A reader sent in these images of a doll she found, and wondered if anyone has any information or history about it. Here are the details:

Hello Tias.com (Sue).

I found this doll at my local swap meet. It was sweet and in sad shape, so I bought it.

She looks to be stuffed with straw or something. Photo attached.
I searched the web regarding the markings on the back. No luck.

Your thoughts on this doll will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.
Joann

Last week, Sue B. was looking for some Hungarian recipes. Here's a response from one of our readers:
--
I have had quite a fascinating time reading 134 pages of old time New York ethnic-based recipes from the rare but available on Amazon.com 1940 "America Cooks" by The Browns, Cora, Rose and Bob; Halcyon House, Garden City, NY. This is one of my favorite recipe books, inherited from my Grandmother's first cousin. I need to thank your reader for this opportunity to read for the first time, this historical chapter on New York's food. Unfortunately, I didn't find anything like the recipes asked for. I would suggest the reader obtain a book with over 400 old time family Hungarian recipes, then if needed, contact others that were used as references or the author, herself.
http://helenshungarianrecipes.com/
I also suggest that she look for spiral bound recipe books in her locale at old book stores, thrift stores or antique shops to see if her sought after recipes were printed in books from clubs or church groups. Most of those books do not have indexes, so you have to page through them, maybe looking for Hungarian surnames. Have fun searching!
Marie from Idaho, where we've missed out on having Hungarian immigrants.
--------------

10. As with collectibles, people also have very strong feelings about foods from their past. Sometimes these special recipes get lost. This section is to help people who are looking for lost recipes from their past. If you submit a request, please include the geographical region where you tasted the recipe. If you have a vintage recipe request send it to recipes@tias.com and we might just publish it here.

TIAS.com merchants have well over 4,000 cookbooks for sale! You can see them here: http://www.tias.com/books/cooking/

Be sure to check out our vintage kitchen collectibles section online at: http://www.tias.com/showcase/1/Kitchen_Collectibles/1.html

Email recipes@tias.com if you have a vintage recipe you'd like to share or if you're looking for a recipe!
