Here is a unique movie film editor that still is in good operating condition. It is a solid unit made by a company famous for quality movie editing equipment. The light works well, and the unit is very compact and comes complete with its own film splicer (no splices, just the device for cutting and splicing - you can find Super 8 splices in my store). The winding arms fold in and the cranks fold down. This editor is for the Super 8 movie film only, not the older Regular 8mm movie film which has the film holes in a different spot on the film frame. The splicer folds under the unit so that it is not in the way during other operations. The viewing screen is a full 4 inches by 3 inches which is larger than most viewers. I have several of these Super 8 units, but they are all similar models with same features. All are operational and ready for your use. All machines look like the photos, but may vary in color.
Here is a handy Super 8 and Standard 8mm movie film rewinder for moving film back and forth to different reels or to use while cleaning film with special cleaning solvent. These machines are actually old movie editors that did not pass my test for use as an editor or no long have working parts to view the film but the manual winding arms and cranks will still do a nice job of rewinding film from one reel to another reel. The film rewinder you get may vary from the photos shown but will be similar. Again, these are old editors that are no longer working as editors, but will still move film from one reel to another reel manually with the hand cranks and spindles. The machine will come with Dual 8 spindles or with Regular 8mm spindles combined with Super 8 adapters for both spindles so either Regular 8mm or Super 8 reels will fit the spindles. So no one makes a mistake, these are film rewinding machines only. They will not view film on the screen or edit film. The machine you get may or may not be exactly like the machines pictured in the photos but all machines in this item will have two good folding arms, cranks and spindles for rewinding film manually.
MADE IN THE USA: Here is a unique movie film editor that still is in good operating condition. It is a solid unit with metal arms made by a company famous for quality movie editing equipment. The light works well, and the unit is very well built. The winding arms fold in for storage. This editor is for the Regular 8mm movie film only, not the Super 8 movie film which different hole spacing. These older editor/viewers are among the best with a clear picture produced by a 30 watt bulb. The bulbs are still available in case you should ever need a new one. The rewind arm crank is geared so you can rewind the film at higher speeds. The nice thing about this model of editor is that the film is actually held down on the lens drive sprocket so it cannot slip on the drive wheel. This unit does NOT have a built-in splicer. This item is only the editor/viewer as shown.
Sepia Photograph Man In Wwi Uniform Mclindberg 1920
This is a vintage sepia photograph of a man in what looks to me to be a World War I uniform and pince nez glasses. The photograph measures 8 inches high by 5.25 inches wide and is marked in the bottom right corner with the words McLindberg 1920. I am assuming that is the photographer. The photo is in almost mint condition with 2 tiny corner scuffs on the right side which are seen in the photo of the photo! Plain back with the vague evidence of a price tag at some time. In an archival sleeve.

The light works well, and the unit is very compact. The winding arms fold down and the crank handles fold down so the unit stores in a minimum of space This editor is for the Regular 8mm movie film only, not the Super 8 movie film which is wider with different hole spacing.

THIS ITEM IS NOT FOR SALE AND IS FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY: THINGS YOU'LL NEED- - VINTAGE FILM PROJECTOR - MODERN VIDEO CAMERA - COMPUTER THAT CAN BURN A DVD - COMPUTER SOFTWARE THAT CAN EDIT DIGITAL VIDEO Step 1: There are conversion services available to convert your 8mm films to DVD, but for the most part, they charge $3 to $5 per minute or 15 to 25 cents per foot, with a minimum charge as well. If money is no object, that's the way to go. However, if you want to do it inexpensively, then continue reading. Step 2: If you have 8mm films, chances are that you also have an 8mm projector. If you have Super 8 film, chances are you already have a Super 8 projector. If you don't know what type of film you have and you don't have a projector, take a look at my store index and you will see a category on how to identify the difference between Regular 8mm film and Super 8 film. A Dual 8 projector will show both sizes of film. You can select any of these types of old vintage projectors from my store by choosing the Film & Slide Projectors category from that same index. Then, look under the sub-categories listed to find which used projectors are presently available for purchase. Once you have your projector set up and operating, you can begin by projecting the images on a flat, white, smooth surface. A wall isn't generally good because the textured surface blurs the image. Use a white art board and project the image to a width of about two feet. Much larger and you'll reduce the quality. Sometimes it is very good to buy a vintage projector that has a variable motor speed feature. This will help eliminate the 'bar syndrome' on some video cameras as you can sync the speed of the projector with that of the video camera. Step 3: Now set your video camera on a tripod on a level with the projector's lens, and as close to the projector as possible. Then simply video tape the entire 8mm film, Super 8 or 16mm films that you want to convert by capturing the screen image (projected image) with your video camera. Don't worry about bad portions of the film - you'll be able to edit those out later in your computer. Quality in resolution can be improved by purchasing a video transfer box. These black boxes have a mirror inside set at an angle so one can point your video cam direct at the screen. I sometimes have these boxes for sale used in my store. Check under the projector accessory category on the main index. Step 4: Now transfer the video tapes from your camera to your computer's movie maker program. For example, Apple Computers come with an iMovie program. Microsoft has a program available at no charge also called Movie Maker. Using your movie maker software, you can now edit your video, add titles, credits, and sound. Then as a last step, burn a DVD from your edited video.
These new film splices are for repairing the older 16mm movie film when you have a break in the film or want to splice two or more films together. There are 5 envelopes per package and each envelope contains two clear plastic pre-glued and slotted splices--one for each side of the film. The splices are slotted on both sides of splice which will work on either silent or sound film. Splicing film works better and easier with a film splicing machine or jig, but it can be done by hand if you take your time and be careful lining up the holes/slots in the splices and film.
This film tape leader is for splicing in front of your older 16mm movie film so that is gives time for the film to thread through the projector before the action frames begin. This is why it is called LEADER film. It is white and will show nothing on the screen if the light is turned on. This is a new full roll of approximately 100 feet in length. The leader tape is slotted on both sides so it can be used on sound film or silent film. The width of the leader tape is 5/8 inch wide or the standard width for 16mm film.
