4 Music Themed Vintage Glass Christmas Ornaments Horns, Cellos
Four old musical instrument shape figural glass Christmas ornaments, two horns and two cello or guitar type stringed instruments. They were made in Germany or possibly Czechoslovakia in the 1930s or earlier. The oldest ornament is the large gold horn, 5-1/2 inches long. At nearly 100 years old, the horn does have some finish wear and rust marks on the back side but there are no chips or breaks. The other horn is a tuba type, 3 inches high in tri-color red, silver, and dark green. It has some old snow flocking and some inner silvering loss at the center. The green cello is unsilvered with pink and white painted details. The 3-3/4 inch pink cello has some finish wear, mostly to the back. Though some of the backs show quite a bit of finish wear, they display nicely on a vintage decorated Christmas tree.

They're about 2 inches diameter and come in a plain manila covered ornament box with Fantasia Brand printed on the end. Six ornaments are decorated with a snowman against a rail fence, one of these has a damaged neck though it will still hang. Five others have a village church with pine trees scene, and one has a pair of bells tied with a bow, hand painted pine boughs on the back side. The ornaments are more than 60 years old and doe have some typical finish or glitter wear. Three are almost transparent from age deterioration of the inner silvering. The box is intact though the cellophane window in the lid is split.

6 Fancy Antique German Foil Christmas Light Reflectors
These six fancy layered foil and tinsel Christmas light reflectors were made in Germany about 100 years ago. They're 4 to 4-1/2 inches diameter, made of layers of thin colored foil - in most cases, a different color on each side of the foil layer. All are wrapped in fine wired gold feather tinsel, some have little foil rosettes or pinwheel decorations riveted to the outer edges. The paper pulp center rings are marked Germany. The delicate reflectors are very old and show it. Most have small tears, shifted tinsel garland, or missing foil rosettes but they're still functional and can be used and displayed. When you smooth them out and lift up the centers a bit to reflect the bottom foil color off the middle layer, they are far prettier than my picture shows.
2 Opaque Pink Unsilvered 1940s Christmas War Ornaments
A pair of 1940s unsilvered American glass war ornaments in rare opaque bright Pepto Bismol pink. The smaller 2 inch diameter ornament is solid pink and still has its original paper hanger. During World War II, the metal shortage was critical enough that ornament manufacturers soon ran through their stock of metal caps. They were forced to improvise with paper, cardboard, and even wood with string hangers. They weren't very sturdy and consumers often removed them, making the paper caps much harder to find today. The larger 2-3/4 ornament is painted the same shade of bright opaque pink. It's decorated with a big blue comma-stroke painted flower in the center surrounded above and below by pairs of white horizontal stripes or rings. The white stripes have remains of clear glass glitter, the blue flower still has some of the original blue mica glitter. This ornament exhibits more elaborate hand decoration than was commonly found in wartime American ornaments. Both ornaments have a few typical scratches or flakes to the paint as shown, nothing serious. Not only is the decoration of the larger ornament unusual, the pink color is quite rare.
Rare Shiny Brite Unsilvered Pink Blue Stepped Ring Christmas War Ornaments
These four small Shiny Brite unsilvered 1940s Christmas ornaments are painted in rare unusual color combinations of bright Pepto Bismol pink, medium blue, and ivory or off-white stripes and bands. They were produced during World War II, made without silvering agents due to military rationing and shortages. This stacked or stepped rings Art Deco style lantern shape was discontinued by the end of the war. The ornaments are 2-1/4 inches high. Two have a bad side and a good side, where there is noticeable paint loss to the center pink stripes on one side only (second photo). The other sides are fine however, and the other two ornaments have little if any paint wear. Very scarce and unusual examples of American war ornaments.
A pair of scarce Shiny Brite figural glass Christmas ornaments from the late 1930s to early 1940s in an Oriental style lantern shape with thin horizontal ribbing. The ornaments are 3-1/4 inches high, the largest of two sizes made in this style. These lantern type ornaments were discontinued shortly after the start of World War II and were not brought back into production. The colors are vivid bright pink, and yellow, almost chartreuse. Both are in wonderful condition for their age with good color and little finish wear.
German Scrap Angel On Wire Wrapped Glass Balloon Christmas Ornament
This late 1930s German blown glass Christmas ornament has a paper litho scrap angel or cherub holding rose bouquets standing in a cloud of cotton. She's attached to the long silver pike of the balloon ornament, the whole thing wrapped in crinkled or curly fine gauge gold wire. The 2-1/2 inch diameter ball is silvered inside with a wide turquoise blue center stripe, but it appears pearly white due to natural age deterioration of the inner mercury silvering. The ornament is 6-1/4 inches high and in very good condition with only one loose wire.
Patriotic Red Silver Blue Blown Glass Bugle Horn Christmas Ornament
This German free blown glass horn Christmas ornament measures 3-3/4 inches long to the top of the pike, not including the wire loop hanger. It's silvered with red at the top, blue at the base or horn opening. The inside is open, not covered with paper or metal as are some ornaments of this type. There are no chips or breaks, only a touch of age wear to the red and blue finish and some light remnants of snow flocking.
Box Lanissa 1960s Red Mica Plaid Glass Icicle Christmas Ornaments
This four long drop or icicle silvered blown glass Christmas ornaments are Lanissa brand, manufactured in 1960s West Germany for Max Eckardt & Sons (Shiny Brite). There are four icicles, each about 6 inches long, decorated with red and gold mica glitter lines in plaid pattern on satin ivory-white. Other than some light interior silvering loss at the upper third of the drops and some normal loss of mica glitter, they're in good condition with no chips or breaks. The cellophane window in the box lid is loose at one side but the box is intact.
Mica Cardboard Stable Scene Angel Santa Christmas Ornaments
A pair 1950s or earlier 3-dimensional cardboard mica stable, manger, or house Christmas ornaments with standing plastic figures in front of the openings. One has an angel appearing to kiss a fawn or little reindeer, the other has Santa Claus in his reindeer driven sleigh. The stables have pitched roofs and cardboard pine trees at the front, red cellophane windows on the back walls. They're encrusted with mica glitter and measure about 2-1/2 inches wide by 1-3/4 high at the centers. There is slight wear to the mica on the rooftops and each has a thin slit to one of the red cellophane windows, possibly a manufacturing flaw. One ornament has a foil label reading Pat. Hand Made Japan .
Ten 1950s Porcelain Christmas Angel Bell Ornaments In Box
These cute porcelain angel bells are Christmas ornaments, 2-1/4 inches high. They come in their original box which holds 12 angels, but only ten are present. The angels have wavy blond hair and each holds a guitar, harp, or song book with the words Merry Christmas printed in gold lettering. Each has a ceramic clapper tied under her dress to make the bells ring when gently shaken. At some point the owner tried to wash them, resulting in near disaster to the cold red paint. The four angels in red have considerable wear to the red paint. The six angels in white gowns are fine, though one has a split to the porcelain at the hem of her skirt which looks like a manufacturing flaw. If you wish, you can easily rinse off the remaining red paint on the four affected angels and have a completely white set. The original box has some storage wear but is intact.
Bucilla Jeweled Sequin Santa Christmas Delivery Stocking Kit
This sealed, never used Bucilla number 82073 Christmas stocking jeweled stitchery craft kit isn't dated, but there's no barcode so it would have to date to the mid 1970s or before. The kit will make an 18 inch long Christmas stocking titled Christmas Delivery, depicting a cute Santa Claus at the Christmas tree unloading his bag of toys. The kit is complete with stamped felt (applique and stocking pieces), Persian wool yarn, cotton embroidery floss, sequins, beads, braid trims, needles, and instructions. It is in mint condition, never used or opened.

12 Unsilvered Glass American War Ornaments Transparent Stripes
A dozen smaller, mostly striped unsilvered 1940s glass Christmas ornaments, made during World War II without silvering due to rationing and shortages of silver nitrate. They're about 2 inches diameter. One ornament is solid transparent blue, the rest have multi-colored painted stripes with transparent backgrounds. One ornament still has its original paper cap, also a result of wartime metal shortages. Some of the painted stripes have scratches or flakes but the transparent background colors are in good condition. The smaller pink ornament at the front in the last photo has a clump of antique lead tinsel inside. They'll be shipped in an ornament box bottom with no lid or dividers, individually bubble wrapped of course.
Premier Red Blue 1940s Ringed Barrels Christmas Ornaments
A trio of 1940s American made silvered glass Christmas ornaments in the shape of stacked ring barrels or lanterns, painted red and blue on silver. They were made by Premier Glass Works, as evidenced by the distinctive metal caps as well as the shape. They're 3-1/4 inches long and in good vintage condition with some mild wear or fading to the red color and typical inner mercury silvering loss near the pikes. No chips or breaks.
Large Embossed Church Glass Christmas Ornament Plus 2 Others
These three 1980s silvered glass Christmas ornaments from West Germany are large flat rounds or discs, 4 inches high by over 3-1/2 inches wide. One is embossed with a big red poinsettia flower, another an angel in a pleated skirt holding a banner, and the third has a scene of a church with pine tree and mountain peaks in the background. The scenes are repeating on the backs. Only the church ornament is perfect. The poinsettia has a hole in the side wall, about 2 o'clock in the second photo. The angel ornament has a small burn hole from a light bulb on one side with a crack line extending out to the right of the hole (first photo, about 7 o'clock). I've sealed both breaks with clear nail polish (invisible on the ornament) to prevent further damage. The metal caps are marked West Germany.
These 1950s decorated Polish blown glass Christmas ornaments are mostly teardrop shaped, about 3 inches high. There are a few round, five are indents. All 18 originally had mica glitter decoration but after nearly 60 years, much of it has worn away - they're still pretty though. One of the fish scale or pine cone decorated teardrop ornaments is painted solid black, not dark green or dark blue, quite unusual. Expect some minor finish loss, spotting, or inner silvering wear from age and handling, no chips or breaks. The half pink, half gold teardrop is shown only in the first photo, it got left out of the others if you're counting.
Pair Czech Blown Glass Clapper Bell Christmas Ornaments Stripes
These vintage silvered blown glass bell ornaments were made in Czechoslovakia. Super thin and fragile, they're about 2-1/2 inches high, decorated with horizontal rings or bands of gold mica glitter on satin ivory halfway down. The lower halves of the bells are silver with painted stripes of green, yellow, blue, and pink. Tiny glass bead clappers are wired inside to make the bells ring. The metal caps are marked Czechoslovakia. Excellent condition.
15 Vintage Blown Glass Icicle Drop Christmas Ornaments
A mixed assortment of 15 Mid Century blown glass icicle or long skinny teardrop Christmas ornaments, made in Poland and West Germany. Most are solid colors of red and green, plus one each of blue, gold, and pink. Two are more fancy with painted spiral stripes or twisted glass with glitter snow frost cap. The icicle ornaments range from 4-3/4 to 7-3/4 inches long. Some have some minor finish wear or spotting, two have replacements metal caps covering chips at the pike openings.
8 Glass Pine Cone Christmas Ornaments 1930s To 1950s
An assortment of eight figural glass pinecone shape Christmas ornaments dating from the 1930s to 1950s. Three are from Germany, three were made in Japan, and the two larger silver pine cones have Shiny Brite USA metal caps, but I'm not sure if they're original or replacements. The silver pine cones are just over 3 inches high. The larger gold German cone is 3-1/2 inches. The smallest is the German orange ornament at just over 2-1/2 inches high. The Japan pinecones have white paint on the tips to simulate frost, the red German cone has white mica. When held up to the light, some are slightly transparent from loss of the inner silvering. All have good color.
Box Lanissa West Germany Blue White Mica Bells Christmas Ornaments
A boxed set of six silvered glass bell ornaments, made in Mid Century West Germany by Lanissa. Three are bright metallic blue with mica glitter squiggle line decoration. The other three are satin white, decorated with blue and mica glitter slash lines around the centers. The ornaments are in good vintage condition with some minor finish wear as shown. The box is in good condition.
Box Shiny Brite Striped Small Bells Christmas Ornaments
A box of one dozen 1950s Shiny Brite bell shape glass Christmas ornaments, 2 inches high. Two are solid pink and blue, the rest are decorated with horizontal bands and stripes, some with mica glitter. One ornament is unsilvered, made during World War II. Minor finish wear to some, no damage. The Shiny Brite box is yellowed from age, is missing the cellophane window, and has 2 taped splits to one end flap of the lid.
Box Retro West Germany Squiggle Mica 2 Tone Christmas Ornaments

They're about 2-3/4 inches diameter, painted with an airbrushed shading effect of creamy ivory at the tops gradually turning to pink or magenta near the centers. Lightning strike squiggle lines of mica glitter go all the way around the ornaments. The plastic caps are marked West Germany D.R.G. M. They have some minor age spotting and glitter wear, no chips or breaks. The box is in good condition.

This jumbo size felt Christmas stocking was made in 1960s Japan. It's mint and still sealed in the original package. The stocking measures 23 inches long from the scalloped green felt cuff to the tip of the toe. It's red with a happy appliqued felt Santa face in the center. The word Noel is printed in thick gold glitter on the foot surrounded by gold glitter starbursts.
1930s Premier Glass Double Indent Christmas Ornaments
These five double indent glass Christmas ornaments are among the very earliest American ornaments, made by Premier Glass Works in the mid to late 1930s and are not easy to find today. They are red, green, and blue, each one with a different embossed design in the center indent: layered star, concentric rings, thin rays, 5-petal flower, and 10-petal flower. The two smaller red ornaments are 1-3/4 inches diameter by about 2 high. The others are 2-1/2 inches diameter by 3-1/4 high. All five ornaments have the original, earliest Premier tin caps marked Premier Made In U.S.A. This company made some of the most attractive American ornaments in the 1930s and 1940s with nice quality finishes that stood up very well over the years, and these are no exception. All three are in wonderful condition for being about 75 years old.
2 East Germany Large Fancy Purple Teardrop Indent Glass Christmas Ornament
These beautiful silvered glass fat teardrop indent Christmas ornaments were made in East Germany in the 1960s or 1970s. They're more than 4-1/2 inches high by about 3 inches wide, with deep fluted center indents tinted in bright pink and yellow. Surrounding each indent is a nicely painted design of purple thumbprint flower petals, pink and white shaded comma-stroke leaves, and yellow sponged circles with center dots of mica glitter. The backs are shiny silver. Both ornaments are in excellent condition.
2 Japan Kugel Style Figural Berries Glass Christmas Ornaments
These pretty 1920s berry shaped blown glass Christmas ornaments were Japan's answer to German and French kugel Christmas ornaments. The glass isn't as heavy but the ornaments were made in similar manner to traditional kugels, with the mercury silvering on the inside of the ornaments and the color in the glass, not painted on. The ornaments are just over 3-1/4 inches high. One is a beautiful deep cobalt blue, made of blue glass with silvering on the inside. The other berry is made of amber glass, causing the interior silvering to appear gold. It was then painted with a clear orange tint. The orange finish has developed worn areas over the years, so that the ornament virtually glows with layers of amber, gold, and orange color. They have traditional metal ornaments caps marked Japan, not kugel style caps. Both ornaments are in excellent condition with no chips or damage. Price is for the pair.
Pink And Blue Stripes Unsilvered Christmas War Ornaments Wwii
These unsilvered 1940s glass Christmas ornaments are from World War II, when wartime restrictions on silvering agents forced manufacturers to use painted and flashed-on non-metallic colors and finishes. Two of the ornaments have paper hanger caps, also a result of metal shortages during the later years of the war. The 2-1/4 inch ornaments have some wear to the paint or age discoloration, but they're so pretty in unusual pink and blue stripes over clear transparent glass - unusual colors for this era. One has pink comma-stroke leaves above the blue stripes. There are no breaks or chips and the two fragile paper hangers are still intact without tears or bends.
Angel Cherub In Canoe Victorian Scrap Christmas Ornament
Lovely antique 1800s Victorian Christmas ornament with a beautiful embossed German paper litho scrap angel or cherub in a canoe. The ornament is 4-1/2 inches long. The curly haired angel holds a draped flower swag and wears a yellow skirt with blue tied sash. The cardboard canoe backing is covered in textured brown crepe and outlined in skinny wired gold feather tinsel garland. The tinsel is loose at the center right edge but the old original glue still holds it in place elsewhere. The crepe finish has a little wear at the top and edges, nothing serious. The scrap angel is perfect with no tears or damage. There's a tiny hole at the top of the canoe for hanging.

This 1950s Japan hand painted wooden Christmas expansion ornament decoration features a decorated Christmas tree two wood candles in holders, and seven cute little angels, each holding a different item. The base is made of criss-crossed flat wood lattice stripes which expand from 3-1/2 inches when closed to 8 inches long when fully extended. The display is about 3-1/4 high to the tips of the candle flames. The base is purposely decorated with spots, either to make it look old or to simulate pavement or ground covering. A couple of the angels have some scratches to the paint as shown. Comes in original box.

2 Flocked Christmas Fawn Deer Figures Mint In Package
These 1960s flocked plastic baby deer or fawn figures were found in a box of Christmas decorations I purchased at auction. They are mint in their still-sealed packages with cardboard headers marked RDL Co. San Diego, Made in Hong Kong. The realistic looking deer or reindeer are 4-1/2 inches high, a little longer than that in the sitting position. They are of course in perfect condition. Price is for the pair.

The cardboard package header says Happy Holidays, Made in Hong Kong. Some of the glitter has shaken off, otherwise perfect condition.
1940s Plastic And Glass Dimensional Window Pane Christmas Ornaments
A pair of scarce and unusual 1940s American made plastic Christmas ornaments with tiny mercury glass ball ornaments hanging in the 4 paneled centers. The transparent bead-textured frames are two pieces that fit together, forming a four-part window pane arrangement, 3-1/4 diameter by about 2-1/4 inches high not including the molded-in hanging hooks. Hooks at the center tops of each pane hold four little half-inch mercury glass balls, or other appropriately sized decorations of your choice. I've seen similar dimensional plastic ornaments in star, snowflake, or circle shapes but I've never seen this shape or type before, not even in my many Christmas ornament books.
This elaborate 1950s painted hard plastic Santa Claus Christmas candy container is unmarked but was made by Rosbro / Rosen. Santa blows a yellow horn while standing in two-wheeled cart being pulled by three white reindeer. Santa's Candy Wagon is written in white script lettering on both sides of the red cart. Overall length is 9-1/2 inches, height is 8-1/2 inches. The reindeer on the left side has a break to his right front leg, shown in the second and third pictures. The only other issue is that the letter T appears to be uncrossed on the left side of the wagon (last photo).
2 Unused Packs German Gold Lametta Christmas Tinsel
Two never used packages of Brilliant Gold Lametta Christmas tinsel, heavy strands that are probably made of lead or a lead-based metal. The length is hard to measure as they're folded over inside the heavy paper wrapper, but I estimate about 20 inches long. The writing at the bottom of the folder is in German, the litho graphics of decorated Christmas tree branches against a red background are very attractive. I'm not sure of the age, possibly 1930s based on the clip-on lit candle in the illustration - I don't think burning candles were used on Christmas trees anywhere after that time period. Other than .25 price marks in ink on the sleeves, they're in excellent condition. Buyer gets both packs.
3 German Mercury Indent Christmas Ornaments Spun Glass Strands Inside
A set of three rare 1930s or earlier German blown mercury glass diorama indent type glass Christmas ornaments with double pikes. Instead of a little scene inside the indent, each ornament has a spidery rosette of fine spun glass strands in the centers. Each has a band of color encircling the web of spun glass, rust-orange or black-green. The ornaments are 2-3/8 inches diameter. The pikes at the center backs are left open, allowing Christmas tree lights to back light and enhance the center decorations. They're very thin and fragile, with the deep center indents almost touching the back walls. There is some finish wear but no breaks or chips, and the delicate thread-like spun glass strands are intact with no damage. The dust you see on the black stripe has been carefully wiped away since the photos were taken.
A really nice mouth blown silvered glass horn or pipe Christmas ornament with an embossed indent at the opening. The gracefully curved pipe is 5 inches high. It's silver and red with blue comma-stroke leaves below the bowl. The indented bowl has an embossed six point star tinted blue and yellow and outlined in red. The metal cap is marked Czechoslovakia. In excellent condition.
Antique Red Swan In Tinsel Cradle German Glass Christmas Ornament
Beautiful late Victorian era (circa 1890s) blown glass swan Christmas ornament in a looped gold tinsel garland cradle. The bird is fairly large, almost 5 inches long by 3 inches high. The red and white original paint is worn as shown, and most of the inner mercury silvering has deteriorated due to age and air exposure. Including the tinsel, the ornament is 5-1/2 inches long.
Victorian Unsilvered Clip On Pink Rosebud Christmas Ornament
Beautiful late 1800s German blown glass Christmas ornament in the form of a flowering rose bud, 2-1/4 inches diameter by just over 3 inches high. It's unsilvered, coated in ground or powdered glass glitter with shaded coloring in pink and white. It's mounted on a tins spring clip, the top and coils of which are rusty, but the clip works properly. There is wear to the glitter finish as shown, otherwise it's in very good condition for being well over 100 years old.
Mercury Glass Rose Flower Feather Tree Christmas Ornaments
Four rare tiny rose or flower shape mercury silvered glass Christmas ornaments from the 1920s or 1930s, just over 3/4 of an inch diameter - feather tree size (I've shown a quarter in the first photo for scale). The pike openings are at the center backs, button style. The ornaments have a transparent overwash orange tinted coloring, which may have been red originally. They're in excellent condition with no breaks or damage. I suspect they were originally attached to wire or chenille stems and were later converted to Christmas ornaments. Attach to your tree branches with wire to better show the flower sides.
Box Shiny Brite Mica Stripes Unsilvered Christmas War Ornaments
This box of 12 unsilvered glass Christmas ornaments contains mostly Shiny Brite brand, produced during the 1940s World War II years. During that time silver nitrate was needed for military use and unavailable to ornament manufacturers, so for three or four Christmas seasons they used painted, flashed, and sprayed-on transparent and opaque colors without silvering. All of the Shiny Brite ornaments are round with colorful transparent horizontal stripes or bands, alternating with stripes of white or yellow colored mica glitter. They are 2 to 2-3/4 inches diameter. There are two smaller ornaments in pink and white mica with flecks of colored glitter - these do not have Shiny Brite caps, marked only Made In U.S.A. Several ornaments have wear to the mica glitter as shown. There are no chips or breaks. The plain manila ornament box has some storage wear, there is no lid.
Dept. 56 Pair Purple Blue Glass Flower Christmas Ornaments
Two dramatically pretty glass flower shape Christmas ornaments, made in Czechoslovakia by Dept. 56. A pair of gorgeous silvered glass Christmas ornaments from Dept. 56, made in Czechoslovakia. They're vaguely flower shaped and trimmed in gold glitter, with magenta petal tops, a tapered pine cone textured purple body flaring to a larger lobed petal bottom in blue. Metal clock face charms are attached to the top, and the embossed gold tone caps are marked Dept 56 Rep. Czech. The ornaments are about 4 inches high and in perfect condition. I have three pairs available, price is for the set of two.
Rose Basket On Puffy Oval 3 Czech Glass Christmas Ornaments
Three older silvered glass Christmas ornaments from Czechoslovakia with colorful embossed baskets of roses on the fronts. The 3 inch high ornaments are a puffed oval, pillow type shape with beading around the sides. The backs are decorated with a single embossed 6-petal flower. Two of the ornaments have a little cloudiness at the bottoms from age degradation of the inner silvering, otherwise they're in excellent condition. Excuse the terrible pictures.
Small 1930s Germany Red Santa Claus Glass Christmas Ornament
This circa 1930 small silvered glass Santa Claus ornament was made in Germany. It's feather tree size, only a bit over 2 inches high. Santa is painted all bright red except for his white eyes and the chartreuse green pine Christmas tree he holds in his arms. The ornament is in very good condition with little wear, no chips or breaks. Uncommon in this miniature size.
This 3-1/4 inch high silvered glass Santa ornament was probably made in Western Germany in the early to mid 1950s. Santa wears a dark red coat and holds a green pine tree in his arms. The fur trim at his hat and cuffs has remnants of worn white mica glitter. The back has a few minor scratches to the paint but the front looks fine.
1920s Feather Tree Wine Casket Barrel Glass Christmas Ornament
An unusual 1920s or earlier miniature glass Christmas ornament, the perfect size for an antique feather tree at 1-1/2 inches wide. It's in the form of a wine casket or barrel with very detailed staves and bands, a cluster of grapes and leaves in the front center (or possibly flowers) and a knot hole or plug in the center back. The color is a light chartreuse yellow-green. There are a couple of small dark spots on the back where the inner mercury silvering has degraded, and a shallow chip at the pike visible under the metal cap which is marked Germany (the cap fits securely).
Pink Shiny Brite Unsilvered War Era Double Stencil Christmas Ornament
A scarce and special 2-1/4 inch Shiny Brite 1940s Christmas ornament produced during World War II when ornament decorators and manufacturers could not obtain silvering agents due to military restrictions. It's painted transparent bright pink and was never silvered. What makes it unusual it the attractive double stenciled designs: distinctively different snowy village scenes on each side. Most war ornaments were decorated with stripes if at all, stenciled or screen printed scenes were much less common, and any Shiny Brite with different scenes on each side is fairly rare. The ornament also has a sprig of tinsel inside and is dusted with a few flakes of colored glitter. The metal cap is marked Shiny Brite Made In U.S.A. The ornament is in excellent condition - I can't find anything wrong with it other than some possible glitter loss. Two identical ornaments are available, price is for each.
Ardalt Porcelain Angel Bell Christmas Ornaments International Greetings
These three adorable little 1950s porcelain ceramic angel bells are Christmas ornaments, made in Japan by Ardalt. They're about 2-1/2 inches high, each holding a banner with Merry Christmas greetings in different languages - Swedish, German, and Polish. At their backs are signs reading In Swedish (or German, Polish) we say Merry Christmas . The angels have ceramic clappers inside and cord hangers. The Polish angel has a couple of scratches to the red paint of her dress, otherwise they're in good condition. I'm including an extra bonus Italian angel. From the front she displays fine but there's a chip to the lower back edge of her dress. It's been sealed with clear nail polish to prevent further damage.
Cotton Batting Santa Claus In Mica Canoe Christmas Ornament
This wonderful antique Christmas ornament features a molded composition or clay face Santa Claus figure riding in a mica glittered cardboard canoe. The Santa figure has a faded red suit made of cotton batting, a white cotton beard, and old cotton pipe cleaner chenille fur trim around his cap.The heavy, stiff cardboard canoe is 4-1/2 inches long, heavily encrusted in thick mica glitter. Crinkled thin gold wire is attached to each end for hanging on the tree. There are no labels or markings - this type of decoration was made in both Germany and Japan between the two World Wars, 1918 to mid 1930s. A similar ornament can be seen on page 148 of Robert Brenner's Christmas Revisited price guide book, but it doesn't state the country of origin. The canoe is in very good condition with no damage and very little mica loss. The Santa figure's black paper belt has some wear.
Shepherds Scene Real Goose Egg Diorama Christmas Display Ornament
A 1960s hand crafted egg diorama scene for Christmas display, made from a real goose egg. Inside is a 3-dimensional scene of bone-colored plastic Nativity shepherds and animals, a little angel in the sky above them, the ground coated in sand glitter. The opening is elaborately decorated with rows of faux pearl beads, gold eyelash braids, and a brass flower with pearl center at the top. The egg is about 4-1/4 high and in excellent condition aside from some mild staining to the back side of the shell.
This 1960s Christmas diorama style display ornament is made from a real goose egg. Inside the center is a plastic angel framed in downy soft cotton and gold glitter. The egg is mounted on a decorative base for tabletop display and is about 4-1/4 inches high to the gold gilt and faux pearl flower decoration at the top. The opening is decorated with gold braid and rows of tiny faux pearl beads. The back of the egg shell has some very mild staining as shown, otherwise excellent condition.
Someone took the clappers and hanging cords out of these six 1950s Japan porcelain ceramic singing choir boy Christmas ornaments, but I've added replacement metallic cord hangers since the pictures were taken. They can stand as they are like figurines or be hung from your tree. The adorable little choir boys are about 2-3/8 inches tall, each with a different hair color and his own special hand painted expression. There are a few tiny nicks or flakes to the red paint at the bottom, otherwise they're in excellent vintage condition.
This silvered glass angel on a cloud Christmas ornament has decal blue eyes and Dresden scrap style gold embossed paper wings. Her long curly hair is bright gold and her lips are painted red. Her arms are folded with one hand raised to her cheek. The ornament is 4-1/4 high and has an unmarked metal cap - it was probably made in 1980s West Germany or Czechoslovakia. The wings have a small piece of clear tape at the center back to keep them from flopping. Her nose and mouth look a little odd in the photo, but this is just due to shadows and reflections, they actually look quite normal and attractive.
2 German Ribbed Ball Spike Finial Glass Christmas Ornaments
A pair of unusual silvered glass Christmas ornaments from Germany, 1920s to 1930s. The tops are round with 8 paneled rib sections, each with horizontal ribbing and pink, yellow, and blue painted stripes between the panels or lobes. At the bottoms are long spike finials, one yellow, one dark pink. The ornaments are 3-3/4 to 4 inches high and in good condition, one has a pike chip visible just below the metal cap (the cap does fit securely).
4 West Germany Pastels Indent Glass Christmas Ornaments
Four large indented glass Christmas ornaments from Mid Century West Germany, all in pastel colors and nicely decorated. The largest is a 5 inch mint green round single indent with a spike finial at the bottom. The embossed star indent is tinted red, blue, and yellow and the opening is framed in a flower-petal scallop design of white mica glitter. White mica stars are scattered across the back. The gold teardrop ornament with white shooting stars decoration has large thumbprint flat indents on both sides. A snowy village church scene appears in the centers (both sides), done in Venetian dew type glitter, made of tiny beads of clear glass. The ornament is 4-3/4 high. The 4-3/4 green teardrop is also a double indent with 7 little stars formed in a flower shape, tinted pink, blue, and yellow. One side of the ornament has faded color and is nearly transparent from degradation of the inner silvering. The pink teardrop has a ribbed center indent tinted pink and white mica shooting star decoration. There once were white mica polka dots around the sides and back but the glitter has worn off, leaving small dots of silvering showing through the pink finish. All four ornaments are in very good vintage condition with no chips or breaks, with finish and silvering wear to the two as discussed above.
1930s German Mercury Glass Pinwheel Headlight Indent Christmas Ornament
This dramatic 1930s Germany mercury glass Christmas ornament has a blown glass pinwheel striped bulb in the center of the deeply recessed indent. The inside is highly silvered to reflect the painted red, yellow, and white glitter swirl stripes on the inner bulb in a kaleidoscope effect. The exterior outer rim is decorated with a wide band of white mica and clear glitter. I've seen this type of ornament described as headlight style. It has a pike at the back center and a clip-on wire hanger rather than the usual metal cap or hook. The ornament is 3-1/4 inches diameter and in wonderful condition with no damage, wear, or silvering loss - amazing considering the very thin glass and highly fragile construction. Best of all, it retains its original paper label printed Germany.
3 Hard Plastic Santa Claus Candy Container Christmas Ornaments
These 3 hard plastic Santa Claus Christmas ornaments double as candy containers - the toy sacks at the backs are open to hold candy canes or lollipops. There are little bits of paper stuck to the bottoms of his feet as if he were once glued to something. The cute Santa is in good condition with no damage.
These 1970s fabric angels can stand by themselves or hang from their cords on the Christmas tree. They're about 5-1/2 inches high with cone dresses covered in pink moiré and velour gowns trimmed with gold braids and maroon velvet ribbon. Their hair is light pinkish colored fine yarn or string, their heads are painted fabric. The gold braid trim is beginning separating from the fabric in a couple of small areas, otherwise they're in very good vintage condition.

One depicts a group of four angels in a poinsettia and holly trimmed harp frame, the other is a religious scene of Mary and Joseph with baby Jesus. 2 Antique Liquid Filled German Blown Glass Christmas Ornaments
A pair of rare almost paper thin double piked German mercury glass Christmas ornaments with liquid-filled blown glass bulbs in the deeply indented centers. This type of ornament was so fragile that few of them survived more than a few Christmas seasons, and most of those remaining lost their liquid long ago. Both of these however are still filled with the original oil or water (I'm not sure of the composition) in the center bulbs. The round ornament is about 2 inches diameter. The center liquid-filled glass bulb is painted with alternating white and pink stripes which create a kaleidoscopic effect when reflected off the back wall of the indent. The other ornament is a bit larger with a fancy scalloped rim and back. The center bulb has pink, white, and green stripes. There is some spotting and dust in the recessed centers. The inner mercury silvering has turned pearly white with age except at the backs. There are no chips or breaks.

The ornament is 3 inches long and in excellent condition, shiny with no silvering loss or damage. The metal cap is marked West Germany.
