Manufacturer: U.S.A. Glass Christmas Ornaments
A neat matching pair of vintage glass Christmas ball ornaments, both marked on their silver caps, Made in U.S.A. These are pink glass with a white paint décor with attached mica glitter that comes across to us like a fabric type look. The white pattern is of large flowers and leaves.

These round glass ornaments came out of the same home. They measure about 2 1/8 inches in width and about 2 1/2 inches in height to the top of the silver cap but not including the hanging loop. There is no indication of manufacturer beyond the U.S.A. marking. The cap can be lifted up only a slight bit on one ornament and not at all on the other, so these caps are firmly attached for hanging.

What's interesting is that on both ornaments the horizontal design stops short of fully encircling the ball. As made, on each ball, there is an about 1 inch space on one side that does not show the white design. We don't know why these would have been made this way, this is not an area where the design has been worn away over time. Perhaps how these balls were manufactured the machinery did not permit continuing the design fully around the ball, we don't know.

We've provided 5 images to show from varied sides, and you can see the space where there is no design. One image shows a close-up of the USA marking on the cap. Please use the zoom feature to examine closely. Also, please note that the box used for photographing these ornaments was used for ease of display only and is not included with this sale.

While very attractive and very usable, these vintage balls do show their age via a good bit of use/storage wear. As you can see in the images, probably up to 1/2 of the white mica on top of the white paint has worn off over time, with this wearing off some of the paint, too, in some spots, so you can see the glass underneath within some of these flowers. This varies over the ornaments, so you could position these on the tree to show less of the wear if desired. There are no cracks in the glass or glass pieces missing. We do see a good bit of expected surface wear on the glass with many scratches, lines, discoloration spots, crazing type surface lines, etc. On one ornament you can also see a triangular piece of extra glass attached on the inside of the ornament near one of the white flowers as made in manufacture. Certainly not new and mint looking, but we believe this all adds to believability of age and their charm.

We are listing many other Christmas ornaments. Should you be interested in more than one listing, please contact us prior to placing the order so that we can provide you with shipping cost savings by packing them in one package. The system will automatically provide shipping costs for each listing as if mailed separately. We would be pleased to calculate and provide the postage savings for you.
