1940's Panel Peg-open Edge Mannington Plate W/ Kemple Sig.
John Kemple bought some of the Mannington molds and this 1940's plate is one of the few Mannington Plates engraved with the John E. Kemple Glassworks factory identification. Most either had the paper label, or they were engraved with the letter K. These plates are referred to as Panel Peg-Open Edge Plates. It has a wonderful center decoration in the center of the plate un colors of gray, blues and of what looks to be like Pheasants, sitting on branches with some sort of floral design and a butterfly. This plate is in good condition with only a rough mold line and minimal damage to the center design as you can see and one of the pegs looks like there is a hairline and is hard to notice unless you hold it in extremely bright light. It would not come out in a picture. Other then mention there are no other defects to this piece and it measures approximately 7.50 inches in diameter. The back of the plate reads John E. Kemple Glassworks East Palestine O. Get this plate while you can, usually you will find them with fruits in the center.
