastic Franz, with the approval of senior sculptors Arthur Moeller and Reinhold Unger, decided to pursue the creation of figurines based on the artwork of Sister M.I.Hummel. The new product line was launched in March, 1935, at the Leipzig Spring Fair -- a major show for the industry. The reception to the first M.I.Hummel motifs was enthusiastic. The line was an immediate success! In the original box it is in very good + condition without chips, cracks or fleabites and measures 3 1/2 inches tall. An addition to any Goebel Figurine Collection. SH & Ins. will be quoted after orders placed. If you have questions please contact me and thank you for looking.

This beautiful Hummel figurine, Telling Her Secret, has the Full Bee mark on the bottom, Germany, also referred to as TMK-2 along with the mold #196/0 and the #37 and #1948. My Hummel book says this mark was made from 1940 through 1959. In very good + condition without chips, cracks or fleabites it measures 5 1/2 inches tall with a 3 1/16 inch base. An addition to any Goebel Figurine Collection. SH & Ins. will be quoted after orders placed. If you have questions please contact me and thank you for looking.
