LE Smith

A water set consisting of a pitcher that stands 8.5 in. tall and is 5 in. diameter, 6 tumblers 4.25 in. tall and 2.75 in. diameter. All in a lovely amethyst color with a carnival finish. Marked with an S on the pitcher bottom and an ILG inside the tumblers. I think the Smith Co. purchased this mold when the Imperial glass co. closed and did a very limited production of these sets. The pattern is called Singing Bird or Robin. Excellent quality and no damage. Ship this one USPS Parcel Post so it can be properly wrapped and packed for safe delivery.

This traditional Moon to the top of the handle. The pattern is crisp and sharp and it dates from the 1950s to 1970s. In the open sided banana boat style, it measures 9 from side to side and is 6 deep, and it is in excellent condition. This pattern glass plate has an unusual irregular scalloped edge and a unique design of hobstars alternating with a sunburst-and-fan pattern. This Smith Glass hobstar plate was probably made in the early 1900s. This 9 diameter plate has some scratching and a chip on the bottom inside rim that shows up as a shadow when the plate is flat, unless you are looking directly down at it. Vintage Candle Holders, Grape Pattern, Milk Glass, L E Smith. In a traditional embossed grape and leaf pattern, this pair of milk glass candlesticks were made by L E Smith Glass Co, who called the pattern Vintage. A vase in vaseline opalescent glass. Stands 10 in. tall. The round base is 4 in. diameter. In like new condition as this vase has been in storage since the 1980's. This irridized jadeite deviled egg plate has a rabbit, bunny cover in the center. Measures 12 in. long and is 9.25 in. wide. The rabbit cover is 3.75 in. tall. Pressed Art Glassware Covered Animal Chicken Dish, Ring or Trinket Box. Color Name is Sunshine Yellow, it is Opalescent White Milk Glass, Hand & Air Brush Painted. American Made in U.S.A. Reproduction of a EAPG Early American Pattern pressed from an old mould. Nice details. Basket looks woven, with a scalloped rim. Top and/or Bottom marked R. This adorable Boudoir or beside lamp was produced by the L. E. Smith Glass Co. in the 1930's, 40's and 50's. The shape is of a victorian era southern belle with a shade of over-lapping shells. The lamp measures 9 high to the top and 5 1/4 wide. The lamp is in great condition with excellent paint retention of the fired on paint. There is some age on the metal and there a couple of minor flakes on the top of the shade where it is attached at the finial, but I believe this was done during manufacturing as this part would not have been removed.

Early American Style Glassware Colonial Blue Glass Vase or small Spooner. Pattern has Star Bursts, Flower which reminds me of a Thislte, Diamonds, Beads, and Fans with Scalloped top rim. My best guess for the maker is LE Smith Glass Company. Measures 3 1/2 inches high X 4 1/4 inches diameter across top. Appears Brand New. Beautiful collectible gift.

Beautiful Amber Covered Compote in the Moon and Stars Pattern made by L. E. Smith for the L. G. Wright Glass Co. It Measures 9 1/2 overall from the top of the lid to the base. Without the lid, the base measures approximately 6 1/4 high, 6 1/4 wide at the top and 3 3/4 at the bottom. This stunning piece is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or breaks.

A great covered butter dish in the Moon & Stars Pattern by LE Smith is in good condition. It is a lovely green color.

This lovely vase stands 17 in. tall. Swung style. Short pedestal base. Base measures 3.25 in. diameter. I believe the color was called bittersweet, an orange slightly slag color. No damage. I believe from the 1960's.

An amethyst glass figurine patterned after the famous Goose Girl by M I Hummel. Stands 5.75 in. tall and the base measures 3.25 in. x 2.5 in. This is a slightly smaller size than I have previously seen. I believe this was produced by the L E Smith Glass Co. Lovely amethyst glass. No damage.

LE Smith Pink Depression Glass Heart Handle Nut Candy Dish. This piece was made by LE Smith Glass in the 1920's, it has a heart shaped center handle with a rolled bowl and scalloped edge. It is 3 inches tall to the top of the handle, 6 1/2 inches across and 1 1/4 inches deep. In excellent condition, no chips, has one bubble in it, common in pieces of this age. An excellent addition to your collection or decor!

L. E. Smith Nortic Pressed Vase--This pressed glass green carnival lusterware vase is 9 inches tall x 4 1/2 inch diameter and has a scalloped foot and a saw tooth rim--This vase mold was originally made by McKee-This vase is also known as Heritage 409, Ohio Star and Pinwheel--Very good condition

I believe this blue opalescent compote is L E Smith. It stands 6 high and is 5 1/2 across the top at the widest spot. The base is 3 1/4 across. The foot has the moon and stars not the plain base. One of the panels does have a milky trail through the glass, but otherwise it is very good. No chips, cracks or crazing.

Depression Era Glassware with Raised circle of Tulips which grace the center of this low ruffled bowl. Maker unknown. Measures approx 2 1/4 inches at highest point X 8 3/4 inches wide. L.E. Smith Mt Pleasant Black Amethyst Glass Plate. The L.E. Smith Glass company was founded in Mt Pleasant, Pennsylvania in 1907. Lewis E. Smith was a sometimes-employed chef who took over an an abandoned glass factory in order to make containers for his secret mustard sauce. He became so enamored of the glass making process however, that he spent all his time producing glass kitchenware. Mr. Lewis invented the glass percolator top, the first glass mixing bowls, a redesigned reamer and a glass chicken feeder. In 1911, after establishing a thriving business, Smith took his mustard recipe and left without a word. The company continued operating and subsequent owners kept the name. Like all the other glass companies of the time, L.E. Smith began producing colored glass in the mid 1920's. In the late 1920's, they hit upon a formula for black glass that set them apart from other manufacturers of the time. This black glass, which shows amethyst when held up to a light, has proved to be the most collected of L.E. Smith's wares. The Mt Pleasant pattern was produced in black amethyst as well as pink, blue, green, crystal and white from 1926 to 1934. This plate has the double shield on the bottom, it is 8 inches across and is in excellent condition. LE Smith White Carnival Glass Heritage Basket. The LE Smith Glass Company began crafting handmade, American-pressed glass in 1907 and is known for creating the first headlight lens for the Model T Ford and the original glass mixing bowl. They are famous for the beautiful pieces they have made over the years such as baskets, bowls and punch sets. This basket is the Heritage pattern and is the white iridescent carnival glass color. It is 8 1/2 inches tall by 7 1/2 inches long and 5 inches wide, in excellent condition, no chips and no cracks. The perfect addition to your collection or decor!

Elegant Black Depression Glass Condiment Jar Lid Only. This lid is true black milk glass, it is not amethyst, you cannot see through it. After some research, I am uncertain of maker. The knob and panels suggest possibley Victory by Diamond Glass-Ware Company. The scallops remind me somewhat of LE Smith Mt. Pleasant. It's so unique and desirable that I couldn't throw it out. Someone may have the jar to go with it. Inside diameter is just a hair over 2.5 inches, so it should set over a jar with a outside rim measurement of about 2.5 inches. To top of knob is 1.5 inches. No chips, cracks, scratches. Has the usual straw marks, waves, etc in the glass. A beautiful depression era glassware replacement lid.
