Vintage 8-page booklet, circa late 1960s. Self-guided tour to the Huntington Japanese Garden in California. Photographs and descriptions of pagodas, statues, shrines, flowering plants and trees. This booklet measures about 6 inches by 9.25 inches. No tears or stains. Fine condition.

Antique wooded handle drawknife draw knife. No makers mark, blade is stamped '10'. show use and wear, Some rust on the blade. In as-found condition. 16in long, 5 1/2in tall. see close up pictures. I know nothing about old tools.

Chinese Winnowing Basket, Handmade woven basket. The construction of the basket is of heavy woven plant fibers, The fibers are held with heavy twisted threads (see close up pictures) The sides are shaped with five bunched twigs about ¼ inch round and held in place by woven barks strips attaching them to the basket. The open end of the basket has a thinly cut piece of shaped wood inserted into the side twigs. The most unique feature of this basket is it shape. It gives a good hand hold and also allows the user to rest the basket against their stomach or hip while winnowing. It measure approximately 24 inches tall by 22 inches wide by depth 4 ¾ inches at back corners. Wind winnowing is an agricultural method developed by ancient cultures for separating grain from chaff. It is also used to remove weevils or other pests from stored grain. Threshing, the separation of grain or seeds from the husks and straw, is the step in the chaff-removal process that comes before winnowing. Winnowing the chaff is a common expression among the well read In its simplest form it involves throwing the mixture into the air so that the wind blows away the lighter chaff, while the heavier grains fall back down for recovery. Techniques included using a winnowing fan (a shaped basket shaken to raise the chaff) or using a tool (a winnowing fork or shovel) on a pile of harvested grain.

This unusual cobalt blue glass bottle with metal cap is marked: HAWICK / #2. I have not been able to find anything on the Internet about it and asked a bottle expert who believes it is a Barber Shop hair tonic bottle. I will have to let the buyer decide. This unusually tall cobalt glass bottle is marked: Noxzema / #6. Noxell Corporation was a Maryland-based company that made the famous Noxzema skin cream. Noxzema was invented by Dr. Francis J. Townsend, a doctor who lived in Ocean City, Maryland. The formula was called Townsend R22 and referred to commonly as no-eczema. Townsend prescribed it as a remedy to early resort vacationers burned by the sun. In order to help people outside of the resort town Townsend later gave the formula to Dr. George Bunting who for many years denied the transaction (graduate of Washington College in Maryland). Bunting introduced Dr. Bunting's Sunburn Remedy as the first real alternative to the greasy, tallow-based medicating creams common during the period. For the first three years, Bunting did all the mixing, heating, and pouring of the product himself. During 1920 the first Noxzema Chemical Company factory was opened in a tiny house in Baltimore. The product achieved national popularity by the 1940s through the use of radio and print advertising. During the 1950s, Noxzema diversified into other personal care products such as shaving cream, suntan lotion and cold cream. In the late 1950s it originated the CoverGirl line of cosmetics, notable for using Noxzema's medicated ingredients. The company changed its name to Noxell Corporation in 1966. Procter & Gamble acquired the brand in 1989. In very good + condition without chips or cracks it measures 5 inches tall, 2 1/2 inches wide and 1 1/4 inches deep. Still in original box, don't think it has ever been used. Has a 7 windged corkscrew, 6 ice tong, and 3 /12 double jigger. Box states, Manufactured in Japan, for S.S. Kresge Company . All in excellent condition.

Wonderful design of peacocks on the front of this enamel sauce server. Has Hussen Hazmen on the bottom. Has a couple rub marks on the bottom and one on the rim, but other wise in excellent condition.

A charming gilt brass figural candy dish with winged cherubs blowing trumpets and holding up a lovely scalloped crystal dish. The dish is removable and is patterned with etched flowers, fruits and leaves with the vine stems encrusted with gold. Slight use wear of the gold, but in excellent condition otherwise. A unique little piece. 3 x 6

This unusual Tiki figurine/paperweight with eagle and feathers headdress is unmarked and is made from Obsidian. Obsidian is a naturally occurring volcanic glass formed as an extrusive igneous rock. It is produced when felsic lava extruded from a volcano cools without crystal growth. Obsidian is also used for ornamental purposes and as a gemstone. It possesses the property of presenting a different appearance according to the manner in which it is cut. When cut in one direction it is a beautiful jet black; when cut across another direction it is glistening gray. In ancient mythic Hawaii, from fire spewing volcanos too powerful crashing surf, ancient Hawaiians filled their amazing land and history with tiki gods. As you can see in the side picture #5 it has veins running through it and when held up to light you can see a grey hue mixed in the black glass. Holds lots of earrings! There are little holes for pierced earrings, or you can use this for vintage earrings in clip ons, screw backs, dangling dangles, button earrings, etc. This is about 10 yrs old, used, not abused, a little loose on the base, functional and nice though. I paid about $20 or more for this. Great for shop owners or flea market booth and antique show dealers. Get lots of display for minimal space, and show off your earrings nicely. One sale can pay for the price of this display!! Nearly 9 high and 9 wide. Sold used as is. Priced accordingly.

Measures nearly 12 by 8 , wood and velvet lined, holds 24 rings, lovely, worn and old, early 1900s, art deco era I estimate, used in my shop for years, could use some cleaning up but could be used as it is or refurbished if desired. Sold as found; priced accordingly.

Taz in all his glory is embroidered on this looks new Acme Kids Baseball Cap made from 65% Polyester and 35% Cotton fibers. Taz is brown, gold, white, and black with a bit of pink on the black cap. The cap is partially mesh lined, has 4 vent holes and an adjustable strap made for growing kids. The cap has the Warner Bros. and fabric tags in place and appears to have been stored away and never worn.

Wonderful set of solid lead with brass paint book ends. Each has the what used to call The Thinker on them. Has felt on the bottom in order to not scratch whatever you put them on Very heavy, will have to figure price of shipping when purchases.

This vintage glass ribbed scrub board is marked: Atlantic National Washboard #511 / Chicago / Saginaw / Memphis, and on every other glass rib is the word National. Washing clothes, a job so slow and grueling when performed manually that laundresses were by far the most sought after domestic help. In the preelectric era, Mondays were traditionally devoted to doing the laundry. First, the clothes were rubbed against a washboard in soapy water to remove most of the dirt, next they were wrung out, perhaps by running them through a pair of hand cranked rollers; they were then boiled briefly in a vat on top of the stove; then, after removal with a stick, they were soaped, rinsed, and wrung out again; finally they were hung on a line to dry - unless it was raining! Measuring 16 inches by 20 inches, this Triple Threat gold framed poster features Batman, Robin and Cat Woman in a ready-for-action pose. Blue, purple and white background with the black and red Batman mask logo on the right hand bottom. At the lower right hand corner is printed the D C Comics name and ownership of all Batman related items and the year date of 1997. The acrylic covered poster is in fine condition with some minor scuffing to the gold toned metallic frame. There is an open slot in the cardboard backing for attaching a hanger. This mortar was designed for use in a pharmacy, Stands 5 in. tall and the top is 5 in. diameter. The cork covered base measures 3.5 in. diameter. Brown pottery with a gray interior. Embossed with an RX William Procter Jr. 1817-1874 Secundumariem Scheringam near the bottom. I find no damage. In excellent condition. I believe this is from the 1950's era.

This delicate teacup has a wheat pattern on the front. The inside is turquoise in color. No identifying markings on the bottom. There is a small chip on the bottom rim and some surface scratches. This vintage teacup measures about 2.25 inches high. Average Plus condition.

Great amazing vintage brown crocheted clutch purse. It has brown crocheted circles stitched together over a grayish brown satin fabric. The interior is a the same satin. It measures 8 by 12 inches. It has an industrial metal zipper and comes with an extra circle to use as a pull. It is beautiful like new on the inside except for two small stains. Great one for the vintage collector in your life.

Was so impressed on the craftmanship of this box, I had to buy it. Wooden box was hand made and is 10 1/2 long, 6 3/4 wide and 4 1/2 deep. Does have a stange blue paint on the inside, but just makes it unique. All in excellent condition.

Clear glass square dish with iridescent copper-gold highlights. The inside offers a textured floral pattern. The outside is smooth in style but has some very small bubbles that may have occurred at time of firing. This vintage dish measures about 5.5 inches by 5.5 inches and about 1 inch high. There is a flea bite chip on the one corner and some foggy discoloration on the bottom center. No identifying markings. Average condition.
