This jewelry and bead craft pattern instruction booklet from 1972 is titled Fashion Fun With Beads, published by American Handicrafts Tandy Corporation. The 16-page booklet has patterns for 26 projects including necklaces, rings, chokers, keychains, scarf slides, barefoot sandals, even a dog collar and leash. Some of the projects are strictly needle beading, others use the beaded crochet technique. The booklet is in good vintage condition with no tears or writing.

When I was 14-15 years old, I made and sold my own beaded jewelry, mostly crocheted bead ropes and rings. I even had an account with Hatch's Card and Gifts in the local mall, where I'd go replace any sold jewelry every week. The pattern instruction booklet that started me off on my first business venture was this one: Pearls: Fun & Fancy, by Shirley Nowosad. The book is copyrighted 1971 and published by The Royal-Craft Library, Cunningham Art Products. It's 31 pages and has patterns, diagrams, and complete instructions for 35 beaded jewelry items using imitation pearls and other beads. There are several styles of crocheted bead rope necklaces and bracelets, some with woven-in designs like flowers and grapes, others using different styles and size of beads. Also earrings, those funky metallic elastic crochet cluster rings, collars and chokers, an anklet with toe ring, and an ornamental necktie. The booklet is in good vintage condition with no writing or tears.

These are large Southern pine cones from Central Florida. They are dried and ready for your crafting projects. These are great to make into gifts of bird feeders, Christmas decorations and ornaments and potporrie hangers for a closet. Ideas are only limited by your imagination. This The Coppersmith Do It Yourself tooled copper embossing kit is from the 1950s. Inside is a 9 by 7 inch sheet of heavy copper embossing metal and a hard plastic mold or pattern with a Southern Belle type lady in long ruffled Victorian gown and muff. A sheet of steel wool for cleaning the tarnish from the copper sheet and a cardboard mat are also included. There are no instructions but the craft technique is pretty self-explanatory based on the box illustrations. Box has a little edge wear to the graphics from age and storage, no splits or tears.

One unused 9-1/4 by 12 inch sheet of copper embossing metal by ArtEmboss. Used for picture frames, jewelry, and crafts, it can be cut with scissors. It comes in a tube with instructions but the embossing tool and tracing pattern sheet described on the label are not present.

A practical course for primary and elementary schools, RAPHIA AND REED WEAVING Elizabeth Sanborn Knapp was published in 1920 by Milton Bradley, Springfield MA. The 132-page hardbound book features figures throughout that accompany the text in construction of dozens of projects. Weaving technique is taught, starting with construction paper, then to cardboard and raphia and reeds. Following the third year of study, says the text, the boy is eager and well-fitted to take up bench work, and the girl to be initiated into the cutting and marking of dolls' garments. The book is in Good condition, although ex lib with the usual library markings. The covers show edge/corner/spine end wear. The spine is somewhat discolored. Inside pages show some edge wear, but are complete, readable and utterly fascinating! (6220) We see many reprints and 'print on demand' books for sale these days ... but we believe it's difficult in most instances to do better than the original version! Pages are where they should be ... and the photos and other illustrations are always included in the books we sell. Some of our books are ex lib (withdrawn from a library), but unless otherwise noted in our descriptions, these have no library-related damage beyond the usual library markings and card pockets. This book is one of those ORIGINALS! IT'S NOT A REPRINT!
