Great Expectations Antiques

This is a rare manufacturers' crosscut saw, marked "MOORE BROS EMPIRE STATE TRADE MARK SAW WORKS JAMESTOWN NEW YORK MADE FROM JESSOP & SONS ????? STEEL PATENT GROUND FURNACE BOTTOM TEMPERED 12" and just to the right of this marking is marked "DOUBLE LONDON SPRING STEEL WARRENTED". This is by early 1900's standards the top of the line hand saw! <br> Condition is good working, with most the to mark visible. There is one tooth missing just below the Moore Bros. mark or about mid way on the steel. The steel has darkening, minor pitting, but overall is still a nice looking saw. The handle end is marked with a "6" on the steel. The handle has two chipped off areas above and below the hand hold at the end of the saw (shown). Otherwise the handle has a nice finish with normal wear. The hardware is brass and the medallion is marked "WARRENTED SUPERIOR PAT. DEC. 27, 1887". Where can you find another?
