Premier Unsilvered Stripes Glass Christmas War Ornaments
These three unsilvered World War II era glass Christmas ornaments were made by Premier Glass Works between 1942 and 1945. They're decorated in bright painted and flashed-on horizontal stripes and rings in bold primary colors of, blue, yellow, red, and green. The two mostly blue and yellow ornaments are about 3 inches high by 2-1/2 diameter. The ornament with the red center band is a little larger. The smaller ornaments have some minor rub wear to the yellow paint and one has a small red paint smear near the bottom. No damage I have a nice personal collection of war ornaments, and my Premiers always get special placement on the Christmas tree. They seem so representative of the era and appropriately patriotic.
Box Dome Scene Blown Glass Wire Wrap Christmas Ornaments Angels Inside
A boxed set of four charming and unusual Christmas tree ornaments featuring doll-like plastic angel figures inside wired clear blown glass domes. The ornaments are 3-1/2 high by 3-1/4 inches diameter, mounted on metallic gold foil starburst bases. The cute angels inside the transparent globes are identical except for the color of their dresses - two are blue, two are yellow. Each ornament is wrapped in thin crinkly gold wire and topped with a gold thread hanging cord. Paper labels on the bottoms say Made In West Germany, dating them to the 1980s or earlier. The box flaps read Bronson Imports Ltd. New York, Made in West Germany, Imported Glass Ornaments by Europe's Finest Craftsmen, Mouth Blown, Hand Decorated . One ornament has a loose wire, otherwise they're in excellent condition.
Big Lot 50 Mid Century Plastic Christmas Ornaments
Here is a large assortment of Mid Century plastic Christmas ornaments, ideal for an aluminum Christmas tree or families with children. There are 49 ornaments plus an angel tree topper, enough to decorate a tabletop or larger size tree. Fourteen of the ornaments are Jewel Brite 3-D scene types - teardrops, faceted cubes, rounds, and more. They have figures and decorations inside such as angels, poinsettias, Nativity scenes, toy soldier, bell clusters, a spun cotton choir girl, and more. These are 2-1/2 to 5 inches long. One ornament has a melt mark in the back from too-close contact with a light bulb, the long skinny icicle drop is empty. Another 14 ornaments are various decorated round or ball shapes, 2-1/4 to 2-3/4 diameter: filigree cutouts, faceted disco balls, colored painted stripes or stars, a double indent, and a pink sugar frosted ornament. Most of these were made by Bradford Novelty. There are six bells of various types, styles, and colors and three Bradford 3-1/4 dimensional lanterns. Also a Bradford hard plastic angel encrusted with gold glitter, a windowpane or caged ball with bell inside, a red and blue horn, a bird without tail, a large beaded wreath (possibly something was in the center, now missing), a framed bubble ornament with musical angel inside, and six glow-in-the dark icicles. The hard plastic angel tree topper with long feathered blue wings will take a light bulb, but I don't have a cord or bulb for her. She's 8 inches high and can stand by herself in a window or on the mantle. The clear halo has two lines of clear, slightly yellowish glue down the sides from manufacture - they are not cracks. There may be some minor finish wear I missed, but any notable wear or damage is discussed above.
1950s Porcelain Christmas Bell Ornaments On Dimestore Display Card
Twelve miniature porcelain bell Christmas ornaments, mounted on their original heavy gold foil covered dimestore cardboard display. The bells were made in Japan in the 1950s. They're just over one inch high, half in a rounded dome traditional bell shape, half in a 4-sided angular taped shape. The fronts are decorated with decals of Santa Claus, bells, or candles, all with a Merry Christmas greeting printed in gold. Excellent condition with no chips or damage, all have their metallic gold cord hangers and ceramic bead clappers inside. I didn't notice how dusty they were until I saw the photos - they should clean right up with a damp cloth.
Five of these old foil Christmas tree light bulb reflector collars were made in Germany for the Noma Company beginning in 1917. They are triple and quadruple layered in colorful star and flower shapes, about 3--3/4 inches diameter. The backs of the pressed cardboard composition centers are marked Germany. The larger double layer silver foil reflector is outlined in gold feather tinsel. It's probably American made from the 1930s and may have been used as a tree top star. It measures about 5-1/2 inches wide. It's intact but has some creases as shown. The colored metallic foil used in the fancy reflectors is thinner and lighter than modern reflectors, and it was easily damaged. All have crinkling and creases or bends to some extent, but I don't see any tears or major damage. While showing their age at nearly 100 years old, they're still beautiful and are perfectly useable.
This box of vintage Doubl Glo Christmas tree light bulb reflectors has 12 star shape metallic foil reflector collars inside (the box originally held 15). Designed for standard C6 and C7 bulbs, they're 3-1/2 inches diameter. There are five colors: red, blue, pink, silver, and gold. The reflectors are in very good vintage condition but the box has quite a bit of storage wear including one taped corner. Box is dated 1966.
16 Usa Made Mid Century Glass Bell Christmas Ornaments
An assortment of 16 American made bell shape Christmas ornaments, made in the 1940s and 1950s. There are seven small bells, about 2 inches high. Most have horizontal rings or stripes, one has mica glitter trim, and two are unsilvered with opaque off- white stripes. These were made during World War II. The seven medium size bells are 2-1/4 inches high, a little fuller than the others. Three have colored stripes, the others are solid colors. One of the gold bells has considerable flaking of the finish. The last two bells are 3 inches high - one gold, one red. The red bell is slightly transparent from deterioration of the inner silvering. None of the ornaments have any chips or breaks.
A box of one dozen beautiful small round fancy indented blown glass Christmas ornaments, made by Fantasia of Poland in the 1950s. They're about 1-3/4 inches diameter by 2 to 2-1/4 inches high, decorated in bright jewel tone colors. Most of the recessed center indents are tinted in bright colors and embossed in faceted flower, snowflake, or star designs. Two have deep ribs or rays coming to center points so deep they virtually touch the back walls. All have mica glitter trim or back decoration, though much of the mica has worn away over the years. None of the ornaments have any chips or breaks. The plain manila box is intact but has some age wear and discoloration. The cellophane windowed lid has two taped splits at the corners. One end of the box is marked Fantasia Brand Poland.
Occupied Japan Clay Face Chenille Santa Christmas Ornament
This wonderful red chenille Santa Claus figure ornament was made in Occupied Japan between 1946 and 1951. About 5-1/2 inches long with legs slightly bent, he has an expressive molded, hand painted clay face, real cotton beard, and holds a green chenille tree in one hand. The original paper Made In Occupied Japan is still attached to the top of the Santa. The green tree is slightly faded. In very good vintage condition, guaranteed original and authentic.
This circa 1930 silvered glass Christmas ornament from Germany is described in one of my antique ornament books as Snow Angel With Basket of Flowers but she doesn't have any wings that I can see. The book pictures the 1970s reproduction valued at $125 - $175, but this one is the original old version. She wears a gold hood or scarf with matching gold coat trim. The paper-thin glass ornament is quite small at just under 2-1/2 inches high. The inner mercury silvering has deteriorated with age, creating a semi-transparent effect to the glass above the eyebrows. There is still silvering below the forehead, though the pearly-white coat was probably once silver. There are no chips or breaks.
2.5 Inch Antique German Gold Kugel Christmas Ornament
This authentic gold kugel glass Christmas ornament was made in Germany in the late 1800s. It measures 2-1/2 inches diameter and is 8-3/4 inches in circumference. The kugel has excellent mirroring with a bright gold coloring. There is no cloudiness, spotting, or silvering loss but there are a number of typical bubbles in the glass, the largest of which is 1/4 diameter. There is also a sparkle or glitter effect at the top encircling the brass cap, enhanced in the pictures by the flash. The 5-leaf embossed brass cap is secure and does not slide.
Dozen Lot Jewel Brite 1960s Plastic Christmas Ornaments
A dozen different Mid Century plastic dimensional Christmas ornaments by JewelBrite in a variety of shapes and themes that appeal to kids and grown ups alike. Shapes include teardrops, faceted cubes, a lantern, a faceted diamond icicle, and cut-out front rounds, 2-1/4 to 4 inches high. All have figures or decorations inside with silvered mirror backs to enhance and reflect the colors and light. Three ornaments have Nativity or Wiseman scenes, all different. Two have angels, one a spun cotton choir girl, another has a plastic toy soldier. The others have various flower, bell, or wreath decorations. All the ornaments are in excellent vintage condition with no breaks or damage.
Chenille Angels With Cross And Clay Face Santa Christmas Ornaments
This odd 1950s Japan chenille Christmas ornament appears to be a pair of angels holding a beaded gold cross mounted on a chenille star. The angels actually look more like little bees, but you can be the judge. They're about 2 inches high, the bead cross is about 2-1/2 high. Found with the cross ornament was the little clay face chenille Santa Claus ornament, 2-3/4 high. Both ornaments are in good condition.
Box Antique And Specialty Metal Christmas Ornament Hangers Hooks
As an antique ornament collector, I always tried to use authentic, old hooks - the heavy, dark steel kind. I never had enough, especially of the very small and large shepherd's crook loop types. This is a small assortment of old steel Christmas ornament hooks or hangers in unusual or hard to find sizes and styles. The box is just for storage, it's not original to any of them. Eight are odd closed loop hangers that you pinch to insert in the ornament and the bottoms expand into the ornament neck (one got left out of the photos). There is one antique big long-loop hook with double coiled bottom. Ten hooks are the hard to find longer style shepherd's crook loop hooks, just under 2 inches long. The 15 tiny feather tree size hooks are also very hard to find.
14 Colored Foil Reflector Collars For Christmas Lights
A set of fourteen colorful, heavy foil Christmas light bulb reflectors, made in the 1960s by Doubl-Glo. They are rayed or ribbed in star and poinsettia flower shapes, 3-3/4 and 4-1/4 inches wide in bright red, blue, and gold. They're designed to slip behind standard size C-7 or C-9 Christmas light bulbs. All are in excellent condition with no bends, damage, or wear.
Shiny Brite 1930s Red And Green Chandelier Christmas Ornaments
These early Shiny Brite figural glass Christmas ornaments are in a scarce beaded drop shape that I'm going to call chandelier, until I think of something better or learn the correct name. I've seen them called UFOs, space capsules, and satellites but those terms refer to a more recent time period. Among the first Shiny Brite specialty shapes produced in the 1930s, this style was not produced very long and was never brought back after the second World War ended in 1945. The ornaments are about 2-3/4 inches high. They are slightly diamond shaped ribbed drops, tapering to points at the top and bottom from the wide centers, which have a band of horizontal beads or dots. One is red, the other green. The finish is in very nice condition, though when held to the light, both ornament have a slightly transparent look from normal age deterioration of the inner silvering.
West German Large Bell, Triple Star Indent Glass Christmas Ornaments
A large West Germany silvered blown glass bell plus a gold and cream mica glittered triple indent Christmas ornament, plus a bonus egg shape ornament with embossed palm leaf decoration. The bell is 4-3/8 high by 3-1/4 inches wide at the base, decorated with all-over silver glitter polka dots. It has a plastic cap marked West Germany Ges. Gesch. and is in excellent condition. The round triple indent is 3-1/2 inches high by 3 diameter. The outside has a satin cream colored finish decorated with loopy squiggle lines in black metallic mica glitter. The indents are bright yellow gold with embossed 5-point stars. The metal cap is marked West Germany.Excellent condition with some minor glitter wear. The bonus third ornament was made in Czechoslovakia and is older than the other two. It's oval or egg shape, 4 inches high, with six embossed vertical palm leaf designs around the sides. The top is smooth with a red leaf cap, the lower three-quarters of the ornament has horizontal ribbing. The ornament is a pale ivory-yellow color and is decorated with thick mica glitter. The bottom has a hole, visible at one side only as shown in the last photo. I've applied clear nail polish to the break to prevent the hole from enlarging or cracking. It still displays nicely on the tree when placed so that the damage is facing the tree trunk.
Miniature Santa In Green Coat German Glass Christmas Ornament
This little silvered glass Santa Claus Christmas ornament is less than 2-1/4 inches high. Made of almost paper-thin glass, it was produced in Germany in the 1930s. Santa's hat and fur coat trim are green rather than the usual red. His eyes and eyebrows are painted black, his mouth red, the rest of the ornament is a pearly white color which was no doubt once silver when new. It's in excellent condition with no breaks or damage.
Box Czech, West Germany Figural Glass Christmas Ornaments
A box of one dozen figural silvered glass Christmas ornaments from West Germany and Czechoslovakia, made in the 1980s and 1990s, one or two made be a little older. Described in order starting with the third photo: Angel face with glittered wings, 3 high. Church building with steeple, some inner silvering loss, 3-1/2 inches. Maroon red sneaker or tennis shoe with mica and iridescent glitter trim, 3 inches long. 2-3/4 red with white mica trim automobile or passenger car. 4-1/4 champagne bottle with foil and paper neck (not sure where this one was made). Silver wine barrel or cask with blue embossed grapes, gold trim, 3 high. 4-1/4 high clown with drum, mica trim at collar and drum strap, silver glittered drumstick. Boy head with green cap 3 , scratches to the white face paint near left eye and cheek. Santa Claus holding green tree, 3 , white mica glitter trim. Embossed egg shape with honeycomb center panel in gold, green, and pink over silver, 3-1/4 long. 2-1/2 inch silver crown with purple and green jewels . Flower or fruit house with windows, just over 3 high. Unless mentioned above, the ornaments are in very good to excellent condition. The box has no lid and is not original to any of the ornaments.
German Glass Pocket Watch Christmas Ornament Scrap Clock Face
This scarce 1930s German glass pocket watch or clock ornament has an embossed Dresden paper scrap clock face applied to the front. The dark green silvered ornament is feather tree sized, just 1-3/4 inches diameter and somewhat flat or disc shaped. The back has an embossed flowering rose bush design. The ornament is in excellent vintage condition. That's glare to the clock face in the photo, not scuffing or wear.
This German made figural glass Christmas ornament is in the form of a passenger car. The shape is a generic version of a late 1930s automobile. The silvered ornament is 3-3/4 inches long and has a pike tailpipe at the back. The color is bright rust orange with yellow and white painted trim. This type of ornament was made in Germany before World War II and again just after the war in Western Germany until the molds were changed to look more like a Volkswagen type car. The metal cap is marked Germany - if the word West is there I can't see it due to the oxidation and age wear. The ornament is in excellent vintage condition.
Red Glittered Wired Tulle Christmas Tree 1950s Japan
This retro Mid Century wired tulle or chiffon Christmas tree would display wonderfully with those little angels that have wired tulle wings and gowns. The tree is 5-1/4 inches tall, mounted on a gold-painted wood disc with a paper Made in Japan label on the bottom. The chiffon or tulle netting is bright Christmas red, dusted with tiny flakes of colored glitter at the scalloped edges. A wired mercury glass bead flower decoration tops the tree. Excellent condition with no holes, tears, or fraying.
Box 12 Red White Blue Honeycomb Tissue Bells Christmas Ornaments
A box of one dozen 1950s honeycomb tissue paper bell Christmas ornaments in red, white, and light blue. They're about 2-1/2 inches high, dusted with large-flake gold glitter at the tops and around the bottoms. Each has a gold cord hanger with foil Made in Japan label still attached. The bells are in excellent condition with no damage, just some loose glitter flakes in the bottom of the box. There is no lid.
1930s American Made Blown Glass Shapes Christmas Ornaments
These four silvered glass Christmas ornaments are not often found. They were made in the USA in the 1930s, probably by Premier Glass Works. American ornament manufacturers did not produce blown glass ornaments for long as they found it too labor intensive and costly. The hand painted decoration soon gave way to simpler, mostly machine-made design as well for the same reason. Two are teardrop shapes, 4 and 4-1/4 inches long. Both have white comma-stroke painted leaf decoration separated by orange or faded purple vertical stripes. The other two ornaments are stylized balloon or parachute type shapes. One has four thumbprint oval indents around the center with white comma-stroke leaves and maroon red vertical lines around the top. The other has ribbed panels at the lower half, the top is decorated in a similar manner as the thumbprint indent. All four ornaments are in marvelous condition for being more than 70 years old. The finishes and silvering of the old Premier ornaments usually held up very well over the years, and these are no exception - they're so reflective and shiny it was extremely difficult to photograph them. With the exception of the faded purple color on the one teardrop, the paint is still in great condition with little if any wear. They're scarce and wonderful pieces of American Christmas history.
12 Shiny Brite Large Bells Glass Christmas Ornaments
One dozen classic Mid Century glass Christmas bell ornaments by Shiny Brite. These are the large size, 3 inches tall. Seven have horizontal rings or stripes, some in gold or mica glitter, others in white and pastel painted colors. The gold bell with blue, pink, and white stripes has quite a bit of snow flocking (didn't those home spray flocking kits mention that the flocking should be done before the tree was decorated?). One bell is a shaded rainbow or tie-dye style in pinks, golds, and reds. The other four are solid colors of red and gold - these have some finish wear, scratches or fading of the color as shown. None have any chips or breaks.
1920s Japan Small Embossed Star Disc Christmas Ornaments
These two mercury silvered glass Christmas ornaments were made in Japan in the 1920s. They're small feather tree size, just 1-1/2 inches diameter. Red painted raised 5-point stars decorate the centers on both sides. The ornaments have some finish wear to the red paint and one is less reflective than the other due to age deterioration of the inner silvering. No chips or breaks.
Scrap Angel On White Hot Air Balloon Wired German Glass Christmas Ornament
This lovely old German double bulb balloon glass Christmas ornament is 5-1/2 inches high. It's unsilvered with an opaque flat off-white finish, and is wrapped in thin gold crinkled wire. An embossed scrap paper angel or cherub rider holding a flower garland is attached to the stem. The ornament has been well cared for and is in very good condition with no breaks or chips. There are some rubs to the white painted finish on the glass from the wires and a small pink transfer mark from storage on the back. The angel has no tears or damage. The wire wrapping has shifted a bit in the back and there is one loose wire end. The metal cap is marked Germany.

Box Jewel Brite Plastic Scene Christmas Ornaments Angel, Santa, Choir Boys
This early 1960s boxed set of plastic Christmas ornaments by Jewelbrite has four teardrop shape dimensional scenes, 4 inches high. The two blue ornaments have singing choir boys, the red one has Santa riding a reindeer, and the yellow has an angel petting a fawn or baby reindeer. All four ornaments have green bottle brush trees as part of the scene and mirrored backs to reflect the light and colors. They're in excellent condition with no damage and the box is in good shape too.
2 German Earthtone Blown Glass Parachute Balloon Christmas Ornaments
Two nice blown glass Christmas ornaments made in late 1930s Germany but possibly not exported to the USA until after the war. One is a stylized mushroom or parachute shape, 3-1/2 inches high. It's decorated in rust-red with painted white roping stripes and three wide vertical bands of thick white mica glitter. The other ornament is a shade taller, a hot air balloon shape in earthtone rust-red and dark green. This ornament has green stripes on alternate ribs at the top. A band of mica glitter rings the center, the lower have is red with white painted comma-stroke leaves. This ornament has a cloudy appearance to the upper half due to degradation of the inner silvering. Both ornaments have some typical minor age wear - small paint scratches and glitter loss. No chips or breaks.
4 German Antique Free Blown Bell Glass Christmas Ornaments
All four of these early 1900s to 1920s free blown glass Christmas ornaments were made in Germany, though two have non-original, replacement metal caps. They're just over 3 to 3-3/4 inches high, all with little bulb clappers at the bottom pontils. One is twisted and ribbed, the others are essentially the same tapered bell shape, just decorated differently with rings or stripes and white painted wavy lines. The ornaments are delicate, made of almost paper-thin glass - it always amazes me to such such fragile items still intact after so many years. There is some expected finish wear and loss of the inner silvering. The large gold and silver bell has a chipped pike which is covered by the oversize metal cap. The pink and blue bell also has a pike chip to a lesser extent but all four hang securely. I know shabby old beauties like this aren't to everyone's taste, but I actually prefer them on my own Christmas tree.
Flesh Face Decal Eyes Santa With Tree Glass Christmas Ornament
A very nice example of post-war Western Germany figural glass ornaments, this 4-1/2 inch silvered Santa Claus has a realistic look with well-painted flesh tone face and long lashed blue eye decals. The fur trim of his bright red coat is coated in white mica glitter, but the white painted beard is unglittered, another sign of care taken in decoration. Santa carries a green pine or feather tree in his arms, it's either lightly painted or the green has faded somewhat over the years. The metal cap is marked West Germany. Excellent condition with no damage and none of the usual flaking of the face paint.
Santa Claus In Chimney And Church Scene Glass Christmas Ornaments
A pair of silvered glass Christmas ornaments from 1980s West Germany, one depicting Santa in a brick chimney, the other an embossed village church scene. The Santa ornament is 4-3/4 inches high. A filled yellow toy sack is slung over his shoulder as he goes down the chimney. Santa's cuffs and beard are dusted in sparkly white mica glitter. The other ornament is a slightly flattened round disc shape, 3-1/2 diameter. The church scene is embossed in high relief on both sides, all silver except for red roofs and bell tower, green pine tree, yellow windows, and white mica snow along the mountain tops and on the ground. The blue color is apparently a reflection of the shirt I was wearing when I took the pictures. Both ornaments are in excellent condition with no damage or wear.
These beautiful jewel tone 3-1/2 inch high grape cluster Christmas ornaments are unsilvered. The metal caps are oxidized but I believe they're marked West Germany. The mold detail is very well defined and the colors are lovely - deep magenta pink, bright green, and purple. The ornaments have no damage and are in excellent condition.
A very nice boxed assortment of twelve larger blown glass fancy Christmas ornaments, made in Poland in the 1950s. There are fancy indent and stenciled teardrops, indent rounds, hot air balloon or parachute shapes, and a triple indent with mica bulb finial and hand painted flowers. The ornaments are 3 to 4 inches high. The stenciled Santa Claus teardrop has a damaged pike but it still hangs fine - you may wish to put a coat of clear nail polish around the top to stabilize it. The pink balloon shape ornament has an oversize, non-original metal cap which covers a pike chip, it hangs securely as well. Other than mild glitter or finish wear from age and handling, there are no other issues. The box has one split lid corner, otherwise it's in good condition.
Adorable Christmas Tree ornament and music box measuring approximately 4-3/4 high and 3-1/4 diameter at base. The tree ornament opens up about half way on hinges and features an animated train going around a small tree playing Oh Christmas Tree !! Music box winds at base... toys and gifts around outside of base are in relief. A unique ornament to give or keep! Excellent condition!
Bradford Plastic 3d Windowpane Cage Christmas Ornaments
These seven colorful dimensional plastic Christmas ornaments were made by Bradford Novelty in the 1950s. Five are cutout balls, just over 3 inches diameter, with colored plastic bells hanging inside, visible through the holly decorated window panes . The other two ornaments, a bell and a ball shape, have plastic reindeer figures inside hanging from the centers. The blue ornament with the gold bell has a break to one of the plastic side panels, otherwise excellent condition.
Red And Green Bottle Brush Christmas Star Ornaments
A pair of pretty 6-point star shape Christmas wreath decorations for hanging in your holiday window or on the tree. One is green, the other red, each is decorated with silvered glass beads and a glass ball ornament center, then dusted with large-flake red or green glitter. The stars are 6 inches diameter and have gold cord hangers. The center red ornament of the red star has some finish wear, otherwise both stars are in very good vintage condition.
2 Rare Usa 1930s Paneled Bells Glass Christmas Ornaments
These two rare glass Christmas ornaments are in an uncommon 4-paneled, tapered bell or lantern shape, made only in the late 1930s - among the earliest American made massed produced ornaments. They're about 3 inches high and have white hand painted flowers on each panel. One is bright metallic blue, the other deep gold, both with lime green painted lines dividing the panels. The painted finish is strong and vibrant on both ornaments. There is some very slight finish wear, much less than many ornaments half their age. Both metal caps are marked Made In U.S. of A. - I love how they used to put the of in there, that word was dropped by the mid 1940s. They would be prized additions to any collection of early USA glass ornaments.
9 Vintage Japan Shapes And Figural Glass Christmas Ornaments
An assortment of nine silvered glass Christmas ornaments, made in Japan from the 1930s to 1950s. Described in order starting with the second photo: 2-1/4 inch house or cottage, each side molded and painted differently. 2-3/4 standing Santa Claus. 1-3/4 round indent, white with mica glitter painted comma stroke flower on the back. 3-1/4 high teardrop with painted stripes and comma-stroke flower decoration, metal cap marked Occupied Japan. Fat triple indent with side petals and embossed flower center. This was also made in Occupied Japan. Small silver pinecone with white paint snow frost, 2 inches high. Red grape or berry cluster 2-1/2 , paint wear more to one side than the other. Silver organic nut or berry type shapes with leaf caps, a little over 2 inches high. The ornaments have no chips or breaks, just normal finish wear other than the red grapes described above.
1950s West Germany Madonna Glass Christmas Ornament
I found this 4 inch tall 1950s Madonna glass Christmas ornament listed in George Johnson's Pictorial Guide To Christmas book valued at $150 to $175 - same mold, same size, same type of metal cap, but the colors are different. The book ornament is silver with black hair and an almost white face. I think mine is more attractive with the flesh tone face and hands, pink gown, green robe, and gold hair. Even her fingernails are painted red. The ornament is in excellent condition with no damage and excellent paint coverage. The green looks a little washed out at the back of the ornament - I'm not sure if it's worn or just how it was made.
Clip On Stork Or Pelican Unsilvered German Glass Christmas Ornament
This antique German clip-on Christmas ornament is usually called a stork, but the extra long open orange beak reminds me more of the pelicans that live near our local lakes here in Idaho. Made of unsilvered blown glass with a tail of spun glass fibers, the bird is 3 inches high by about 5 inches long from beak to tail. The tin clip is marked Germany. The ornament is in excellent vintage condition with almost no paint loss. The tail feathers, fused securely at one end, tend to fall out of the pike - you may wish to secure them with a dab of glue.
A clip on ornament in the shape of a burning candle. These ornaments would clip onto a Christmas tree branch. The ornament has a paper label, blue with white lettering, Made in Germany. The ornament measures 3 in. high and is in very good condition.
An ornament of Santa's Head on both sides. His mustache & brim of his hat have silver sparkles. He has the cutest smile and face. He measures approx. 3 in. dia. and is in very good condition. There are two ornaments available, price is for one.
An over shaped ornament with Rudolph raised on the front and a raised silver snowflake on the back. The cap is signed, and it is hard to make out, but possible GAK. The ornament has blue silver sparkles around the outer edge. The ornament measures 2 in. wide by 3 in. high and is in very good condition.
Napco Mini Bone China Starry Eye Christmas Snowman Ornaments
These two adorable little bone china Christmas figures are missing the original foil Napcoware labels but they were made in Japan by Napco. Just 2 inches, high, they're tree ornaments - cheerful little snowmen with black starry eyes. One holds a lantern with one green mittened hand held high in a wave. The other holds a lyre or harp. The snowman with the lantern is missing a berry from the green spaghetti rim around his hat, otherwise they're in excellent vintage condition with wire hangers at the tops intact.

Japan Santa Claus Porcelain Bells Christmas Ornaments
These four cute porcelain ceramic Santa Claus heads are Christmas bell ornaments, made in Japan in the 1950s. They're 2-1/4 inches high, each with a ceramic bead clapper on a string inside to make them ring. The bells have no chips or damage, though like most Japan made dimestore items of this era, they have the occasional minor paint flaw, such as the red specks on one Santa's beard. All those white spots in my photos are from glare and reflections, the paint is good.
Shiny Brite Unsilvered Ringed Mica Trees Christmas War Ornaments
These scarce unsilvered ringed trees striped glass Christmas ornaments were made by Shiny Brite in the World War II years, 1942 to 1945. The ornament manufacturers had to use transparent sprayed, flashed, and painted-on colors during that time due to military rationing and shortages of silver nitrate. The 3 inch ornaments are shaped like ringed trees or stylized bells. They're decorated with transparent red and green stripes on the two center interior rings, alternating with bands of white mica glitter on the exterior rings. The ornaments are in wonderful condition for their age and type with only minor wear to the mica glitter. This shape is hard to find unsilvered, especially so in such great condition.
A trio of beautiful deep pink silvered glass indent Christmas ornaments, made in 1960s West Germany. They're 3-1/4 inches high by almost 3 diameter and have brilliant, deeply faceted embossed star flower center indents tinted bright yellow and pink. The openings are decorated with thick silver glitter in loopy line circles. All three ornaments are in excellent condition with no damage and little if any wear.
Poland Blown Glass Pink Blue Balloon Finial Christmas Ornament
This Polish silvered blown glass Christmas ornament dates to just after World War II, made when Poland was struggling to re-establish its economy after years of Nazi occupation. The ornament is a little over 4 inches tall, blown in a hot air balloon style shape with recessed ribs around the upper bulb and a fat drop shape lower finial bulb. The ornament is painted half blue, half hot pink, separated by painted white squiggle lines at the sides. The recessed ribs were decorated with lines of mica glitter, most of which has worn away. The blue coloring has some fading and wear as shown but the bright pink side has hardly any. There are no chips or breaks.
Emerald Green Antique German Kugel Christmas Ornament 4 Inch
This late 1800s glass kugel Christmas ornament has a pretty emerald green color rather than the typical apple or lime greens - more blue tint than yellow. It's fairly large 4 inches diameter, 12-5/8 inches in circumference. Authentic kugels like this are made of colored rather than clear glass, silvered on the inside The condition and quality are excellent - wonderful mirroring and even coloring with only a few tiny dark spots from degradation of the inner mercury silvering. I noted only one or two tiny bubbles in the glass, more are common. The embossed brass cap is the baroque five-swirl with balls. It's securely attached with no sliding. The kugel has the typical circle scratch around the cap, caused by the inner wires used to attach the cap.
German Santa Claus With Basket 1930s Glass Christmas Ornament
This 1930s Germany silvered glass Christmas ornament is Santa Holding Basket With Folded Hands, number 9073 in Lightner's Christmas Rarities book of antique German ornaments. It's just over 3-1/4 inches high. Santa wears a white fur trimmed red coat and has the gold basket over one arm. His mustache looks painted black in a Fu Manchu style, but I believe it's just a random coincidence that the inner mercury silvering happened to darken in that area. There is very minor wear to the red paint, not bad for an ornament of this age and mostly occurring to the back. No chips, breaks, or damage.
Most of these 12 small Shiny Brite glass ornaments are from the late 1930s to early 1940s. All are in Art Deco inspired ringed lantern shapes and are about 2 inches high. Most have a stepped or stacked rings design, two are a little different with a wide center band and a beehive or bullet shape bottom. Most of the gold and silver colored ornaments have some inner silvering loss, with a semi-transparent effect when held to the light. The cobalt blue, bright pink, and red/green striped lanterns have some finish wear from age and handling. There are no chips or breaks. Three ornaments have non-Shiny Brite metal caps. The non-original box and lid are a marriage but are in good condition.
Clay Face Japan Chenille Santa Christmas Candy Container
This old Japan chenille Santa Claus figure is a candy container. Foil wrapped chocolate coins or other candy were originally stashed inside the net mesh drawstring toy sack slung over Santa's back. He's a little larger than most Santa figures of this type, about 6-1/4 inches high. His face is hand painted molded composition clay, his long beard is real cotton. He wears a red felt hat trimmed with fluffy white chenille fur , his suit is coil-wrapped red chenille with white trim. He has blue chenille pants and black boots, and he carries a green chenille tree in one arm. The Santa is in very good condition with no damage. One pants leg has some fading of the blue chenille and there are remnants of cardboard at the bottoms of his feet, which were probably originally glued to a paper stand or platform. With the mesh candy container toy sack, he's one of the best Santa figures of this type I've had.
This authentic red kugel glass Christmas ornament was made in Germany in the late 1800s to early 1900s. Slightly oval in shape, it measures 1-3/4 inches diameter, just under 2 inches high, and 5-1/2 inches in circumference. It has a 5-leaf brass cap Kugels are colored within the glass, not painted or finished on the outside, and the mercury silvering is on the inside. The original mercury silvering on the inside has naturally degraded over the years, causing clouding and spottiness around the upper third of the kugel as shown. I tried to show all sides in the pictures. There are some normal tiny bubbles in the glass,. The brass cap is securely attached with no sliding, it does have oxidized patina.
Feather Hair Choir Girl In Pink Feather Gown Christmas Ornament
This cute 1950s Japan Christmas ornament was once an angel, but she's lost her wings and has been demoted to a choir girl. She has yellow real feather hair and a sweet hand painted composition or paper maché face. Her gown is made of pink feathers , the front decorated with two flocked paper white flowers with tiny lacquered bead centers. She holds a gold foil scrap Noel song book in her white chenille arms. A paper Made in Japan label is inside the paper cone of her dress - it's open so you can put her on top of the Christmas tree. The angel displays nicely but she has a couple of minor issues in addition to missing wings. The fine yellow hair feathers are sparse at the back of her head, and some of the pink dress feathers are worn or shedding. She's about 4-1/2 inches high.
Angel In Christmas Stocking 1960s Japan Ornament Mint In Package
A cute 1960s Christmas ornament, unused and sealed in the original package. It's a little angel in a padded felt Christmas stocking, 5 inches high. The angel has a soft vinyl plastic head, gold eyelash braid halo, foil wings, lace collar, red felt skirt, and chenille arms. A wrapped package and a little bottle brush tree are peeking out of the stocking opening along with the angel. The stocking is shaped like a pixie boot, green felt with gold braid trim and red and gold foil stars. In perfect, mint condition.
Box Poland Blue Red Blown Glass Icicle Christmas Ornaments
This set of seven blown glass icicle or long drop silvered Christmas ornaments comes in the original box. They were made in 1950s to early 1960s Poland, each icicle measures about 5 inches long. There are four solid dark blue and four red ornaments. Some of the blue icicles have some finish wear, no chips or breaks.
Box 4 West Germany Satin Pink Glass Bell Christmas Ornaments
Four pretty pink silvered blown glass clapper bell Christmas ornaments, made in West Germany. They have a satin frost baby pink finish and measure just over 3 inches high. The bells still have their original department store price tags tied to the caps, presumably they were never used though age and storage have caused some very slight spotting. One has a wired silver bead clapper inside, the others have a stemmed composition bead. Other than the very slight spotting to a couple of the bells, they're in excellent condition. The Lanissa box is not original.
Dozen Miniature Porcelain Christmas Bell Ornaments
Here are 12 miniature porcelain bell Christmas tree ornaments, made in Japan in the 1950s. Nine are just a little over an inch high, squared and dome shapes. Each is decorated with a small holiday decal such as Santa Claus, a candle, or bells and holly along with the greeting Merry Christmas in tiny gold print. The other three bells are a bit larger, from 1-1/2 to about 2 inches high. Two have candle decals with Christmas greetings in gold script, one has a big red poinsettia. The bells all have their ceramic bead clappers and gold cord or ribbon hangers at the tops. No chips or damage.
Holt Howard 1950s Miniature Porcelain Christmas Ornaments
Although these adorable tiny porcelain Christmas ornaments are only marked Japan, they were made by Holt Howard in the 1950s. They came in a box of six or eight. Here are five, each different: Santa, angel, elf face, pixie style angel, and Rudolph the reindeer. The ornaments are only 1-1/2 to 1-3/4 inches high. Factory mass produced to sell cheaply, they have some minor manufacturing paint flaws but no chips or damage. There is some minor paint wear, mainly to the Santa's hands and the elf head's red nose.
A selection of ten classic 1940s unsilvered glass Christmas ornaments, all produced during World War II when silvering agents were available for military use only. Sizes range from 2 to about 2-3/4 inches diameter. At least four ornaments were made by Shiny Brite, probably more but due to war-era paper caps having been replaced with spare metal ones, it's often hard to tell who the manufacturers are. One ornament still has its original paper hanger - it's one of the two with sprigs of wired tinsel inside (the red, white and green striped and the solid red ornaments). All but one are decorated with horizontal painted rings or stripes, a couple of the Shiny Brites have white and colored mica stripes. There are no chips or breaks, only the type of normal finish wear and scratches to the paint you'd expect in 70-year old ornaments.
Shiny Brite made these figural glass Christmas ornaments from the late 1930s to early 1940s. They may have brought them back for a short time right after World War II, but were gone for good by the beginning of the 1950s, in favor of the decorated round and space-age style shape ornaments. They're about 2-1/2 diameter and have a beaded or bumpy texture with flower indents on both sides. I usually see them in silver, but these are brightly colored in hot pink or magenta and mint green. Both ornaments have their correct scalloped and ribbed metal caps marked Shiny Brite Made In U.S.A. and both are in excellent condition with bold color, no damage and virtually no age wear, scratches, or spotting. They are not new however, and do have some loss of the inner silvering near at the necks and just below.
4 Music Themed Vintage Glass Christmas Ornaments Horns, Cellos
Four old musical instrument shape figural glass Christmas ornaments, two horns and two cello or guitar type stringed instruments. They were made in Germany or possibly Czechoslovakia in the 1930s or earlier. The oldest ornament is the large gold horn, 5-1/2 inches long. At nearly 100 years old, the horn does have some finish wear and rust marks on the back side but there are no chips or breaks. The other horn is a tuba type, 3 inches high in tri-color red, silver, and dark green. It has some old snow flocking and some inner silvering loss at the center. The green cello is unsilvered with pink and white painted details. The 3-3/4 inch pink cello has some finish wear, mostly to the back. Though some of the backs show quite a bit of finish wear, they display nicely on a vintage decorated Christmas tree.
A dozen small Polish blown round glass Christmas ornaments from the late 1940s to 1950s, all with handpainted and glittered scenes on brightly colored backgrounds. They're about 2 inches diameter and come in a plain manila covered ornament box with Fantasia Brand printed on the end. Six ornaments are decorated with a snowman against a rail fence, one of these has a damaged neck though it will still hang. Five others have a village church with pine trees scene, and one has a pair of bells tied with a bow, hand painted pine boughs on the back side. The ornaments are more than 60 years old and doe have some typical finish or glitter wear. Three are almost transparent from age deterioration of the inner silvering. The box is intact though the cellophane window in the lid is split.

6 Fancy Antique German Foil Christmas Light Reflectors
These six fancy layered foil and tinsel Christmas light reflectors were made in Germany about 100 years ago. They're 4 to 4-1/2 inches diameter, made of layers of thin colored foil - in most cases, a different color on each side of the foil layer. All are wrapped in fine wired gold feather tinsel, some have little foil rosettes or pinwheel decorations riveted to the outer edges. The paper pulp center rings are marked Germany. The delicate reflectors are very old and show it. Most have small tears, shifted tinsel garland, or missing foil rosettes but they're still functional and can be used and displayed. When you smooth them out and lift up the centers a bit to reflect the bottom foil color off the middle layer, they are far prettier than my picture shows.
2 Opaque Pink Unsilvered 1940s Christmas War Ornaments
A pair of 1940s unsilvered American glass war ornaments in rare opaque bright Pepto Bismol pink. The smaller 2 inch diameter ornament is solid pink and still has its original paper hanger. During World War II, the metal shortage was critical enough that ornament manufacturers soon ran through their stock of metal caps. They were forced to improvise with paper, cardboard, and even wood with string hangers. They weren't very sturdy and consumers often removed them, making the paper caps much harder to find today. The larger 2-3/4 ornament is painted the same shade of bright opaque pink. It's decorated with a big blue comma-stroke painted flower in the center surrounded above and below by pairs of white horizontal stripes or rings. The white stripes have remains of clear glass glitter, the blue flower still has some of the original blue mica glitter. This ornament exhibits more elaborate hand decoration than was commonly found in wartime American ornaments. Both ornaments have a few typical scratches or flakes to the paint as shown, nothing serious. Not only is the decoration of the larger ornament unusual, the pink color is quite rare.
Rare Shiny Brite Unsilvered Pink Blue Stepped Ring Christmas War Ornaments
These four small Shiny Brite unsilvered 1940s Christmas ornaments are painted in rare unusual color combinations of bright Pepto Bismol pink, medium blue, and ivory or off-white stripes and bands. They were produced during World War II, made without silvering agents due to military rationing and shortages. This stacked or stepped rings Art Deco style lantern shape was discontinued by the end of the war. The ornaments are 2-1/4 inches high. Two have a bad side and a good side, where there is noticeable paint loss to the center pink stripes on one side only (second photo). The other sides are fine however, and the other two ornaments have little if any paint wear. Very scarce and unusual examples of American war ornaments.
A pair of scarce Shiny Brite figural glass Christmas ornaments from the late 1930s to early 1940s in an Oriental style lantern shape with thin horizontal ribbing. The ornaments are 3-1/4 inches high, the largest of two sizes made in this style. These lantern type ornaments were discontinued shortly after the start of World War II and were not brought back into production. The colors are vivid bright pink, and yellow, almost chartreuse. Both are in wonderful condition for their age with good color and little finish wear.
German Scrap Angel On Wire Wrapped Glass Balloon Christmas Ornament
This late 1930s German blown glass Christmas ornament has a paper litho scrap angel or cherub holding rose bouquets standing in a cloud of cotton. She's attached to the long silver pike of the balloon ornament, the whole thing wrapped in crinkled or curly fine gauge gold wire. The 2-1/2 inch diameter ball is silvered inside with a wide turquoise blue center stripe, but it appears pearly white due to natural age deterioration of the inner mercury silvering. The ornament is 6-1/4 inches high and in very good condition with only one loose wire.
Patriotic Red Silver Blue Blown Glass Bugle Horn Christmas Ornament
This German free blown glass horn Christmas ornament measures 3-3/4 inches long to the top of the pike, not including the wire loop hanger. It's silvered with red at the top, blue at the base or horn opening. The inside is open, not covered with paper or metal as are some ornaments of this type. There are no chips or breaks, only a touch of age wear to the red and blue finish and some light remnants of snow flocking.
Box Lanissa 1960s Red Mica Plaid Glass Icicle Christmas Ornaments
This four long drop or icicle silvered blown glass Christmas ornaments are Lanissa brand, manufactured in 1960s West Germany for Max Eckardt & Sons (Shiny Brite). There are four icicles, each about 6 inches long, decorated with red and gold mica glitter lines in plaid pattern on satin ivory-white. Other than some light interior silvering loss at the upper third of the drops and some normal loss of mica glitter, they're in good condition with no chips or breaks. The cellophane window in the box lid is loose at one side but the box is intact.
Mica Cardboard Stable Scene Angel Santa Christmas Ornaments
A pair 1950s or earlier 3-dimensional cardboard mica stable, manger, or house Christmas ornaments with standing plastic figures in front of the openings. One has an angel appearing to kiss a fawn or little reindeer, the other has Santa Claus in his reindeer driven sleigh. The stables have pitched roofs and cardboard pine trees at the front, red cellophane windows on the back walls. They're encrusted with mica glitter and measure about 2-1/2 inches wide by 1-3/4 high at the centers. There is slight wear to the mica on the rooftops and each has a thin slit to one of the red cellophane windows, possibly a manufacturing flaw. One ornament has a foil label reading Pat. Hand Made Japan .
Ten 1950s Porcelain Christmas Angel Bell Ornaments In Box
These cute porcelain angel bells are Christmas ornaments, 2-1/4 inches high. They come in their original box which holds 12 angels, but only ten are present. The angels have wavy blond hair and each holds a guitar, harp, or song book with the words Merry Christmas printed in gold lettering. Each has a ceramic clapper tied under her dress to make the bells ring when gently shaken. At some point the owner tried to wash them, resulting in near disaster to the cold red paint. The four angels in red have considerable wear to the red paint. The six angels in white gowns are fine, though one has a split to the porcelain at the hem of her skirt which looks like a manufacturing flaw. If you wish, you can easily rinse off the remaining red paint on the four affected angels and have a completely white set. The original box has some storage wear but is intact.
Bucilla Jeweled Sequin Santa Christmas Delivery Stocking Kit
This sealed, never used Bucilla number 82073 Christmas stocking jeweled stitchery craft kit isn't dated, but there's no barcode so it would have to date to the mid 1970s or before. The kit will make an 18 inch long Christmas stocking titled Christmas Delivery, depicting a cute Santa Claus at the Christmas tree unloading his bag of toys. The kit is complete with stamped felt (applique and stocking pieces), Persian wool yarn, cotton embroidery floss, sequins, beads, braid trims, needles, and instructions. It is in mint condition, never used or opened.

12 Unsilvered Glass American War Ornaments Transparent Stripes
A dozen smaller, mostly striped unsilvered 1940s glass Christmas ornaments, made during World War II without silvering due to rationing and shortages of silver nitrate. They're about 2 inches diameter. One ornament is solid transparent blue, the rest have multi-colored painted stripes with transparent backgrounds. One ornament still has its original paper cap, also a result of wartime metal shortages. Some of the painted stripes have scratches or flakes but the transparent background colors are in good condition. The smaller pink ornament at the front in the last photo has a clump of antique lead tinsel inside. They'll be shipped in an ornament box bottom with no lid or dividers, individually bubble wrapped of course.
Premier Red Blue 1940s Ringed Barrels Christmas Ornaments
A trio of 1940s American made silvered glass Christmas ornaments in the shape of stacked ring barrels or lanterns, painted red and blue on silver. They were made by Premier Glass Works, as evidenced by the distinctive metal caps as well as the shape. They're 3-1/4 inches long and in good vintage condition with some mild wear or fading to the red color and typical inner mercury silvering loss near the pikes. No chips or breaks.
Large Embossed Church Glass Christmas Ornament Plus 2 Others
These three 1980s silvered glass Christmas ornaments from West Germany are large flat rounds or discs, 4 inches high by over 3-1/2 inches wide. One is embossed with a big red poinsettia flower, another an angel in a pleated skirt holding a banner, and the third has a scene of a church with pine tree and mountain peaks in the background. The scenes are repeating on the backs. Only the church ornament is perfect. The poinsettia has a hole in the side wall, about 2 o'clock in the second photo. The angel ornament has a small burn hole from a light bulb on one side with a crack line extending out to the right of the hole (first photo, about 7 o'clock). I've sealed both breaks with clear nail polish (invisible on the ornament) to prevent further damage. The metal caps are marked West Germany.
These 1950s decorated Polish blown glass Christmas ornaments are mostly teardrop shaped, about 3 inches high. There are a few round, five are indents. All 18 originally had mica glitter decoration but after nearly 60 years, much of it has worn away - they're still pretty though. One of the fish scale or pine cone decorated teardrop ornaments is painted solid black, not dark green or dark blue, quite unusual. Expect some minor finish loss, spotting, or inner silvering wear from age and handling, no chips or breaks. The half pink, half gold teardrop is shown only in the first photo, it got left out of the others if you're counting.
Pair Czech Blown Glass Clapper Bell Christmas Ornaments Stripes
These vintage silvered blown glass bell ornaments were made in Czechoslovakia. Super thin and fragile, they're about 2-1/2 inches high, decorated with horizontal rings or bands of gold mica glitter on satin ivory halfway down. The lower halves of the bells are silver with painted stripes of green, yellow, blue, and pink. Tiny glass bead clappers are wired inside to make the bells ring. The metal caps are marked Czechoslovakia. Excellent condition.
15 Vintage Blown Glass Icicle Drop Christmas Ornaments
A mixed assortment of 15 Mid Century blown glass icicle or long skinny teardrop Christmas ornaments, made in Poland and West Germany. Most are solid colors of red and green, plus one each of blue, gold, and pink. Two are more fancy with painted spiral stripes or twisted glass with glitter snow frost cap. The icicle ornaments range from 4-3/4 to 7-3/4 inches long. Some have some minor finish wear or spotting, two have replacements metal caps covering chips at the pike openings.
8 Glass Pine Cone Christmas Ornaments 1930s To 1950s
An assortment of eight figural glass pinecone shape Christmas ornaments dating from the 1930s to 1950s. Three are from Germany, three were made in Japan, and the two larger silver pine cones have Shiny Brite USA metal caps, but I'm not sure if they're original or replacements. The silver pine cones are just over 3 inches high. The larger gold German cone is 3-1/2 inches. The smallest is the German orange ornament at just over 2-1/2 inches high. The Japan pinecones have white paint on the tips to simulate frost, the red German cone has white mica. When held up to the light, some are slightly transparent from loss of the inner silvering. All have good color.
