The roof is the lid and the spices are put inside each house. The set is in in excellent condition with the FOURS GIFT mark on the bottom of each piece.
Vintage Fine China Vase and Plate, Dynasty Gallery, Exclusive Designs, Original Chokin Collection. This vase is 5 1/2 tall and 2 7/8 wide at the center. The plate is 4 1/8 across. Chokin engravings were originally used in decorating ancient Japanese temples, shrines and armament of warriors. Chokin art is still being made today and the word Chokin refers to the technique or style of this art. The ancient craft dates back to the 12th century--copper was engraved and gilded over with precious metals such as 24k gold and silver. This set is in excellent condition with the Dynasty Gallery mark on the plate.
Vintage Fine Porcelain Vase, The Woodland Bird, Limited Edition, 1981, Franklin Porcelain, by Basil Ede. This beautiful fine pottery vase is 11 1/2 tall and approximately 6 across at the widest point. There are two lovely multi-colored birds that look kind of like Flycatchers or Tanagers. One is perched on a tree branch on one side of the vase, and the other side shows a bird with its wings spread ready to fly. The latter bird is perched on a really pretty green tree branch with green leaves and pink flowers. The vase is trimmed in gold at the base and around the top rim. The effect is beautiful. This vase is in excellent condition with The Franklin Porcelain Woodland Bird Vase by Basil Ede mark.
Figurine, ceramic, Dorothea Wight, Colonial Man, 1951. This rare figurine is 7 tall. The blond colonial man is extending his hand to someone or something. The man is ivory-white with flesh colored hands, face and blond hair. The figurine was designed by English Artist Dorothea Wight in 1951. She established an editioning and platemaking workshop for intaglia called Studio Prints . She is also an honorary member of The Royal Society of Painter Etchers . This figurine has a little bit of crazing, which is indicative of its age, and a couple of pinhead under-the-glaze brown spots. Its overall condition is very good. It is marked 1951 Dorothea Wight .
