A colorful oriental man called the Professor, seated on a library chair or ladder in front of a bookcase with more books on the floor near him. This is a quite rare mold and the polychrome finish enhances the detail. Marion Bronze is very collectable and sought after. I believe these would be from the late '30's - early '40's era. No damage that I can find. Old felt on the bottom.

    Oriental Salt/basalt Figurines
This is a lovely pair of Oriental figurines. I believe the composition is of salt or sometimes called white basalt. It's the type of material, that if you put them in the dishwasher, they dissolve and go down the drain. These can also be used as bookends, perhaps intended that way. Standing 5.5 in. tall and the base is 4 in. long and 3.5-4 in. wide. In very good condition with painted faces and silver look trim on their hats, shoes, and edge of the books they hold. The girls hat does have a couple minor dents, chips?, in the edge of the brim, very smooth, no sharp edges. I believe this type of figurine was very popular in the 30's-50's. Priced for the pair.
