Gold Silhouette Locket, Art Nouveau Profile Portrait of a Woman with a Floral Sun Hat & Flowing hair. Etched Lettering of EEG is scrolled on the reverse / backside of the locket. Lovely piece in fine condition, light scratching due to normal use and age of this item. Hallmarked
Unusual color combo on this Art Nouveau sash pin - usually it is purple and green. Lots of nice filigree detail, middle is a diamond shape and all others triangles, even the little ones and all bezel-set. Flat gold finish shows little wear.
In the cast sash pin style but not as big (1 1/2 inches long), this charming amethyst pin is at least 100 years old. The cut glass open-back stone is flawless and shines brightly. Small side stones are purple also but look darker because of setting. Gold wash finish shows some wear as seen in photo. C clasp.
Charming Art Nouveau sash pin has a small tube on one side - was there another on the other side? Possibly - there is a little dot of darkened silver. Not a distraction to beauty but considered in price. Measures 2 1/3 x 1 3/4 with C clasp. Antique silver is great in front though shows wear on the back.
VERY faintly shows Bates and Bacon stamped on the inside, this gorgeous locket 2 1/2 inches by 1 inch and has a beautifully worked front. Heavily good filled. Only signs of wear are a few pin point dents on the back and finger wear on the inside. 24 inch chain is not original but appropriate in style and finish with a spring clasp. But, yes, it is big enough to slide over your head.
What a stunning pin! Art Nouveau is richly represented here with leaves and vines but the best is the big center stone, topaz faceted glass wrapped into the antique metal. Measure 2 1/2 x 1 3/4 with C clasp.
This is a really dignified old sash pin in buckle style with hasp. Gold finish is in excellent condition as are the 3 blue cabochon stones. 2 1/2 by almost 2 inches. Folded corners are Providence - Attleboro style.
This old sash pin makes me chuckle - a very strange marriage of sweet flowers with flower- eating monsters. Maybe they are worms! 3 inches by 2 with very nicely handpainted and raised flowers on gold-washed filigree. My theory is that this was an early craft project and the 2 pieces were sold as a kit. C clasp, some wear on gold-wash, one chip on white center flower. Considered in pricing.
Only 1 inch long but this would be cute on a collar. The oval cabochon amethyst is probably glass but lovely and flawless. The C clasp has a letter or two stamped on it but I can't read it - maybe TE? Excellent antique condition.
I have never see such a long piece of faceted glass in a pin - and no dings. This one is almost 2 inches and perched in a lovely goldfilled Art Nouveau setting of 3 3/4. Overall very good antique condition with C clasp.
From the very early 20th century, this cast brass Art Nouveau sash pin is set with a large (a bit over 3/4 inch) cut glass stone of topaz color. It has the hammered finish often used by the great artisians in the Attleboro, Mass. area. Measure 2 5/8 x 1 1/2 inches.
This is a very nicely done sash pin from the very early 20th century. It is cast brass with an etched top and a very big (1 inch long)emerald cut amethyst glass stone - in perfect condition as are the 4 small bezel set stone around it. 2 1/4 inches x 1 3/4 with a sturdy C clasp. Excellent antique condition.
This is a small sash pin, 1 1/2 x 1 inch) but the dragon is plenty fierce with a fiery tail. The smaller snake-like creature is definetely going to lose the fight over the large red jewel. C clasp is stamped with a cross or + sign that I don't know.
The deep pink rhinestoned of this pin are prongset in the center of brass petals. Art Nouveau leaves and flowers extend out to the ends of the 4 inch pin. Center is 1 inch across. This would be striking worn vertically on a lapel or collar. C Clasp, excellent antique condition.
This little pin (1 3/4 x 5/8) is dainty, cute and in excellent condition. The amethyst glass stone is a smooth cabochon on top and faceted on the back so it shines through with sparkles. Fine goldfilled with C clasp.
I love the blue bead dangling in the middle of this silver pendant. I think the wire is hand twisted since the loops are not perfect. Chain w blue beads is 27 inches long and needs no clasp. Pendant is 2 inches long. Beads are most likely Bohemian.
This little Art Nouveau pin manages to pack 5 blue stones on to a small piece and the square and oval stone (6 prongs) are openbacked. Graceful dangle is asymetrical in the Nouveau style. Measures 1 5/8 x 1 1/8 with C clasp. Bloomed gold finish with shiny highlights.
This Art Nouveau buckle with purple stone probably started life as a brooch. It measures almost 3 inches by 2and is dripping with beautiful stamped flowers, leaves and swirls in an antique gold finish. The back slide look like a custom job and I think I can just barely see under each side where the pinback was removed.
A beautiful jeweled example of the graceful Art Nouveau period of early 20th century - 1 1/2 inch long pendant is 1 inch wide. The bloomed gold finish shows only a little wear. 5/8 inch cabachon, faceted on back is a topaz stone (glass?) and shows no damage. 6 tiny prongset topaz stones highlight the pendant. The dainty gold finish chain is 18 inches long with spring clasp, and is probably not original.
Maybe this is Bohemia, but I believe it is pre-Czechoslovakia. The blue-purple glass surely is Czech and the brass filigree has the right look. 19 inches plus 2 1/4 pendant and spring clasp. Only the faintes of scratches on large faceted stone.
Here's a large (3 1/4 x 2 inches) of a silver alloy topped with delicate filigree and set with foiled art glass stones - bezelset. Really hard to photograph - light problems. The base has some dark spots wich might polish out and one of the small stones had a tiny chip that my friend Rusty fixed with nailpolish. I can't tell which it was even with a loupe. Nevertheless, condition is considered in pricing.
An Art Nouveau sash pin brings the swamp to life - green stones with lilies and pads and wonderful cattails. It is gold finish cast brass with overlaid cast flowers. Measures 3 x 1 1/2. Jewels are a nice swampy green semi-opaque glass. The center stone has a dimple (from formation?) but it is not a chip and not noticeable without peering closely. Note pinstem repair on back - funny the way it hangs out beyond frame but it is very stable. I think it is one of the Attleboro or Providence Art Nouveau pieces from the very early 20th century.
Pardon my gushing, but this pin is adorable! It has all the usual filigree but over it strawberries grow, leaves and all. The strawberry pink center seems appropriate to and has no dings. Gold finish, C clasp, 2 3/4 x 1 3/4 inches.
The 1 1/4 inch pink stone w black veins look like a rock, not glass but I am not sure what kind - rhodonite? That is described as mottled pink with black patterns. Or maybe just a nice art glass trying to looking like rhodonite. 3 inches by 2 1/4 with flowers, swags, gold finish and rolled edges. Very good condition. C clasp.
Charming sash pin from the Art Nouveau period with flowers flowing around a cluster of white prongset grapes - Chardonnay? Novel net background. Measures 2 3/4 x 2 inches and has lovely antique silver finish which glows in front so excellent condition though silver shows a little wear in back. C clasp. Beautiful example of sash pin.
This beautiful cut blue stone (glass since I can see one tiny bubble against the light) is 1 inch by 1/2 and set in a very attractive goldfilled seting. A small circle with 2 knobs and hashmarks in the middle is a signature I can't identify. C clasp, excellent condition.
Pretty, pretty blue stone is beautifully set and openbacked, adorned with layers of feathery leaves and flowers. 3 inches by 2 1/4 with a C clasp. Gold finish is probably goldfill and in excellent condition as is the stone. Cast metal, not stamped. I guess it is the work of Providence craftsman of the early 1900's.
Lovely 2 1/2 inch by 2 inch Art Nouveau sash pin has bezeled round cut glass purple or amethyst stone with no scratches or chips - I thought it had a very shallow scratch until I brushed a cat hair off! Perhaps a touch of Arts & Crafts, also. Goldplate over brass(?) is in excellent condition. C clasp, no marks.
Very nice sash pin with classy lattice work measures 2 1/2 x 2 1/8 with a C clasp. Purple stone looks more black because the back is closed but it does catch light from the sides on its facets and has no dings. Brass leans up nicely - very good condition.
Art Nouveau pin here has a touch of Arts and Craft around the edges and an openback amethyst cabochon in perfect condition. The gold finish brooch measures 2 1/2 by almost 2 inches. C clasp, excellent condition.
This dime size pair of sweet Nouveau pins each have the same raised lady's head. They appear to be sterling but too old to requiring marking. Probably served as buttons. View of back shows pin made all of one piece of looped wire, including C clasp. Excellent condition except for 1 small bulge in front of lady where pin back is attached. $39 price is for both.
The goldfill on this pin is thick, pretty and unworn and the overlay of filigree in a contrasting shade is the perfect frosting. 2 1/2 x 1 3/4 with C clasp. One inch amethyst faceted stone is ding-free. Pin really shows no wear.
Very substantial Art Nouveau sash pin has lavish feathery swirls. Buckle style and probably was exactly that as the C clasp and pin stem look like they were added on and there are stumps where the back of the buckle were removed - but everything on the back is neat and smooth as pictured. 3 x 1 3/4 inches, excellent condition.
Maybe not garnets but certainly garnet color, these 2 bezelset stones highlight a frilly Art Nouveau pin. 2 x 1 1/2 inch pin has lots of openwork, leaves and flowers - all dainty. Each side has a little pin that might have had a jewel - maybe pearl? but if there were pearls, their absence does not detract. Goldfilled, excellent condition, C clasp.
I see elements of Arts and Crafts in this pin from the Art Nouveau period - but they did overlap. 4 inches long, it is bloomed and shiny goldfill with a 1/2 inch openback bezelset topaz stone. C clasp, excellent condition. Classy.
Silver or white metal (German silver?) is used for this unusual old sash pin - call it Art Nouveau style - or maybe Arts & Crafts. 2 1/2 x 1 3/4 inches, it has brownish copper setting like I have never see - I think it is plastic! I find fine asymetrical work in the center quite charming. C clasp, very good condition.
Beautiful yellow glass looks like half marbles and is that marbled yellow Czech color. The 4 ornate brass links are cast metal and have a Nouveau touch. Measures 15 1/2 inches, just right for a jewel neck. Spring clasp, excellent condition. Czech? Bohemian glass.
Green gold leaves provide a contrast to the gilt finish on the Art Nouveau sash pin. the oval setting measures 3 x 1 1/2 inches and flawless cut topaz glass stone is openbacked. C clasp, excellent condition.
It's small but really cute, this Art Nouveau pin which measures 1 1/8 x 1 inch. The openback cut amethyst glass oval has no chips or scratches and shows beautifully. Gold finish - fill, plate? - shows no wear and C clasp works fine.
Very eye-catching, this 3 x 1 1/2 inch Art Nouveau pin with 3 openback amethysts tucked into the twining leaves - or are they blossoms? They might be real since they are more pale than the unusual glass. Gold finish shines up nicely for an antique look. C clasp, no damage to stones.
This pretty filigree sash pin measures 3 inches by 2 and has a bloomed gold finish that polishs to bright on the highpoints. The unusually shaped red stone in bezel is slightly crooked - a sign that it was applied by hand. Back has a little solder in one spot but it doesn't show and it doesn't look like a repair. C clasp. Price considers the little flaws.
I suspect this was a kit, ordered over 100 years ago from a catalog for the budding beader. The pale purple beads are beautifully worked to form the pouch of a coin purse and then the fancy silver Art Nouveau top is stitched in. 3 inches diameter, lid, 2 inches and latch works very well. A little wear shows on top but still very good condition.
Here's a pretty little (well, not so little) sash pin that measures 2 3/4 x 1 1/2 inches with an open center. The 2 amethyst stones are openback and sparkly. Goldfinish shows a little wear but it shines up nicely. C clasp.
Quite the pin for a Victorian lady in a heavy coat or jacket or maybe in the hair. The wonderful pattern of silver suggests Art Nouveau and measures 3 inches by 1 across top. Bowed 3/4 inch out and set with a real amethyst (I think - it shows flaws unlike glass). Tube hinge, C clasp and pin is so long it bends up a bit at end to fit in clasp - makes it very secure. It has a strange knob on the back - to hold it secure? Beats me - see picture. Excellent condition. Old enough to have no marks.
This dear litle Art Nouveau pin is goldfilled and the leaves appear to be green gold. It's 1 3/4 inches long and has a lovely deep rosy oval openback stone set in an angled bezel. C clasp is stamped C & G which may have been Cutler & Granberry, Attleboro, Massachusetts at end of 19th century. Very good condition after 100 + years!
This beautiful Art Nouveau sash pin measures 3 x 2 inches but still looks dainty. Goldfilled and sturdy, it has an oval amethyst cut glass stone entwined with a flower in the open center. C clasp, excellent condition.
Beautiful Art Nouveau hair comb is decorated with gold flowers and vines - or are they snakes? - with pearls and a oval pink stone for accent. Curved comb of sturdy tortoise (plastic, I assume) measures 5 inches and teeth are almost 2 inches. Excellent condition except that the flatbacked cut pink stone has noticeable spots on back foil. Pricing considers this flaw.
This art glass stone must be some kind of creation - maybe Italian - where bits of glass are mixed into the red background - but it looks like there is a little paint wiped on too. There is a hollowed out top too but not a chip since the colors run over into it. Pin is 2 inches square and has a C clasp. Antique gold finish of a web texture is in excellent condition.
Lovely antique sash pin of heavy stamped metal measures 2 3/8 x 1 7/8 and with antique gold finish. Prongset openback amethyst cut glass stone measures 1 inch by 3/4 and has no scratches or chips. C clasp, excellent condition.
The mottled coral colored oval glass stone on this large sash pin is quite an unusual color - no grapes like it as far as I know. But the gilded grape cluster, vines and leaves look pretty real, very graceful. Pin measures 3 1/4 x 2 inches and stone is 3/4 inch. C clasp, Very good condition.
2 inches diameter - This is a circle that curves upward. Marked GLP and symbol that looks like a snail. Solid cast metal, probably brass with guilding that is in excellent condition. C clasp. A classic. See view of the back for markings.
Marked sterling, this old buckle pin with enameled forget-me-nots has Art Nouveau flourishes too. At first, I thought it really was a buckle, converted to a pin because of the silver pieces bent under in back. But no - they are there to brace the cross piece that holds the buckle point. Back looks old (see 2nd image enlarged), has a tube hinge and the pin point extends beyond frame. It's cast too, not stamped and measures 2 1/4 x 1 1/4. Enamel has been touched up so looks perfect and thus rates as very good condition. It is darling!
Only 1 1/4 x 3/4, this sweet little Art Nouveau pin would look great at the neck of a silk blouse. It's early 20th century with C clasp and a subtle touch of rose and green gold on the leaves. gold filling shows no wear and prongset topaz stone is like new.
Look at the size and sparkle of this amethyst cut glass and bezelset stone - it measures 5/8 inches in diameter and has no chips or scratches. The goldfilled Art Nouveau setting is 1 3/4 x 1 1/8 and has beautiful openwork. Note the pin point sticking out beyoud oval showing that it is old. C clasp says old too. Excellent condition.
Another Art Noveau sash pin - this one with an oval purple cut glass stone in a bezeled setting. Gilded finish polishes nicely. Pin measures 2 3/4 x 1 3/4 with a 7/8 inch stone. It has a tiny chip on right top edge but it fits right in with the facets - not noticeable. Stone is not set entirely straight either - proves that it is handmade. Price considers these boo-boos.
Beautiful, Beautiful. Art Nouveau sash pin with red bezel set and faceted stones is quite unusual in both shape and color. Measures 2 5/8 x 2 1/8 with open center and stones are 3/8 inch long. Finish is a flat or antique one but gold shines up on corner decorative leaves. C clasp, excellent condition. Stones are intact.
Beautiful! This brooch from the Art Nouveau period has a large cabochon amethyst glass stone in a bezel setting which I have had polished to remove any scratches. Now it really shines. Stone measures 1 1/4 x 3/4. Add the lovely gold-filled filigree work around the stone and you have measurements of 2 and 1 1/2. C clasp, Excellent condition.
This is the nicest Art Nouveau pin to have come my way in a very long time - and it is in very good condition! It is long - about 4 1/4 inches and narrow - a little over 1/2 inches, perfect for angling across a blazer lapel, wide collar or cowlneck. Leaves curl and twist from each end toward the rectangular bezelset amethyst cut glass stone which has a partially open back to permit maximum light to stone. Gold finish polished to a nice sheen. C clasp.
This beautiful oval brooch with purple bezel set stone looks like it was just cast in an Art Nouveau studio - it is flawless! The heavy gold fill appears shiny and like new and the amethyst glass stone is unblemished. Measuring 3 1/4 x 2 1/8 inches, this pin is an impressive sight - would look great on a blazer. C clasp.
This is a mini version of a sash pin and would look very nice at the neck of a blouse. 1 1/2 x 1 inch, it has the simulated buckle prong on one side and a dainty 1/2 inch oval bezel set topaz stone on the other side. Finish appears to be gold wash and shows very little wear: thus, very good condition. Doesn't look like it was worn much. C clasp contains the small letter g, followed by L P.
Nice old cast metal and gold-filled watch pin with twining and knotting vines. Notice the not-so-fierce animal at the base of pin - I believe it is a tiger but without my glasses, I think it looks a bit like Elsie the Borden Cow! C clasp looks like it may have been resoldered but doesn't show on front. Sturdy hook for watch, very good condition, measures 1 3/8 x 7/8.
Another brooch from the Art Nouveau period. Large sash pin of cast brass has a rough textured surface and open center. Leaves, vines and flowers twine across the opening and 2 very large tear-shaped cabachons of amethyst glass are bezel set. Measures 3 1/2 x 2 1/8, with 1 1/4 inch stones, gold-filled with C clasp. Purple stones have been polished to remove any scratches so condition is very good.
Large Art Nouveau brooch with nicely cut oval amethyst glass stone in center is gold-filled and has a cast metal oval frame around center stone which is textured and more rosy colored. Heavy decorative prongs hold the oval in center of heavy stamped brass frills. Pin measures about 3 1/4 inches by 2 inches, has a C clasp and is in very good condition.
Grapes again on this square Art Nouveau pin, but for a Pinot Blanc this time. Actually, these white grapes probably had a pearl coating at one time - what kind of wine would THAT make? A small cabachon of purple does not look grape-like but does add some color. Leaves, vines and grapes grow over an etched 1 1/2 inch square frame which has a rosy coppery tone - gold wash still shows on back but is worn off on front. Clasp has a head rather like a safety pin and is set corner to corner so square is half turned when worn. Not your everyday brooch.
Here is a substantial brooch with some Art Nouveau feathers, a hammered and goldwashed cast brass background and a cut cobalt stone in the center. Measures 1 1/2 x 1 3/4 inches, has a C clasp and is in very good condition.
Pretty Art Nouveau pin or brooch of flowing diamond shape with an amethyst glass oval in bezel setting. Brass setting measures 2 1/2 x 1 inch and has a C clasp. Amethyst stone is cut and open in back and has only the tiniest scratches, seen with a loupe.
Slim and very feminine, slightly curved outward, this bar pin has yellow gold plating or fill, and is decorated with rose gold flowers and green gold leaves. The center elongated oval looks like it could hold a monogram but in that narrow space, it would be even harder than usual to read the fancy script often used. Flange hinge, tube clasp has initials GCH which I am unable to identify. 3 inches in length.
Art Nouveau pendant has black glass surrounded by green, white and purple stones - Suffragette colors. I'm not sure if this is a genuine old piece or a genuine old reproduction from the 30's, but I know it is quite unusual and very showy. The 18 inch chain is a style I cannot find even in a supply catalog and that, plus the large spring clasp with no trigger makes me think it is old. The pendant measures 2 x 2 1/2 inches and the round bezel-set black glass is nearly an inch in diameter. The two purple stones and single pink and green stones are bezel-set also. Necklace has a flat finished antique gold tone and is in excellent condition.
