This hard to find McCoy Pottery Grandfather clock cookie jar stands a whopping 30 inches tall to the top of the lid, measures 5 1/2 inches wide, and is 5 1/4 inches from front to back. Done in traditional brown shading made to look like brush strokes. Features a clock face and pendulum on front. Lid sits loosely atop the jar, and is not perfectly even, as you will find with many vintage jars. There are no cracks or damage issues, however, we do want to mention that the previous owner had filled in some flakes/chips with a brown putty or resin material, which can be found mostly in the corner areas on the lid. This blends well with the coloring of the jar, so these areas are not apparent and not readily noticeable. Crazing is present on the body of the jar, but not overly noticeable. This is a heavy jar, which has a weight before packaging between 5 and 6 pounds.

Vintage Hardwood Rolling Pin Turned Handles 1940's
We purchased this hardwood rolling pin from an elderly lady who told us that it belonged to her mother. Even as a young child, she remembers Mom often using this wooden pin. So, we would date this kitchen tool as being from the 1940's or even earlier. The hardwood barrel has a tight split line across its surface, and we mention this up front, if this is not for you. The barrel measures 10 inches long and has a diameter of approximately 2 3/8 inches. From handle edge to edge, the rolling pin measures 18 3/4 inches long. The handles were machine turned, with a rounded outside edge. There is a separate collar that protects the barrel ends from debris. The handles are fastened to the inner shaft by a round head metal fastener. In addition to the split line that was previously mentioned, there are some nicks on the barrel, and minor dings and finish wear on the handles that we do note for accuracy. For over sixty years of age, it is still in very good condition. The rolling pin has a screw eye in place at the end of one handle. Its wonderful multi-grained patina would make a marvelous display piece in a country or farmhouse kitchen.
