Vintage Pitcher, Amish Folk Art, Hand Drawn and Hand Painted by Jeanne Koch. This lovely ivory colored pitcher is 6 1/2 tall and 3 1/2 across the opening from the spout. It has a picture of a person relaxing under a tree next to a carriage on one side, and the word AMISH written in the center of a blue heart on the other side. It is in excellent condition, signed by the artist J. Koch with the date 1989, There is also an Amish Folk Art Hand Drawn Hand Painted label on the bottom.
16 x 10 Excellent pair of Bretby Japonist vases. After Japanese ports reopened to trade with the West in 1853, a tidal wave of foreign imports flooded European shores. On the crest of that wave were woodcut prints by masters of the ukiyo-e school which transformed Impressionist and Post-Impressionist art by demonstrating that simple, transitory, everyday subjects from the floating world could be presented in appealingly decorative ways.
