Yahoo! Auctions pushing hard.
Yesterday they sent us early warning of a free listing day which will
be Thursday January 24th. More info is available online at:
http://auctions.yahoo.com/phtml/auc/us/promo/announcements.html

Yahoo! is also giving away two major prizes to merchants that meet
certain criteria for this free listing day. Merchants using TIAS,
AntiqueArts or Earthling.com are in an ideal position to take
advantage of this contest, because of the bulk upload features
we have available with Yahoo! auctions.

Best of luck to everyone that participates. I hope we see a TIAS
merchant(s) win one or both of the top prizes that Yahoo! is
offering.

Your email list and newsletter
If your store does not use the email list service that
we offer, you are probably losing sales and potential customers.

Our email address service allows you to collect and manage the
email addresses of customers that visit your site. You can then inform
these customers about sales and services you offer. TIAS uses
this same feature to send out an email newsletter twice a week
to over 190,000 subscribers.

Consider writing an email newsletter for your own online store.
People like to read interesting stories. The TIAS newsletter includes
features from many different sources, as well as recipes, classified
ads and info on newly listed items. People enjoy reading it, because
it is not just a commercial message, it also contains fun and
valuable information.

Every time the TIAS newsletter goes out, sales increase and traffic
increases. Customers enjoy getting interesting information on topics
they are interested in. Try sending your own email newsletter. For
more information on setting up an email list using the TIAS system
contact support@tias.com

Press releases
This is another free feature that you can use TWICE a week.
Imagine getting your message on the home page of the single
largest Web site for just antiques and collectibles on the Web.

TIAS has been offering this feature for many years. Customers
love to read the press releases from our merchants. AntiqueArts
has this same feature as well. If you need traffic, use this feature.

You can post a press release from the members page. This is
a free service and it draws traffic. If you need help, drop a note
to support@tias.com for more information.
-----------

Online classifieds
We started offering online classifieds through the newsletter
twice a week. Traffic to the new classified ad system
http://www.tias.com/stores/tiasexchange/
is now getting as many as 3000 unique visitors a day. The key to
this working is that the newsletter has over 190,000 subscribers
who are very interested in antiques and collectibles. Traffic to the
classifieds come from both the newsletter and the TIAS Web site.

The new classified ad system is now set up to promote Web
sites as well. We've had a great deal of positive feedback from
merchants that have been using the new classifieds. Take a look at:
http://www.tias.com//stores/tiasexchange/testimonials.html

If you want a very low cost way to drive customers to your Web
site, sell a special item or run a wanted ad, drop Sandi a note
at support@tias.com and ask for more info on the new online
classified system.
-----------

Jan. sales holding at Nov. levels
This is an interesting little tidbit. Overall sales for non auctioned
"fixed price" items on TIAS are selling at about the same rate
as they did in Nov. 2001, during the pre Holiday Christmas rush.

That's an interesting positive trend that I'm sure we would all like
to see continue.
