Antique Cast Iron Corn Pone Cornbread Pan. Griswold and Wager Cast Iron was produced from 1865 through the late 1950s, this piece dates to the 1930 to 1950 era. Patented antique combination fluter and flat iron. Incised patent date on side reads: Feb. 28, 1874. No mfg. name that I can find on it. There is a wire lever which opens it to the fluter, and each piece is numbered: 3521. This fluter is iron, and quite hefty. It is in good antique condition. Antique Scale Fish Tail Cast Iron Basket Counter Top
This is an 19th century cast iron beam weight scale, sometimes refered to as a fish tail scale as the shape of the base looks a bit like a fish tail on one side with the two curved legs, under the slide scale. The scale is complete except for the slotted weights that would set on the very end hanging lead cover that you see in the pictures. The scale is graduated and reads 0, 1/2, 1, 1/2, and is slotted at the top for the slide scale to indicate the difference in the weight amount that would normally be shown on the slotted weights that are missing. The scale is in working condition, but without the missing weights, can't be used to weigh as is. It comes with a tin footed, scale basket that sits on top of the cast iron table at the top of the scale. The basket is 4.5 high x 8.6 wide, and is 14 long overall. The footed area is 5.37 diameter. The basket is in very good shape, no rust, painted black. The scale is 6.6 tall, the base is 6 x 4.75 , and the overall width is 13 , without the basket on top. The scale has a little pitting on the top plate diameter, no paint intact, but is not rusty, cracked, or otherwise damaged. With a set of slotted weight, this scale is valued at about $225, plus about $50 for the basket. Since the set of weights is missing the price was adjusted accordingly. A nice clean scale overall!

The keeper is 3.25 x 4.12 and is reversible. There is a trigger activated dead bolt type locking mechanism on the keeper, but no key. The key hole escutcheon seems to be made of lead, and needs painted if you decide to use it, it is original to this set. This set is in good shape, no rust, works fine, could use a repaint, as some of the door paint is on the flange and keeper in a few areas. We have others that are similar to this one, flush mount type, with white handles, but minor differences in castings, all from the same house. We also have original doors these fit on originally. This is a nice clean antique store door handle, often seen on oak exterior doors of prominent retail stores, or offices during the Victorian period. The quality of the casting is amazing, nothing is plain metal, all with various fancy designs, very ornate. We are including the handle (round part with the two curved posts), and (2) backing plates (one of the backing plates has not round handle section, otherwise matches the one that is complete. Both backing plates, and the one handle are clean, no rust, some minor pitting on the one plate that is missing the handle, all are ready to be painted or clear lacquered, (old paint or plating was completely removed). This particular design offer the thumb tab for push release of the door hardware mechanism (not included as we don't have it). The tab is made to be pushed with the thumb with your hand on the round handle section. The handle is offset to one side for clearance. The backing plate is 2.75 wide x 12.2 long, the round holes are 11 on center, and the rectangular thumb tab section is 4.3 on center from the top, will need a 7/8 clearance hole in the door, but the rectangle bar is only about .45 x .2 wide. The handle section can be removed for painting, held on in two places. There is two more mounting holes at 5 on center from the top of the plate, and 1.85 on center. This is a very hard to find hardware set, we hope someone else has the missing handle, or at least one similar. The handle studs that hold the handle to the back plate are 4.4 on center and 3/8 diameter studs. A beautiful casting!

Antique patented iron footstool. c:1800-early 1900's. Incised markings: W.H. Howell, Geneva, Ill., Pat Appl'd For; note the old State abbreviation on it. A decorator's dream item! I put a piece of fabric over the old upholstery which was really worn out and dirty. You can replace this with something more striking, maybe faux leopard! The iron is painted an off-white; and is chipping. You can strip it, or just spray it another color to match your decor. The hardware stores carry fabulous metallic antique colors now which would be great on this stool. It is very solid, easy to re-upholster, and will last another 100 years. It is 15 long x 9.5. The top unscrews from iron base; if you have a staple gun or furniture tacks, just add your fabric or leave as is. Very nice furniture accessory! 3/09dix#2417

Ashtray Cast Iron Hunting Dog Bird Decoration Rare
This is a very nice clean cast iron ashtray with a cast hunting dog carring a game bird in the dog's mouth. The dog appears to be a retreiver, and is located in the bottom of the inside of the astray. The size of the tray is 4.5 x 4.5 , and has a hang hole in one of the four cigarette holder areas. The cast design is quite good, lots of detailed work! There is a few small casting voids, in fact one in the bottom corner goes through, but we believe this to be as cast, or original to this piece, and regard it as a minor casting flaw. There seems to be some sort of a light nickel or similar plating on this piece, not rusty or pitted. The bottom is marked with a 33 and that is the only marking, so we don't know who the maker was, but have not found another one like it. It weighs about 1/2 pound. A rare and collectible art cast ashtray!
Cast Iron Fence Finial Gold Usa Made Star Top Fancy Arm
This is a cast iron fence post finial that I got from an American caster in the 1970s to use as a decorative accent. The gold cold painted cast iron finial measures 4.5 inches high and is 2.75 inches wide and is topped with a star. The finial has fancy arms. The finial is new and was never used. Great among books and shells, etc on a bookcase or for the top of a lawn ornament.
