3. Do you know what day it is? Just to show you how versatile the inventory presented by our hundreds of sellers can be, we've been researching little-known national and world-wide "holidays" that most people aren't familiar with, and matching them up with items for sale on TIAS.com.

Yesterday was National Corned Beef and Cabbage Day (and I'm sure you can guess why). There were a few cabbage-related items listed at TIAS.com. One we found really interesting was a vintage postcard displaying a 44 lb cabbage grown in Alaska! See our post here:
http://on.fb.me/1PeegLw

Visit us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/TIASAntiques to read about some of the interesting and sometimes amusing "holidays"! You don't need to have a Facebook account to view that page!
-------------

4. Be sure to visit our boards on Pinterest! https://www.pinterest.com/TIASAntiques/

Visit the page for the March Birthstone-Aquamarine or Bloodstone
https://www.pinterest.com/TIASAntiques/march-birthstone-aquamarine-or-bloodstone/

Aquamarine is derived from Latin word aqua, meaning water, and marina, meaning the sea. Was believed to protect sailors, as well as to guarantee a safe voyage. The serene color of aquamarine is said to cool the temper, allowing the wearer to remain calm and levelheaded. The 2nd birthstone for March is bloodstone, dark-green jasper flecked with vivid red spots of iron oxide. This ancient stone was used by Babylonians to make seals and amulets.

Feel free to stop by and check out all of our boards and while you're there, please "follow" us! We update these boards daily.

We do have two requests for help identify items:
"The piece stands roughly 5 1/2 inches tall and a little more than 3 1/4 inches wide. It appears to be a combination of wood and metal. I see no maker marks of any kind. I'm thinking it may be tobacciana related? I really don't know. I'm send more photo with this message. Thank you for your help!"
https://www.facebook.com/TIASAntiques/posts/10154025274533656
There have been a few interesting suggestions posted.
--

"I recently acquired said table and can't find any information about the table. Is there anyway you could tell me what I have? Here is a couple photos of table. Only markings are 370 Tier and in center of main pole at bottom is several deep lines."
https://www.facebook.com/TIASAntiques/posts/10154028597858656
A couple of intersting suggestions here as well.
