Myrtlewood is prized for its beauty and durability and can range in grain colors from a light brown, almost blonde like maple, to deeper browns, typical of mahogany. This pair of made in Oregon candleholders are a marvelous example of that grain variety. Each stands a petite 2 1/2 inches tall, and has a 1 inch opening across the brass ring. As the backside label states, Myrtle wood is Nature's gift to Oregon (and parts of California). Found only in those two continental states, the myrtle tree has a long history dating back to Biblical times. It is durable and not easily chipped or worn down, and a fine choice of wood for candle lighting. Manufactured by the Bayview Corporation of North Bend, Oregon, these myrtlewood candle holders are in very good vintage condition with a few minor dings to the wood and some light scuffing to the wood and the brass ring.

This is a find you may never see again. It's a VERY heavy Ammonite from the Cretaceous Period. It's age ranges from 100 million years to 350 million. It is 4 3/4 x just over 3 1/2 .

This is a wonderful Victor Victrola. It is a table top style. The doors open to reveal storage for the records. A nice vintage collectable.

This wonderful case actually has the key to lock it. Case includes cork screw, can opener, stirrer, drinking cups and 2 shot glasses. On shot glass is actually and souvenir glass from Ben Lomand Motor Hotel. Some of the corners of the case has been rubbed, but otherwise in excellent condition.

This Ridgeway Regulator clock measures 25 1/2 inches tall and 16 inches across at its widest point. The octagon shaped wood molding surrounding the clock face and the lower fretwork adds to the attractiveness of the school-house look. On the backside, there is a metal bracket to hang the clock on the wall. The clock movement has no jewels and was just recently cleaned and oiled by a local clock shop. It keeps very good time, and you will enjoy the Westminster chimes. The number of chime sounds increase from the quarter hour, the half, the 3/4 hour, and then the full play on the hour along with striking the hour. The clock mechanism was manufactured by Franz Hermle, West Germany. The glass dial face cover is hinged so that you can lift it open and wind the three key winds. We have to note that the lower panel covering the bob has been replaced with a plastic cover and a knob to lift the panel. This provides access to the bob to restart the clock if it completely winds down and stops. There is minor scuffing to the wood finish, and some spotting to the brass ring around the dial face, but over-all the Ridgeway clock is in very good vintage condition. This Regulator clock is a fine quality piece of workmanship in the Ridgeway fashion, complemented by the Hermle Westminster chimes and strike. Clock weighs 11 pounds before packaging. This splendid cuckoo clock belonged to my aunt and I believe it was purchased in the mid to late 1940's. As a youngster, I clearly remember listening to the tick tock and cuckoo sounds. There are fine wood details and carvings to the clock. The vintage piece starts with a clock housing cabinet, and then attached to it is a frame of many hand-carved items. The body of the clock, which resembles a bird house, measures 9 1/4 inches tall, 6 inches wide, and has a depth of 3 7/8 inches. Attached to this is a decorative frame, measuring approximately 12 1/2 inches wide. On this decorative frame are carved tree branches, leaves, and a large bird and rabbit. These figures are flat on the backside for mounting, and three dimensional on the carved front. Another carved item, below the rabbit and bird, looks like an old horse collar. An easily removable 15 1/2 inch top piece is secured in place with metal latches and screw eyes. The measurement from the top of this piece to the bottom of the pendulum is approximately 20 inches. We do have some issues to report. The deer antlers have broken off. We have one original and two replacement antlers. None has been re-mounted. The upper assembly with the deer has a section of a branch where you can see it was glued back. Hopefully, this shows in our picture. To the left of the deer head on the mount, below the first two leaves, you can see a glue up to the branch. Most likely, the branch and antlers breaking occurred in one accident. The upper portion was removable and you could then dust around the clock top. That's a guess, but obviously, it was dropped. The clock tick tocks away after setting the weights in place and swinging the pendulum. The bellows cuckoo when I lift by hand. Sometimes it will work and other times, not. The lifting mechanism needs to be looked at. Everything is here belonging to the clock. The clock, metal chain for the two pine cones, locking weights and the pendulum are ready to restore this wonderfully crafted cuckoo clock to proper working order.

This is a wonderful vintage piece. The glass is beautiful and the bowl sits on a weathered wrought iron stand.

A fascinating glimpse into nature's creations. This is a gemstone that has been cut into the shape of an egg. It appears to be an aggregate of some kind. ( I am not a gemologist) so can only describe what I see. In a matrix of swirled marble are small crystals of opal and clear and colored crystals in orange, red and pink. This is a 9 1/2 inch decorative antique plate. Black on white transfer is a Victorian couple with two dogs, probably greyhounds. Floral lattice border. No chips or cracks, just some rim roughness.
