A Time Remembered

Circa: 1941
Condition: Used
Manufacturer: Homer Laughlin China/Household Institute/Made in USA
This lovely oval chop plate is marked: Household Institute / Priscilla Pattern.
The Household Institute line is made up of the Nautilus, Republic, Ovenserve and Kitchen Kraft shapes. The Household Institute line was the result of a 1941 agreement between the Homer Laughlin China Company and the Club Aluminum Company. The line was purchased specifically for Club AluminumĀ“s continuity plans in their food stores divisions and was produced for several years.
Stretching for more than a mile along Hancock County's Ohio River at Newell is the Homer Laughlin China Company, one of the world's largest manufacturer of dinnerware. Two brothers, Homer and Shakespeare Laughlin broke ground on October 1, and opened their factory on September 1, 1874. The special achievement of Homer Laughlin China Company has been its ability for over a century to mass-produce wares not only inexpensive enough for almost every family in the nation, but often with outstanding artistic value as well.
The plate features a cream body with multifloral sprays in colors that include brown, tan, green, yellow, red, pink, lavender and blue with gold trim all around the rim.
In very good + condition, without chips, cracks or fleabites it does have crazing throughout which I have shown in my pictures and it measures 10 3/4 inches by 11 1/2 inches.
An addition to any Homer Laughlin China Collection.
SH & Ins. will be quoted after orders placed. If you have questions please feel free to contact me and thank you for looking.
