Hand crafted Necklace of Agate Beads combined with a mixture of vintage glass, brass and horn beads. This is an original design that takes on an exotic tribal appearance. It has a unique design leading up to the brass closure. The agates, that are known as Fire Agates are natural and have a coloration that varies from amber , brown, clear and has black veins or inclusions that create an interesting pattern . The dangle sections are a little stiff but should loosen up in time. Heavy Nylon beading cord was used and knotted tightly to insure secure beading. Very detailed late 19th century lava cameo bracelet - lava cameos were made from the lava of volcanic eruptions (Vesuvius, Etna) in the Italian region. They were popular tourist souvenirs in Victorian times, and are now very collectable. This one has 12 small medallions, each with a detailed classical Roma head. Lava colours vary from white to almost black through brick red and fawn. Fitted with a safety chain. Lower grade silver mounts. Total length of bracelet is 180 mm (7 inches). The cameos are each 12.5 mm by 10 mm (1/2 inch by 3/8 inch). Very good condition.
