Next week's story request is to tell us about something that you have collected that seems to have a spirit within it. This might be something that moves around the house on it's own or maybe makes strange sounds. Tell us haw you acquired the item, what it does that is unusual and how you feel about having it in your home. Send your story to phil@tias.com and I'll publish it in an upcoming newsletter. Here is this week's story....
--
I had a hotel bed warmer that had the name of the hotel on a brass plate on it. So I checked on the hotel name, and it turned out to be a "haunted" hotel in Nevada, that they've done documentaries on -- that Ghost Hunters show and some Discovery and History channel stuff too. I thought I had a real find! So, I put it on eBay. The hotel was built in the early 1900s and closed in 1930s. It was huge -- 4 stories -- had the first elevator west of the Mississippi and was built over the top of a mine shaft. Well -- it seems there were several murders there over the years. One of the worst was that the owner got a prostitute pregnant, so he chained her to a radiator and fed her food and water until the baby came. When the baby arrived, he threw it down the mine shaft -- then he left the lady chained up to die.

Anyway, right before the auction closed -- I got this note from someone who saw the auction -- he said "hey the photo of the back of the pan has a picture of a lady on it -- do you think it's a ghost?" I just thought ha, ha, and told him it was probably my reflection when I took the photo. So then I went back to look at my eBay listing and the photo he was looking at.......it WASN'T me! And, as I stood back from the photo to see it all clearly, there was some sort of black looking sinister being on the left side, with the lady on the right. We checked the actual bottom of the pan, to see if it was on it, and there was NOTHING there -- only in the photo! At this point, the rest of my family got involved -- claimed "this is NOT right" -- get it out of here! So we threw the whole thing in the box and let it stay the night in the truck before I could ship it away. The weird thing is that during the whole week it was in the house, my daughter and I were having horrible nightmares -- pretty creepy. Linda B. from Idaho p.s. See the Haunted bed warmer photo on our facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/TIASAntiques

If you have a story to share, please email it to phil@tias.com and if we include it in an upcoming issue and you include your postal address, we'll send you one of these http://youtu.be/MLofj1Ca6TM

Behind Santa Barbara California in the Santa Ynez Valley is a small tourist town called Solvang. When I was a kid we would go there for their Danish pastries. They were amazing. They also made these small ball shaped pancakes that came out of a skillet with holes. Does anyone know what these were called and have a recipe for them?
