Here's a recipe from the Better Homes and Gardens 1965 ring binder cookook:

Pecan Crispies

1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup butter or margarine
2 1/2 cups brown sugar
2 beaten eggs
2 1/2 cups sifte all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped pecans

Oven 350 degrees

Thoroughly cream shortening, butter and sugar; add eggs; beat well. Sift dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture. Add nuts.

Drop from teaspoon, about 2 inches apart, onto greased cooky sheet. Bake in moderate over (350 degrees) 12 to 15 minutes. Makes 5 dozen.
