2) Question: What is that film that I cannot remove from my glass vase?
Answer: What you have is sick glass. Sick glass is a condition caused by chemical or mineral deposits in the water. When a vase is left and the water evaporates, the residue causes a reaction in the glass and you are left with a film that cannot be removed.
I have tried different methods of removal; sometimes it could be just a simple lime deposit, which can be removed with CLR or denture tablets and water.
Question: How do I get the bottom of my vase clean? I can’t reach it with a brush or sponge.
Answer: When trying to clean an awkward or hard to reach place, try rice. Add enough rice to the bottom of the vase add water and detergent and swish. It may take a few times to come clean. A word about brushes is be careful the brush you are using isn’t harming your glass by leaving minute scratches!

3) This month’s unusual find came from an estate auction, a Ruby Snow Crest Heart Shaped Dish produced by Fenton Art Glass for Valentine’s Day in 1979.

Northwood only produced 3 of these plates and of course they are considered very rare! Congratulations to both the Seller and the Buyer.
