Frederick Carder is considered one of the best known monumental artisans and pioneers of an art glass movement that began when he co-founded Steuben Glass in 1903. Carder is known for his beautiful, classic creations of iridescent, translucent and transparent glass. This color of this bowl is known as onion skin Gold Aurence on Calcite. Absolutely stunning, this bowl measures 9 7/8 wide and stands 2 high. The bowl is free of any chips, cracks or discolorations.
Frederick Carder co-founded Steuben Glass in 1905 and was responsible for the invention and design of the stunning Art Glass treatments of that era. This treatment is known as Rosaline, a lovely shade of rose colored cased glass. The plate has a polished punty and measures 9 wide and has deep center that is approx. 1/2 . The plate is free of any chips, cracks or discolorations.

Vintage Signed Steuben Glass Fish Sculpture 9 3/4 In.
FREE SHIPPING in US. Add to your art glass collection this vintage, hand signed in script Steuben crystal tropical fish made by the premier art glass manufacturer in the U.S.A. This Steuben Glass crystal fish was designed by F. Carder and S. Waugh; and is a large sculpture measuring 8 3/4 H x 9 3/4 L and weighs in at 6 lbs.!! This is a piece made in the early Houghton period in the 1930's or 1940's after the factory discontinued colored glassware. This piece has been professionally repaired and did not originally have the notch in the top fin. With a diligent magnified search you can see a few shallow surface scuffs which can easily be buffed out. There is a tiny shallow chip under the bottom edge near the Steuben signature but it can't be seen without picking up the fish. Priced accordingly. There is normal wear on the bottom. This sculpture is priced in accordance with the imperfections in a very vintage treasure. Google has a 2003 HARDBACK BOOK with a history of Steuben Glass listed for over $800.00!! This Steuben gold aurene shines so lovely extending forth from the interior of this trumpet form vase. Beautiful pink highlights radiate. It is the largest of the two I currently have and is 8 inches high and 6.25 inches in upper diameter with a 3 3/8 inch diameter base. Both are unsigned as is most of the calcite items. Truly beautiful and only $975.
The gold aurene is so beautiful when bursting forth from the calcite. I know it is always lovely, but it seems the calcite just gives it that elegance that is classical. This is the smaller of the two that I currently have. It is 6.25 inches high and 5 3/8 inches in diameter at the expanded and curving opening. It rests on an applied alabaster base 3 1/8 inch in diameter.

This iridescent mold blown cased glass has beautiful highlights of various colors and iridescence is in great condition. from the Lagerberg collection. 7051 Wonderful Steuben tall candlestick with removable bobeche in the alabaster (jade untinted base) with jade green applied thread accent and applied jade green prunts. Unusual and rare. Signed with the fleur de lis although I cannot find it today, I think I have found it before. This happens to me, sometimes the light has to be just right for one to see this mark. 11-7/8 inches tall, 4 inch diameter bobeche (inner circle rim of removeable bobeche has minor flakes noticeable under bright light), base diameter 5.75 inches diameter. Candle well is 2 inches in length with a 1 inch inner diameter. Pontil is recessed and left unground. Condition is excellent. There are a few randon internal bubbles as usual, but all appear intact.

Steuben dark blue jade candlesticks. The Rockwell Gallery in Corning, New York has a pair in the green jade. Both the shape and color of these candlesticks are rare. This is shape #3320 on page 161 of the Garner book.
