1950s Thermal Melmac Straw Weave Raffia Burlap Mugs Set Of 8
These eight retro Mid Century thermal mugs have woven straw grass or raffia sandwiched between layers of colored Melmac or Melamine on the inside and clear Lucite type plastic on the outside. Sometimes these mugs are called Burlap mugs and some were made with colored burlap. The layered thermal construction keeps hot drinks hot and cold drinks cold. They're great in the summer because they don't sweat or gather condensation on the outside. The mugs hold 10 ounces and have a retro flared rim shape. They're 3-3/4 high by the same diameter at the rims. The mostly pastel colors are green, light blue, yellow, beige, pink, peach or light coral, and mocha brown. They're all in perfect condition with no chips, cracks, or stains. Price is for the set of eight. I took the photos in terrible lighting, the colors are much brighter and nicer in person.
This Mid Century casserole cradle or holder expands to fit loaf pans, casseroles, and baking dishes from 6-1/2 to about 11 inches wide or diameter. It works with round, oval, square, and oblong dishes. I grabbed a glass loaf pan from my own cupboard for the second photo, it's just one of many shapes and sizes the cradle will accommodate. The copper bands forming the frame have a hammered texture, the two handles are cherry stained wood. The copper has just a bit of tarnish on the upper curled bands and could use a cleaning or polish, otherwise it's in very good vintage condition.

The box has a crown over the initials DBL logo but no manufacturer name. The tile is in perfect condition, apparently never used.
