Both words and music are included. As with so many music sheets of the era, this is hand-stitched with thread on the spine to keep it together, as well as other stitching to bind a tear on the cover itself. A previous owner's name is handwritten at top of front. The sheet is in just about Good condition, with edge/corner wear/tears. Inside pages are clean, crisp and easily readable!     Dedicated to Miss Alice DeMotte, Jersey City Heights, New Jersey, this is the 1883 copyright of LONGING FOR THE MOUNTAINS, an idylle by F. Frederick. It was published by J. L. Peters, St. Louis. There are no words published with this sheet. The front cover has a nice inset drawing of a tree full of small birds; the back cover features a wonderful ad for the J. L. Peters' new style Six Octave Organs, along with a great engraved drawing of the organ. Condition of this one is Good, with some tears/wear to edges and corners. The bottom corner is missing at spine. None of this damage interferes with the music, however, which is completely readable and playable! Another nice 19th century music sheet! (4778)

    Here's an early version of Irving Berlin's popular Alexander's Ragtime Band, 'successfully introduced by Emma Carus' and published in 1911 by Ted Snyder Co., New York. A photo inset of the Ramsey Sisters is on the front, below the bandstand drawing signed by Frew. The sheet is in Good+ condition, with some edge/corner wear and creases. Still, inside pages are without defects on the music itself. A previous owner's name label is pasted on inside front cover. A nice old-timer, ready for framing! (4771)

    This is THE BOYS' HYMNAL, A Collection of Devotional and Inspirational Hymns Selected for Use in Meetings for Boys. It was edited by I. H. Meredith and published in 1914 by Tullar-Meredith Co., New York. The softcover book includes 68 different hymns, with music, as well as a section of Responsive Readings from Psalms and Proverbs. The songs, which are indexed by both title and first lines, range from 'Ashamed of Jesus,' 'Comrades of the Cross,' and 'Marching On To Victory' to 'Quit You Like Men,' 'Sound the Bugle' and 'Three Cheers for the Boys.' Many of these are old-time hymns that are well-known and well-loved! The book is in Very Good condition, with a few minor edge/corner creases to the covers. Inside pages show no apparent defects. Chosen from many hundreds of hymns of the Protestant, Catholic and Jewish faiths, the hymns' words are printed with information on the composer, circumstances of its writing and more. The 121-page faux leather covered booklet was also designed to commemorate the 5th Radio Anniversary of the Hymns of All Churches program featuring Joe Emerson and his fellow musicians. A special anniversary hymn, with music by Fred Jacky and words by George Thorndyke, is also included, as is the recipe for Emerson's favorite cake - the Anniversary Caramel Cake - provided by Betty Crocker and her staff. It's a nice addition to your religious music library and is in Very Good condition. None of this affects the printed material.
