The coupon ration book was used in the United States during WW II to equitably distribute consumable items. The program was administered by OPA, as illustrated on the offered item. There are still various, unused coupons attached in the book. If you look closely at a couple of the photos, you can see watermarks (or something similar) on the coupon pages. The American eagle and U. S. Government are two that I have observed. There must have been a fear of counterfeiting ration coupons during the program. This booklet has been folded and not all coupons are present, but an overall nice example of the item. Shipping is free, per shipping terms of this store.
The galvanized, riveted and soldered steel dipper is stamped with: U.S,Q.M.C. A.C. & F. Co. JEFF. IND. 55. The quartermaster Corps we know is U.S,Q.M.C. while I believe A.C. & F. Co. stands for the American Car and Foundry Co. A.C. & F. Co. and/or its subsidiaries made material, tanks, etc during WW I and WW II for the USA. The dipper holds 54 ounces of water and is about 14 inches from rim to the hook at the end of the handle. It is unused and still has some solder flux and preservative on its surface. A well-preserved piece of history.

Standard Gi Issue 1943 Army Signed Canteen And Cup
This is the standard M1910 Army water canteen that slips inside a drinking cup and then the whole thing fits inside the canvas carry pouch. The canteen is signed as belonging to Michael Stroman and the canteen is stamped on the bottom with the date 1943. There is also something scribed on the handle of the cup but I cannot make it out. This canteen is definitely some nostalgia from the past and would make a great display item or a movie prop. It is indeed REAL and nothing reproduction about it. The outside canvas covering also is signed by Michael Stroman.

One Of A Kind W.w.ii Scalpel Shrapnel Handle Free Shipping
Featured for your enjoyment is another wonderful item from Minnesota's Attic. This is a one of a kind W.W.II scalpel. The handle is made of a long piece of shrapnel. I do believe the entire scalpel is from this single piece of shrapnel as I can not seem to find where the blade attaches to the handle. There is an Iron Cross made into the blade where it meets the handle. A piece of copper or brass is near the end of the handle. You will never find another like this. My guess is it was trench art made for the company doctor. It is very sharp and will be shipped in a small bow with a cork on the blade. This is to insure no one is accidentally cut while in transit. Measures just a hair over 6 1/2 long. Free Shipping within the United States.
Featured for your enjoyment is another wonderful item from Minnesota's Attic. This is a very rare find for W.W.II collectors. We have a Nazi W.W.II Army Scalpel. This has the Imperial Eagle seated on a Swastika on the tip of the blade. It is marked near the handle Wilh Wagner, Solingen Merscheic. I do know you can still get Solingen scalpels but not with the other two names on the blade. The handle appears to be made of Ebony wood to me. It is in excellent condition and very sharp. It will be shipped in a box with a cork on the blade in insure no one gets accidentally cut in transit. Measures just a hair over 7 long. Free Shipping within the United States.
