A Time Remembered

Circa: 1920
Condition: Used
Manufacturer: Hammersley & Company/Made in England
This lovely mixed floral demitasse cup and saucer was made in England and is marked: Bone China / Hammersley & Co. / #2901 ? / Made in England.
Hammmersley and Co. began in 1862 as a china manufacturer at Longton, Stoke-on-Trent by Adams, Scrivener & Co. It went through several name changes, was purchased by Carborundum Ltd. in 1966, merged with Royal Worcester Spode Ltd. in 1976, and was then taken over by Palissy Pottery Ltd., which closed Hammersley's Works in 1982. The Hammersley name was sold to Aynsley in 1989. The company has a history of producing high quality finely decorated bone china.
I've seen it listed under 2 different pattern names, one Minuet and the other Howard Sprays.
With a lovely array of mixed flowers with green leaves on a white background with gold trim that is delicately done.
In very good condition, without chips, cracks or fleabites there is crazing throughout and the cup has a stain in the bottom as I have shown in my pictures.
The cup measures 2 3/8 inches tall, 2 3/8 inches across the rim and 1 3/8 inches across the base while the saucer measures 4 3/4 inches in diameter.
An addition to any Hammersley & Co. Demitasse Cup and Saucer Collection.
SH & Ins. will be quoted after orders placed. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions and thank you for looking.
