1887 Queen Victoria Golden Jubilee Portrait Tile By Minton.
A good Minton tile / teapot stand on 4 feet with excellent portrait of Queen Victoria. A small 3/4 crack under one corner and a little wear under the feet. Both not visible from the front. (See pictures). Otherwise in really excellent condition.
A nice 2 handle bowl by the Staffordshire firm of William Lowe 1874-1930. 2 banners read Empress of India and Queen of an empire on which the sun never sets . Flags and flowers of the realm. Some loss of the dark blue color on the flags with age. The usual light wear and light crazing. A little discoloring on the back only. A very rare and unusual pair King George V and Queen Mary LITHOPHANES (Hold base to the light to view portraits). On the front of each is a portrait of Gen-Field Marshall Von Hindenburg above an Iron Cross dated 1914 surrounded by guns, cannons and the German flag. He appears to be wearing his Pour Le Merite (Blue Max) which was awarded to him in Sept 1914. What possible event could have warranted issuing cups with George V and Queen Mary lithophanes in the bases and Von Hindenburg on the front? If you have any information please let us know. Playing Cards Princess Diana And Prince Charles Wedding
This double deck of playing cards was made to commemorate the wedding of Lady Diana Spencer who was later known as Princess Di and Prince Charles of England in July 1981. The card decks are in their original plastic box and were made by Waddington playing cards and bear the Royal Warrant. The cards have been opened and used but are in very good +++ condition. The box is scuffed and received damage to a corner at some time. A great piece of history and royal memorabilia.
An unusual 1817 applied relief mug produced during the reign of King George III. Princess Charlotte was the only child of the Prince of Wales (Later King George IV) and her death during child birth changed the line of succession (Charlotte being second in line the child would have been third). This led to William IV succeeding followed by Victoria. To the left of the handle a woman and a dog at tomb side. On the right a lion and a child. The center shows the Prince of Wales feathers with a crown above and a lion and unicorn below. This interesting mug has a small flake chip restoration now slightly discolored with age on the outer rim otherwise in excellent condition.
