Vintage, Bahia Honda Fabulous Florida Keys postcard. Scene of the old and new bridge. Old Bahia Honda Bridge was the highest span in the Overseas Highway System. It was built on the old Florida East Coast Railway road bed, which connected Miami with Key West in the early part of the century. It was converted to a highway in 1935. This 1906 postcard depicts what are believed to be the remains of two of the classical columns from Christian Zais' Kurhaus in Wiesbaden, Germany built between 1808 and 1811. The postcard shows the delight of the children posing before the columns. Very minimal wear on the corners, barely perceptible. Marked Mentorkarte No 683, Nachdruck verboten. German text on the back of the postcard explains the picture.
