Lace Valentine Vintage, from the 1920s Made by Whitney, Worchester, Mass. Edges are cut out. Front has embossed paper lace, with two small stamps on top, over a picture of a boy with a bouquet of flowers. Behind the boy is a picture of a house. Inside is a verse: To My Valentine - This lacy valentine is sent with friendly wish and good intent And greetings warm and kind, And if some loving thoughts should hide Beneath the lace or way inside, I hope you will not mind. On the back is the Whitney Made mark. A teacher's name is written in a childish hand. It would have been sent sometime before 1928. A small piece of the lace is missing, and there are a couple of creases on the outer points. Otherwise very good. Shipped First Class, under 4 oz.

Here's a little guy who looks like he knows how to lay bricks! And the phrase below him on the 1920s valentine says 'I'll Build a House for Two.' The card is unsigned and has no indication of manufacturer. It measures about 3 by 3.5 inches and is in Very Good condition. Another cute one! (4658)

With the beauty of a gilt border and accents on various parts of the scene, here's Cupid, holding arrows above his head as he looks at a pretty white dove sitting on a heart. It's a gorgeous card and was printed in Saxony, although no other manufacturer information is included. It has an address and stamp with a 1910 postmark. There is some cracking of the shiny surface on the face, but the card is overall in Very Good condition. (4656)

This pendant with an amethyst heart hangs from a 5-1/2mm pearl in a gold setting. The amethyst is a truly beautiful color, cut well so the light is reflected in many ways. the 19 chain is unique with a tubular clasp. The amethyst heart is 16mm high by 15mm wide (This is about 6 carats). This is an estate item, and was probably acquired in the 1960s. However, chain may be older judging from the clasp and style of chain.

Two small cherubs provide the music above a bevy of red hearts and the picture of a young woman with bright red hat and white fur neck piece. The postcard has a message on the front, as well as address and canceled one-cent stamp on the nondivided reverse. The postmark is 1908. It's in very good condition with a small crease on one corner and some rounding of the other corners. (t2131)

Here's a great old-timer! Made in USA, this diecut Valentine shows a cute little girl with big hat and holding a heart with a puppy hiding below. The brass fastener at top of her hat gives away the fact this is a card with movable features -- in this case her eyes which role up-and-down. The card measures about four inches by 6.75 inches and was probably from the early 1900s. It's again very good condition with no defects we see beyond a tiny crease on bottom left corner. (T2140)
